1 ¶ I will stand upon my watch and affirm my foot upon the fortress and will watch to see what he will say in me and what I shall answer to my question.

На стражата си ще застана, Ще се изправя на кулата, И ще внимавам да видя какво ще ми говори Той, И какво да отговоря на изобличителя си.

2 A nd the LORD answered me and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that reads it.

Господ в отговор ми рече: Напиши видението и изложи го ясно на дъсчици, За да може да се чете бърже.

3 F or the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it because it will surely come; wait for it.

Защото видението се отнася към едно определено <бъдеще> време, Но бърза към изпълнението си, и няма да излъже; Ако и да се бави, чакай го, Защото непременно ще дойде, няма да закъснее.

4 B ehold, he whose soul is not upright in him will become filled with pride, but the just in his faith shall live.

Ето, душата му се надигна, не е отдън права; А праведният ще живее чрез вярата си.

5 ¶ Even more than he who is given over to wine, the transposer, the proud man, shall not remain, who enlarges his desire as Sheol and is as death and cannot be satisfied, but gathered unto him all the Gentiles and heaps unto him all the peoples;

При това, понеже виното е коварник, Той е високоумен човек, който не мирува, Който разширява охотата си като преизподня, И, като смъртта, не се насища, Но събира при себе си всичките народи, И натрупва при себе си всичките племена.

6 S hall not all these take up a parable against him and a taunting enigma against him and say, Woe to him that multiplied that which was not his! And for how long would he pile thick clay upon himself?

Против такъв няма ли всички тия да съставят притча, И против него присмивателна поговорка? като рекат: Горко на онзи, който натрупва <много> <нещо>, което не е негово! - до кога? - И който товари себе си със залози!

7 S hall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee and awake those that shall take thy place, and thou shalt be for a prey unto them?

Няма ли да станат внезапно ония, които ще те хапят чрез лихоимство, И да се подигнат ония, които ще те правят окаян, Та ти да им станеш за плячка?

8 B ecause thou hast spoiled many nations, all the other peoples shall spoil thee because of human blood and for the robberies of the land, of the cities, and of all that dwell therein.

Понеже ти обра много народи, Всички останали от племената ще те оберат, Поради кръвта на човеците, И поради насилието извършено <от тебе> на земята, На града и на всичките му жители.

9 W oe to him that covets ill-gotten gain by violence for his house that he may set his nest on high, that he may escape from the power of evil!

Горко на онзи, който придобива неправедна печалба за дома си За да постави гнездото си на високо, Та да се избави от силата на бедствието!

10 T hou hast taken shameful counsel for thy house by cutting off many peoples and hast committed a sin against thy life.

Ти си намислил <онова, което ще докара> срам на дома ти Като си изтребил много племена, И си съгрешил против своята си душа.

11 F or the stone shall cry out from the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

Защото камъкът ще извика из стената, И гредата из дърветата ще му отговори.

12 W oe to him that builds the city with blood and founds the village with iniquity!

Горко на онзи, който гради град с кръв, И утвърждава град с неправда!

13 I s this not of the LORD of the hosts? Therefore the peoples shall labour for the fire, and the Gentiles shall weary themselves in vain.

Ето, не е ли от Господа на Силите това, Гдето се трудят племената за огъня, И народите се мъчат за суетата?

14 F or the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

Защото земята ще бъде пълна Със знанието на славата Господна, Както водите покриват морето.

15 ¶ Woe unto him that gives his neighbours drink, that puts thy bottle to them, and makes them drunken also, that thou may look on their nakedness!

Горко на онзи, който напоява ближния си, - На тебе, който изливаш яростта си, още ги и опиваш, За да гледаш голотата им!

16 T hou hast filled thyself with dishonour instead of honour; drink thou also, and thy foreskin shall be uncovered; the cup of the LORD’s right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful vomit shall fall upon thy glory.

Напълнил си се със срам, а не със слава; Пий и ти, и нека се открие краекожието ти, Чашата на десницата Господна ще се обърне към тебе, И гнусно безчестие ще бъде върху славата ти.

17 F or the violence of Lebanon shall fall upon thee and the destruction of the wild beasts shall break thee, because of the human blood, and of the robbery of the land, of the cities, and of all that dwell therein.

Защото неправдата <ти> към Ливан ще те покрие, И изтребването на уплашените животни, Поради кръвта на човеците, И насилието извършено <от тебе> на земята, На града и на всичките му жители.

18 O f what profit is the graven image that its maker has sculpted; the molten image, that teaches lies, so that in making dumb images the maker trusts in his work?

Какво ползва изваяният идол, Та го е изваял художника му? - Или леяният идол, учителят на лъжата, Та уповава творителят му на делото си, Тъй щото да прави неми идоли?

19 W oe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise! Can it ever teach? Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all within it.

Горко на онзи, който казва на дървото: Събуди се! - На немия камък: Дигни се! Той ли ще <го> научи? Ето, той е обкован със злато и сребро, И няма никакво дишане в него.

20 B ut the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Но Господ е в светия Си храм; Млъкни пред Него, цяла земльо.
