1 M as el séptimo año se animó Joiada, y tomó a los centuriones, a Azarías hijo de Jeroham, a Ismael hijo de Johanán, a Azarías hijo de Obed, a Maasías hijo de Adaía, y a Elisafat hijo de Zicri, y entró en pacto con ellos;

¶ And in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah, the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael, the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah, the son of Obed, and Maaseiah, the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat, the son of Zichri, into covenant with him.

2 l os cuales rodeando Judá, juntaron a los levitas de todas las ciudades de Judá, y a las cabezas de los padres de Israel, y vinieron a Jerusalén.

And they went about in Judah and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah and the heads of the fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

3 Y toda la congregación hizo pacto con el rey en la Casa de Dios. Y él les dijo: He aquí el hijo del rey, el cual reinará, como el SEÑOR lo tiene dicho de los hijos de David.

And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king’s son who shall reign, as the LORD has said of the sons of David.

4 L o que habéis de hacer es: la tercera parte de vosotros, los que entran el sábado, estarán de porteros a las puertas con los sacerdotes y los levitas;

This is the thing that ye must do: A third part of you, those who enter on the sabbath, shall be porters at the doors with the priests and the Levites;

5 u na tercera parte, a la casa del rey; y otra tercera parte, a la puerta del Cimiento; y todo el pueblo estará en los atrios de la Casa del SEÑOR.

and a third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation; and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the LORD.

6 Y ninguno entre en la Casa del SEÑOR, sino los sacerdotes y los levitas que sirven; éstos entrarán, porque son santos; y todo el pueblo hará la guardia del SEÑOR.

But let no one come into the house of the LORD, except the priests and the Levites that minister; they shall go in, for they are holy; but all the people shall keep the watch of the LORD.

7 Y los levitas rodearán al rey por todas partes, y cada uno tendrá sus armas en la mano; y cualquier extraño que entrare en la Casa, morirá; y estaréis con el rey cuando entrare, y cuando saliere.

And the Levites shall compass the king round about, each one shall have his weapons in his hand; and whoever else comes into the house shall be put to death; and ye shall be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out.

8 Y los levitas y todo Judá lo hicieron todo como lo había mandado el sacerdote Joiada; y tomó cada uno los suyos, los que entraban el sábado, y los que salían el sábado; porque el sacerdote Joiada no dio licencia a las compañías.

So the Levites and all Judah did according to all the things that Jehoiada, the priest, had commanded, and each one took his men, those that were to come in on the sabbath with those that were to go out on the sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest did not dismiss the courses.

9 D io también el sacerdote Joiada a los centuriones las lanzas, los paveses y los escudos que habían sido del rey David, que estaban en la Casa de Dios;

Moreover, Jehoiada, the priest, delivered to the captains of hundreds spears and bucklers and shields, that had been king David’s, which were in the house of God.

10 y puso en orden a todo el pueblo, teniendo cada uno su espada en la mano, desde el rincón derecho de la Casa hasta el izquierdo, hacia el altar y la Casa, en derredor del rey por todas partes.

And he set all the people in order, each one having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, by the king round about.

11 E ntonces sacaron al hijo del rey, y le pusieron la corona y el Testimonio, y le hicieron rey; y Joiada y sus hijos lo ungieron, diciendo: ¡Viva el rey!

Then they brought out the king’s son and put the crown upon him and gave him the testimony and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him and said, Long live the king.

12 Y cuando Atalía oyó el estruendo del pueblo que corría, y de los que alababan al rey, vino al pueblo en la Casa del SEÑOR;

¶ Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running of those that were praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD:

13 y mirando, vio al rey que estaba junto a su columna a la entrada, y los príncipes y los trompetas junto al rey, y que todo el pueblo de la tierra hacía alegrías, y sonaban las trompetas, y cantaban con instrumentos de música los que sabían alabar. Entonces Atalía rasgó sus vestidos, y dijo: ¡Conjuración, conjuración!

And she looked and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entrance and the princes and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced and sounded with trumpets, and those that knew how to praise sang with instruments of music. Then Athaliah rent her clothes and said, Treason, Treason.

14 Y sacando el sumo sacerdote Joiada los centuriones y capitanes del ejército, les dijo: Sacadla fuera de la Casa; y el que la siguiere, muera a espada; porque el sacerdote había mandado que no la mataran en la Casa del SEÑOR.

Then Jehoiada, the priest, brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host and said unto them, Remove her from the order of the house, and whoever follows her, let them be slain with the sword. For the priest had commanded, Slay her not in the house of the LORD.

15 Y ellos pusieron las manos en ella, y ella entró en la entrada de la puerta de los caballos de la casa del rey, y allí la mataron.

So they laid hands on her, and she entered into the entrance of the horse gate of the king’s house, and they slew her there.

16 ¶ Y Joiada hizo pacto entre sí y todo el pueblo y el rey, que serían pueblo del SEÑOR.

And Jehoiada made a covenant between him and between all the people and between the king that they should be the LORD’s people.

17 D espués de esto llegó todo el pueblo a la casa de Baal, y lo derribaron, y también sus altares; y quebraron sus imágenes, y mataron delante de los altares a Matán, sacerdote de Baal.

Then all the people went to the house of Baal and broke it down and broke in pieces his altars and his images and slew Mattan, the priest of Baal, before the altars.

18 L uego ordenó Joiada los oficios en la Casa del SEÑOR bajo la mano de los sacerdotes levitas, según David los había distribuido en la Casa del SEÑOR, para ofrecer al SEÑOR los holocaustos, como está escrito en la ley de Moisés, con gozo y cantares, conforme a la ordenación de David.

Also Jehoiada ordered the offices of the house of the LORD under the hand of the priests, the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as it was ordained by David.

19 P uso también porteros a las puertas de la Casa del SEÑOR, para que por ninguna vía entrara ningún inmundo.

He also set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD so that there should be no way for anyone who was unclean to enter in.

20 T omó después los centuriones, y los principales, y los que gobernaban el pueblo; y a todo el pueblo de la tierra, y llevó al rey desde la Casa del SEÑOR; y viniendo por medio de la puerta mayor de la casa del rey, sentaron al rey sobre el trono del reino.

Then he took the captains of hundreds and the nobles and those that governed the people and all the people of the land and brought down the king from the house of the LORD; and they came through the high gate into the king’s house and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom.

21 Y todo el pueblo del país hizo alegrías; y la ciudad tuvo reposo; después que mataron a Atalía a espada.

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was at rest after they had slain Athaliah with the sword.
