1 ¶ And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah, the son of Oded;

Тогава Божият дух дойде на Азария, Одидовия син,

2 a nd he went out to meet Asa and said unto him, Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: The LORD is with you, while ye are with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

и излезе да посрещне Аса и му рече: Слушайте ме, Асо и целий Юдо и Вениамине: Господ е с вас докато сте вие с Него; и ако Го търсите, ще бъде намерен от вас, но ако Го оставите, Той ще ви остави.

3 F or many days Israel has been without the true God, and without a priest and without a teacher and without law,

Дълго време Израил остана без истинския Бог, без свещеник, който да поучава, и без закон;

4 b ut when they in their trouble turned unto the LORD God of Israel and sought him, he was found of them.

но когато в бедствието си се обърнаха към Господа Израилевия Бог и Го потърсиха, Той биде намерен от тях.

5 A nd in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great destruction upon all the inhabitants of the lands.

И в ония времена не е имало мир нито за излизащия, нито за влизащия, но големи смутове върху всичките жители на земите.

6 A nd one Gentile destroyed the other, and one city the other; for God discomforted them with all adversity.

Народ се сломяваше от народ, и град от град; защото Бог ги смущаваше с всякакво бедствие.

7 B e ye strong, therefore, and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.

А вие се усилвайте, и да не ослабват ръцете ви; защото делото ви ще се възнагради.

8 ¶ And when Asa heard the words and prophecy of Oded, the prophet, he was comforted and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin and out of the cities which he had taken in Mount Ephraim and repaired the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.

И когато чу Аса тия думи и предсказанието на пророк Одида, ободри се, и отмахна мерзостите от цялата Юдова и Вениаминова земя, и от градовете, които бе отнел от Ефремовата хълмиста земя; и поднови Господния олтар, който бе пред Господния трем.

9 A nd he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon, for many of Israel had gone over to him, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

И събра целия Юда и Вениамина, и живеещите между тях пришелци от Ефрема, Манасия и Симеона; защото мнозина от Израиля прибягваха при него като виждаха, че Господ неговият Бог бе с него.

10 S o they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.

Те се събраха в Ерусалим в третия месец, в петнадесетата година от царуването на Аса.

11 A nd they offered unto the LORD the same day, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.

В това време принесоха жертви Господу от донесените користи, седемстотин говеда и седем хиляди овци.

12 A nd they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;

И стъпиха в завет да търсят Господа Бога на бащите си от цялото си сърце и от цялата си душа,

13 t hat whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

и да се умъртвява всеки, малък или голям, мъж или жена, който не би потърсил Господа Израилевия Бог.

14 A nd they swore unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting and with trumpets and with shofar.

И заклеха се Господу със силен глас, с възклицание, с тръби, и с рогове.

15 A nd all those of Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them; and the LORD gave them rest round about.

И целият Юда се развесели поради клетвата; защото се заклеха от цялото си сърце, и потърсиха <Бога> с цялата си воля; и Той биде намерен от тях, и Господ им даде покой от всякъде.

16 A nd also concerning Maachah, the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa cut down her idol and stamped it and burnt it at the brook Kidron.

А още и майка си Мааха цар Аса свали да не бъде царица, понеже тя бе направила отвратителен идол на Ашера; и Аса съсече нейния идол, стри го, та го изгори при потока Кедрон.

17 B ut with all this the high places were not taken away out of Israel; nevertheless, the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.

Но високите места не се премахнаха от Израиля; сърцето, обаче, на Аса бе съвършено през всичките му дни.

18 A nd he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated and that he himself had dedicated, silver and gold and vessels.

И той донесе в Божия дом посветените от баща му вещи, и посветените от самия него, сребро, злато и съдове.

19 A nd there was no more war until the year thirty-five of the reign of Asa.

И нямаше вече война до тридесет и петата година от царуването на Аса.
