1 Я , прежде всего, прошу тебя: совершайте молитвы, прося, ходатайствуя и благодаря за всех людей,

¶ I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men,

2 з а царей и за всех находящихся у власти, чтобы у нас была возможность жить мирно и спокойно в благочестии и достоинстве.

for kings, and for all that are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and integrity.

3 Э то хорошо и приятно Богу, нашему Спасителю,

For this is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Saviour,

4 в едь Он хочет, чтобы все люди были спасены и познали истину.

who desires that all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5 « Бог един», един и посредник между Богом и человеком – это Человек Иисус Христос.

For there is only one God and likewise only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

6 О н отдал Самого Себя как выкуп за всех людей, Он – свидетельство Бога миру, данное в свое время.

who gave himself in ransom for all, the testimony of which was confirmed at the time,

7 П оэтому я и был поставлен глашатаем, апостолом и учителем истинной веры для других народов, и я говорю вам правду, не лгу.

of which I am ordained a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth in Christ and do not lie), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8 П оэтому я хочу, чтобы мужчины, оставив гнев и споры, поднимали на всяком месте чистые руки в молитве.

I desire, therefore, that the men in every place, pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and strife.

9 Т акже и женщинам следует одеваться скромно и пристойно, соблюдая приличия; пусть они украшают себя не плетением волос, золотом, жемчугом и дорогой одеждой,

¶ In like manner also that the women adorn themselves in an honest manner, with shyness and modesty, not with ostentatious hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing

10 а добрыми делами, которыми и следует заниматься женщинам, посвятившим себя Богу.

but with good works (as becomes women professing godliness).

11 П усть женщины учатся тихо, в полной покорности.

Let the woman learn, becoming silent in all subjection.

12 Я не позволяю женщине учить или же руководить мужчиной; ей следует молчать.

For I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over a mature man, but to be at rest.

13 В едь первым был сотворен Адам, а потом Ева,

For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

14 и обманут был не Адам, а женщина, именно она поддалась лжи и совершила грех.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived in the rebellion;

15 Н о женщина будет спасена, рожая детей, если будет жить в вере и любви, свято и благоразумно.

notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if she continues in faith and charity and sanctification and modesty.
