1 ¶ Amonesto pues, ante todo, a que se hagan rogativas, oraciones, peticiones, acciones de gracias, por todos los hombres;

¶ I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men,

2 p or los reyes y por todos los que están en eminencia: que vivamos quieta y reposadamente en toda piedad e integridad.

for kings, and for all that are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and integrity.

3 P orque esto es lo bueno y agradable delante del Dios Salvador nuestro;

For this is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Saviour,

4 e l cual quiere que todos los hombres sean salvos, y que vengan al conocimiento de la verdad.

who desires that all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5 P orque hay un solo Dios, asimismo un solo Mediador entre Dios y los hombres, el hombre Cristo Jesús,

For there is only one God and likewise only one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

6 e l cual se dio a sí mismo en redención por todos: el testimonio del cual fue confirmado en su tiempo;

who gave himself in ransom for all, the testimony of which was confirmed at the time,

7 d el cual yo soy puesto por predicador y apóstol (digo verdad en Cristo, no miento), maestro de los gentiles en fidelidad y verdad.

of which I am ordained a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth in Christ and do not lie), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8 Q uiero, pues, que los varones oren en todo lugar, levantando manos limpias, sin ira ni contienda.

I desire, therefore, that the men in every place, pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and strife.

9 ¶ Asimismo también las mujeres, ataviándose de manera honesta, con pudor y modestia; no con peinado ostentoso, u oro, o perlas, o vestidos costosos,

¶ In like manner also that the women adorn themselves in an honest manner, with shyness and modesty, not with ostentatious hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing

10 s ino de buenas obras, como conviene a mujeres que profesan piedad.

but with good works (as becomes women professing godliness).

11 L a mujer aprenda, callando con toda sujeción.

Let the woman learn, becoming silent in all subjection.

12 P orque no permito a una mujer enseñar, ni tomar autoridad sobre el varón, sino estar reposada.

For I do not allow a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over a mature man, but to be at rest.

13 P orque Adán fue formado primero; luego Eva;

For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

14 y Adán no fue engañado, sino la mujer fue engañada en la rebelión;

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived in the rebellion;

15 p ero se salvará engendrando hijos, si permaneciere en la fe y caridad y en la santificación, y modestia.

notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if she continues in faith and charity and sanctification and modesty.
