1 ¶ Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, of the sons of Reuben, took men;

А Корей син на Исаара, син на Каата Левиевият син, и Датан и Авирон синове на Елиава, и Он син на Фалета, Рувимуви потомци, като си взеха човеци,

2 a nd they rose up against Moses, with two hundred and fifty men of the sons of Israel, princes of the congregation, of the council, men of renown;

дигнаха се против Моисея, с двеста и петдесет човеци от израилтяните, първенци на обществото, избрани за съветници, именити мъже.

3 a nd they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said unto them, We have had enough of you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them; why then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

Събраха се, прочее, против Моисея и против Аарона и рекоха им: Стига ви толкоз! Цялото общество е свето, всеки един от тях, и Господ е всред тях. А защо възвишавате себе си над Господното общество?

4 A nd when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face;

А Моисей, като чу това, падна на лицето си,

5 a nd he spoke unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Tomorrow the LORD will show who are his and who is holy and will cause the one who is holy to come near unto him; the one whom he has chosen he will cause to come near unto him.

и говори на Корея и на цялата му дружина, казвайки: Утре Господ ще покаже кои са Негови, и кой е свет, и кого ще направи да се приближи при Него. Онзи, който Той избере ще направи да се приближи при Него.

6 D o this: Take censers, Korah, and all his company,

Това направете: ти, Корее, и цялата ти дружина, вземете си кадилници,

7 a nd put fire in them and put incense in them before the LORD tomorrow; and it shall be that the man whom the LORD chooses, he shall be holy; this shall be enough for you, ye sons of Levi.

турете в тях огън, и турете в тях темян пред Господа утре; и когото Господ избере, той ще бъде свет. Стига толкоз и вам, левийци!

8 A nd Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:

И Моисей рече на Корея; Чуйте сега, вий левийци:

9 D oes it seem but a small thing unto you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to minister in the service of the tabernacle of the LORD and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?

малко ли ви е това, гдето Израилевият Бог отдели вас от Израилевото общество, та ви направи да се приближавате при Него, за да вършите службата на Господната скиния и да стоите пред обществото, за да им служите?

10 A nd that he has brought thee near to him and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee, and ye seek the priesthood also?

Той те направи да се приближиш при Него, и заедно с тебе всичките ти братя левийците; а искате ли и свещенството?

11 F or which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD, for what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?

Така, че ти и цялата ти дружина сте се събрали против Господа; защото кой е Аарон, та да роптаете против него?

12 ¶ And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, but they replied, We will not come up.

И Моисей изпрати да повикат Датана и Авирона, Елиавовите синове; а те отговориха: Няма да дойдем.

13 I s it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that flowed with milk and honey to make us die in the wilderness, but thou must also make thyself lord to rule over us?

Малко ли е това, гдето си ни извел из земя, в която текат мляко и мед, за да ни измориш в пустинята, та още и владетел ли искаш да направиш себе си над нас?

14 M oreover, thou hast not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards; wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up.

При това, ти не си ни довел в земя, гдето текат мляко и мед, нито си ни дал да наследим ниви и лозя. Ще извърташ ли очите на тия хора? Няма да дойдем.

15 T hen Moses was very angry and said unto the LORD, Look not thou upon their offering; I have not taken so much as one ass from them, neither have I done evil to any of them.

Тогава Моисей се разсърди много, и рече Господу: Не погледвай благосклонно на приноса им; аз не съм взел нито един осел от тях, и никому от тях не съм сторил зло.

16 A nd Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy company before the LORD, thou and they and Aaron, tomorrow;

И Моисей рече на Корея: Утре ти и всички, които си събрал, да се намерите пред Господа, - ти, и те, и Аарон;

17 a nd let each man take his censer and put incense in them and let each man bring his censer before the LORD, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also and Aaron, each of you with his censer.

и вземете всеки кадилницата си, турете в тях темян, и занесете пред Господа всеки кадилницата си, двеста и петдесет кадилници; също и ти и Аарон, - всеки своята кадилница.

18 A nd each man took his censer and put fire in them and laid incense in them and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the testimony with Moses and Aaron.

Прочее, те взеха всеки кадилницата си, туриха огън в тях, туриха в тях и темян, и застанаха пред входа на шатъра за срещане заедно с Моисея и Аарона,

19 A nd Korah had gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the testimony; then the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.

Корей събра против тях и цялото общество пред входа на шатъра за срещане; и Господната слава се яви на цялото общество.

20 A nd the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

Тогава Господ говори на Моисея и Аарона, казвайки:

21 S eparate yourselves from among this congregation, and I will consume them in a moment.

Отделете се отсред това общество, за да ги изтребя в един миг.

22 A nd they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?

А те паднаха на лицата си и рекоха: О Боже, Боже на духовете на всяка твар! ако един човек е съгрешил, ще се разгневиш ли на цялото общество?

23 ¶ Then the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

Тогава Господ говори на Моисея, казвайки:

24 S peak unto the congregation, saying, Separate yourselves now from the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.

Говори на обществото, казвайки: Отстъпете от жилищата на Корея, Датана и Авирона.

25 A nd Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him.

И тъй, Моисей стана та отиде при Датана и Авирона; подир него отидоха и Израилевите старейшини.

26 A nd he spoke unto the congregation, saying, Depart from the tents of these wicked men and touch nothing of theirs lest peradventure ye be consumed in all their sins.

