1 ¶ I charge thee, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead in his appearing and in his kingdom:

Заръчвам ти пред Бога и пред Христа Исуса, Който ще съди живите и мъртвите, и пред <вид> на явлението Му и царуването му:

2 P reach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

проповядвай словото, настоявай на време и без време, изобличавай, порицавай, увещавай, с голямо търпение и непрестанно поучаване.

3 F or the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, they shall heap up unto themselves teachers who shall speak to them according to their own lusts,

Защото ще дойде време, когато няма да търпят здравото учение; но, понеже ги сърбят ушите, ще си натрупат учители по своите страсти,

4 a nd thus they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall return unto fables.

и, като отвърнат ушите си от истината, ще се обърнат към басните.

5 B ut watch thou in all things, labour, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill thy ministry.

Но ти бъди разбран във всичко, понеси страдание, извърши делото на благовестител, изпълнявай службата си.

6 F or I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my release is at hand.

Защото аз вече ставам принос, и времето на отиването ми настава.

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith;

Аз се подвизах в доброто войнствуване, попрището свърших, вярата опазих;

8 f rom now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all those also that have loved his appearing.

отсега нататък се пази за мене венецът (правдата), който Господ, праведният Съдия, ще ми въздаде в оня ден; и не само на мене, но и на всички, които са обикнали Неговото явление.

9 ¶ Procure to come shortly unto me;

Постарай се да дойдеш скоро при мене;

10 f or Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

защото Димас ме остави, като обикна сегашния свят; той отиде в Солун, Крискент в Галатия, а Тит в Далмация.

11 O nly Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with thee, for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

Само Лука е при мене. Вземи Марка и доведи го със себе си, защото ми е полезен в службата.

12 A nd Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.

А Тихика пратих в Ефес.

13 T he cloak that I left at Troas in the house of Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee and the books, but especially the parchments.

Когато дойдеш, донеси япунджака, който съм оставил в Троада при Карпа, и книгите, а особено пергаментите.

14 A lexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

Медникарят Александър ми стори много зло; Господ ще му върне по делата му;

15 o f whom be thou ware also; for he has greatly resisted our words.

от когото и ти се пази, защото той много се противи на нашите думи.

16 ¶ At my first answer no one stood with me, but all men forsook me: let it not be imputed unto them.

При първата ми защита никой не взе моята страна, но всичките ме оставиха; дано не им се счете <това за грях>.

17 B ut the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully known and that all the Gentiles might hear, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

Но Господ беше с мене и ме укрепи, за да се прогласи напълно посланието чрез мене, и да чуят всичките езичници; и аз бях избавен от лъвови уста.

18 A nd the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work and will save me for his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Господ ще ме избави от всяко дело на лукавия и ще ме спаси <и въведе> в небесното Си царство; Комуто да бъде слава във вечни векове. Амин.
