1 P asados estos negocios, aconteció que Nabot de Jezreel tenía en Jezreel una viña junto al palacio de Acab rey de Samaria.

¶ And it came to pass after these things that Naboth of Jezreel had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, next to the palace of Ahab, king of Samaria.

2 Y Acab habló a Nabot, diciendo: Dame tu viña para un huerto de legumbres, porque está cercana, junto a mi casa, y yo te daré por ella otra viña mejor que ésta; o si mejor te pareciere, te pagaré su valor en dinero.

And Ahab spoke unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard that I may have it for a garden of herbs because it is next to my house, and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or if it seems good unto thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.

3 Y Nabot respondió a Acab: Guárdeme el SEÑOR de que yo te dé a ti la heredad de mis padres.

And Naboth replied unto Ahab, The LORD keep me from giving thee the inheritance of my fathers.

4 Y vino Acab a su casa triste y enojado, por la palabra que Nabot de Jezreel le había respondido, diciendo: No te daré la heredad de mis padres. Y se acostó en su cama, y volvió su rostro, y no comió pan.

And Ahab came into his house, sad and angry, because of the word which Naboth of Jezreel had spoken to him, for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he lay down upon his bed and turned away his face and would eat no bread.

5 Y vino a él su mujer Jezabel, y le dijo: ¿Por qué está tan triste tu espíritu, y no comes pan?

¶ And Jezebel, his wife, came to him and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad that thou dost eat no bread?

6 Y él respondió: Porque hablé con Nabot de Jezreel, y le dije que me diera su viña por dinero, o que, si más quería, le daría otra viña por ella; y él respondió: Yo no te daré mi viña.

And he said unto her, Because I spoke with Naboth of Jezreel and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it; and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.

7 Y su mujer Jezabel le dijo: ¿Eres tú ahora rey sobre Israel? Levántate, y come pan, y alégrate; yo te daré la viña de Nabot de Jezreel.

And Jezebel, his wife, said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise and eat bread and let thy heart be merry; I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth of Jezreel.

8 E ntonces ella escribió cartas en nombre de Acab, y las selló con su anillo y las envió a los ancianos y a los principales que moraban en su ciudad con Nabot.

So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city dwelling with Naboth.

9 Y las cartas que escribió decían así: Proclamad ayuno, y poned a Nabot a la cabecera del pueblo;

And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast and set Naboth at the head of the people

10 y poned dos hombres, hijos de Belial, delante de él, que atestigüen contra él, y digan: Tú has blasfemado a Dios y al rey. Y entonces sacadlo, y apedreadlo, para que muera.

and set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out and stone him that he may die.

11 Y los de su ciudad, los ancianos y los principales que moraban en su ciudad, lo hicieron como Jezabel les mandó, conforme a lo escrito en las cartas que ella les había enviado.

And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.

12 Y promulgaron ayuno, y asentaron a Nabot a la cabecera del pueblo.

They proclaimed a fast and set Naboth at the head of the people.

13 V inieron entonces los dos hombres, hijos de Belial, y se sentaron delante de él; aquellos hombres de Belial atestiguaron contra Nabot delante del pueblo, diciendo: Nabot ha blasfemado a Dios y al rey. Y lo sacaron fuera de la ciudad, y lo apedrearon con piedras, y murió.

Then the two men, sons of Belial, came in and sat before him; and those men of Belial witnessed against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth blasphemed God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones that he died.

14 D espués enviaron a decir a Jezabel: Nabot ha sido apedreado y ha muerto.

Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth has been stoned and is dead.

15 Y cuando Jezabel oyó que Nabot había sido apedreado y muerto, dijo a Acab: Levántate y posee la viña de Nabot de Jezreel, que no te la quiso dar por dinero; porque Nabot no vive, sino que ha muerto.

And it came to pass when Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned and was dead that she said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth of Jezreel which he refused to give thee for money, for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

16 ¶ Y oyendo Acab que Nabot había muerto, se levantó para descender a la viña de Nabot de Jezreel, para tomar posesión de ella.

And it came to pass when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth of Jezreel, to take possession of it.

17 E ntonces vino palabra del SEÑOR a Elías tisbita, diciendo:

¶ Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah, the Tishbite, saying,

18 L evántate, desciende a encontrarte con Acab rey de Israel, que está en Samaria; he aquí él está en la viña de Nabot, a la cual ha descendido para tomar posesión de ella.

Arise, go down to meet Ahab, king of Israel, who is in Samaria; behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he is gone down to possess it.

19 Y le hablarás, diciendo: Así dijo el SEÑOR: ¿No cometiste homicidio y también has despojado? Y tornarás a hablarle, diciendo: Así dijo el SEÑOR: En el mismo lugar donde lamieron los perros la sangre de Nabot, los perros lamerán también tu sangre, la tuya misma.

And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus hath the LORD said, Hast thou murdered and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him again, saying, Thus hath the LORD said, In the same place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall the dogs also lick thy blood, even thine.

20 Y Acab dijo a Elías: ¿Me has hallado, enemigo mío? Y él respondió: Te he encontrado, porque te has vendido a mal hacer delante del SEÑOR,

And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O my enemy? And he answered, I have found thee because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

21 h e aquí yo traigo mal sobre ti, y quemaré tu posteridad, y talaré de Acab todo meante a la pared, al guardado y al quedado en Israel.

Behold, I will bring evil upon thee and will burn away thy posterity and will cut off from Ahab him that pisses against the wall and he that is kept and he that is left in Israel.

22 Y yo pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahías; por la provocación con que me provocaste a ira, y con que has hecho que Israel pecara.

And I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha, the son of Ahijah, for the provocation with which thou hast provoked me to anger and made Israel to sin.

23 D e Jezabel también ha hablado el SEÑOR, diciendo: Los perros comerán a Jezabel en la barbacana de Jezreel.

And of Jezebel, the LORD has also spoken, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.

24 E l que de Acab fuere muerto en la ciudad, los perros le comerán; y el que fuere muerto en el campo, lo comerán las aves del cielo.

Him that dies of Ahab in the city, the dogs shall eat, and him that dies in the field, shall the fowls of the air eat.

25 ( A la verdad ninguno fue como Acab, que se vendió para hacer lo malo delante de los ojos del SEÑOR; porque Jezabel su mujer lo incitaba.

(Truly there was none like unto Ahab, who sold himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, because Jezebel his wife incited him.

26 E l fue en gran manera abominable, caminando en pos de los ídolos, conforme a todo lo que hicieron los amorreos, a los cuales lanzó el SEÑOR delante de los hijos de Israel).

He was very abominable, following idols, according to all the things that the Amorites did, whom the LORD cast out before the sons of Israel.)

27 Y acaeció cuando Acab oyó estas palabras, que rasgó sus vestidos, y puso cilicio sobre su carne, y ayunó, y durmió en cilicio, y anduvo humillado.

And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh and fasted and slept in sackcloth and went softly.

28 E ntonces vino palabra del SEÑOR a Elías, el tisbita, diciendo:

Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah, the Tishbite, saying,

29 ¿ No has visto como Acab se ha humillado delante de mí? Pues por cuanto se ha humillado delante de mí, no traeré el mal en sus días; en los días de su hijo traeré el mal sobre su casa.

Seest thou how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days, but in his son’s days I will bring the evil upon his house.