И говори на обществото, казвайки: Отстъпете, моля ви се от шатрите на тия нечестиви човеци, и не се допирайте до нищо тяхно, за да не погинете всред всичките техни грехове.

27 S o they removed themselves from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side; and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, with their wives and their sons and their little children.

И тъй, те навред отстъпиха от жилищата на Корея, Датана и Авирона; а Датан и Авирон излязоха та застанаха при входовете на шатрите си, с жените си и малките си деца.

28 A nd Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them out of my own heart.

И рече Моисей: От това ще познаете, че Господ ме е изпратил да извърша всички тия дела, и че не <ги правя> от себе си:

29 I f these men die the common death of all men or if they are visited after the visitation of all men, then the LORD has not sent me.

ако тия човеци умрат, както умират всичките човеци, или ако им се въздаде, според както се въздава на всичките човеци, то Господ не ме е изпратил;

30 B ut if the LORD does a new thing and the earth opens her mouth and swallows them up with all their things and they go down alive into Sheol, then ye shall know that these men have provoked the LORD.

но ако Господ направи ново нещо, - ако отвори земята устата си та погълне тях и всичко, което е тяхно, и те слязат живи в ада {Еврейски: шеол, т.е., мястото на умрелите.}, тогава ще познаете, че тия човеци презряха Господа.

31 A nd it came to pass as he had made an end of speaking all these words that the ground broke open under them;

Като изговори той всички тия думи, земята се разпукна под тях.

32 t he earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up, and their houses and all the men of Korah and all their goods.

Земята отвори устата си и погълна тях, домочадията им, всичките Корееви човеци и всичкия им имот.

33 T hey and all that they had went down alive into Sheol, and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the congregation.

Те и всичко тяхно слязоха живи в ада, земята ги покри, и те погинаха отсред обществото.

34 A nd all Israel, those that were round about them, fled at the cry of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.

А целият Израил, които бяха около тях, побягнаха, като извикаха, думайки: Да не погълне земята и нас.

35 ¶ And fire came out from the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

И огън излезе от Господа и пояде ония двеста и петдесет мъже, които принесоха темяна.

36 T hen the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

След това Господ говори на Моисея, казвайки:

37 S peak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning and scatter thou the fire yonder, for

Кажи на Елеазара, син на свещеника Аарона, да прибере кадилниците отсред изгарянето; а ти разпръсни огъня нататък; защото свети са

38 t he censers of these sinners are sanctified against their own souls, and broad plates shall be made of them for a covering of the altar, for they offered with them before the LORD; therefore, they are sanctified, and they shall be a sign unto the sons of Israel.

кадилниците на тия човеци, които съгрешиха против своя си живот {Или: своята си душа.}, и нека ги направят на плочи за обковаване на олтара; понеже те ги принесоха пред Господа, и за това са свети; и те ще бъдат за знамение на израилтяните.

39 A nd Eleazar, the priest, took the brass censers with which those that were burnt had offered, and they were made into a broad covering of the altar

И тъй, свещеникът Елеазар прибра медните кадилници, които изгорелите бяха принесли; и направиха ги на плочи за обковаване на олтара,

40 t o be a memorial unto the sons of Israel, that no stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron come near to offer incense before the LORD, that he not be as Korah and as his company, as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.

да напомнюват на израилтяните, че никой чужд човек, който не е от Аароновото потомство, не бива да пристъпва да принася темян пред Господа, за да не стане като Корея и дружината му. <Това стори Елеазар>, както Господ му рече чрез Моисея.

41 ¶ But on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.

А на следния ден цялото общество израилтяни възроптаха против Моисея и Аарона, като казваха: Вие избихте Господните люде.

42 A nd it came to pass when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron that they looked toward the tabernacle of the testimony; and, behold, the cloud had covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.

Но когато обществото се беше събрало против Моисея и Аарона, погледнаха към шатъра за срещане, и ето, облакът го покри, и Господната слава се яви.

43 A nd Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the testimony.

И Моисей и Аарон дойдоха пред шатъра за срещане.

44 A nd the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

И Господ говори на Моисея, казвайки:

45 D epart from among this congregation, and I will consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

Оттеглете се отсред това общество, за да ги погубя в един миг. Но те паднаха на лицата си.

46 A nd Moses said unto Aaron, Take the censer and put fire in it from off the altar and put incense upon it and go quickly unto the congregation and reconcile them; for the wrath has gone out from before the face of the LORD; the plague is begun.

Тогава Моисей рече на Аарона: Вземи кадилницата си, тури в нея огън от олтара, и тури на него темян та иди скоро в обществото и направи умилостивение за тях; защото гняв излезе от Господа, язвата почна.

47 T hen Aaron took his censer as Moses said and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people; and he put on incense and reconciled the people.

Аарон, прочее, взе <кадилницата си>, както рече Моисей, и завтече се сред обществото; и, ето, язвата беше почнала между людете; и той тури темяна и направи умилостивение за людете.

48 A nd he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

А като застана между мъртвите и живите, язвата престана.

49 N ow those that died in that plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, besides those that died concerning the matter of Korah.

Умрелите от язвата бяха четиринадесет хиляди и седемстотин човеци, освен ония, които умряха в Кореевата работа.

50 A nd Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, when the plague was stayed.

И Аарон се върна при Моисея до входа на шатъра за срещане, защото язвата престана.
