1 P alabra que vino a Jeremías acerca de todos los judíos que moraban en la tierra de Egipto, que moraban en Migdol, en Tafnes, en Menfis, y en tierra de Patros, diciendo:

¶ The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwelt in the land of Egypt, which dwelt at Migdol and at Tahpanhes and at Noph and in the country of Pathros, saying,

2 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Vosotros habéis visto todo el mal que traje sobre Jerusalén y sobre todas las ciudades de Judá; y he aquí que ellas están el día de hoy asoladas; ni hay en ellas morador;

Thus hath the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel said: Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwells therein,

3 a causa de la maldad de ellos que cometieron, haciéndome enojar, yendo a ofrecer sahumerios, honrando dioses ajenos que ellos no habían conocido, vosotros, ni vuestros padres.

because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.

4 Y envié a vosotros a todos mis siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos, diciendo: No hagáis ahora esta cosa abominable que yo aborrezco.

Howbeit I sent unto you all my slaves the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.

5 M as no oyeron ni inclinaron su oído para convertirse de su maldad, para no ofrecer sahumerios a dioses ajenos.

But they did not hearken, nor incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.

6 S e derramó, por tanto, mi saña y mi furor, y se encendió en las ciudades de Judá y en las plazas de Jerusalén, y se tornaron en soledad y en destrucción, como hoy.

Therefore my fury and my anger was poured forth and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.

7 A hora, pues, así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: ¿Por qué hacéis tan grande mal contra vuestras almas, para ser talados varón y mujer, niño y mamante, de en medio de Judá, ¿para qué no os deseáis remanente?

Therefore now thus hath the LORD, the God of the hosts, the God of Israel said: Why do ye commit this great evil against your souls, that ye be cut off, man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah. Why do ye not desire to have a remnant?

8 H aciéndome enojar por las obras de vuestras manos, ofreciendo sahumerios a dioses ajenos en la tierra de Egipto, adonde habéis entrado para morar, ¿para qué os acabéis, y seáis por maldición y por oprobio a todos los gentiles de la tierra?

In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, where ye are gone to dwell. Why do ye cut yourselves off that ye might be a curse and a reproach to all the Gentiles of the earth?

9 ¿ Os habéis olvidado de las maldades de vuestros padres, y de las maldades de los reyes de Judá, y de las maldades de sus mujeres, y de vuestras maldades propias, y de las maldades de vuestras mujeres, que hicieron en tierra de Judá y en las plazas de Jerusalén?

Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which was committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

10 N o se han quebrantado hasta el día de hoy, ni han tenido temor, ni han caminado en mi ley, ni en mis derechos que puse delante de vosotros y delante de vuestros padres.

They are not broken even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my rights, that I set before you and before your fathers.

11 P or tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo pongo mi rostro en vosotros para mal, y para acabar a todo Judá.

Therefore thus hath the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel said: Behold, I will set my face against you for evil and to cut off all Judah.

12 Y tomaré el remanente de Judá que pusieron sus rostros para entrar en tierra de Egipto para morar allí, y todos serán consumidos en tierra de Egipto; caerán a espada, serán consumidos de hambre; de espada y hambre morirán desde el más pequeño hasta el mayor; y serán por juramento, y por espanto, y por maldición, y por oprobio.

And I will take the remnant of Judah that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to dwell there, and they shall all be consumed and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine; they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine; and they shall be for an oath and an astonishment and a curse and a reproach.

13 Y visitaré a los que moran en tierra de Egipto, como visité a Jerusalén, con espada, con hambre, y con pestilencia.

For I will visit those that dwell in the land of Egypt as I visited Jerusalem with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence:

14 Y del remanente de Judá que entraron en tierra de Egipto para morar allí, no habrá quien escape, ni quien quede vivo, para volver a la tierra de Judá, por la cual suspiran ellos por volver para habitar allí; porque no volverán sino algunos fugitivos.

so that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall escape or remain alive to return into the land of Judah, unto which they have a desire to return to dwell there; for none shall return but some fugitives.

15 E ntonces todos los que sabían que sus mujeres habían ofrecido sahumerios a dioses ajenos, y todas las mujeres que estaban presentes, una gran concurrencia, y todo el pueblo que habitaba en tierra de Egipto, en Patros, respondieron a Jeremías, diciendo:

¶ Then all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

16 L a palabra que nos has hablado en nombre del SEÑOR, no la oiremos de ti;

As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.

17 a ntes pondremos ciertamente por obra toda palabra que ha salido de nuestra boca, para ofrecer sahumerios a la reina del cielo, y derramándole libaciones, como hemos hecho nosotros y nuestros padres, nuestros reyes y nuestros príncipes, en las ciudades de Judá y en las plazas de Jerusalén, y fuimos llenos de pan, y estuvimos alegres, y nunca vimos mal.

But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goes forth out of our own mouth to burn incense unto the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings unto her as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

18 M as desde que cesamos de ofrecer sahumerios a la reina del cielo, y de derramarle libaciones, nos falta todo, y a espada y a hambre somos consumidos.

But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have lacked all things and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

19 Y cuando nosotras ofrecimos sahumerios a la reina del cielo, y le derramamos libaciones, ¿Por ventura le hicimos tortas para tributarle culto, y le derramamos libaciones, sin nuestros maridos?

And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

20 Y habló Jeremías a todo el pueblo, a los hombres y a las mujeres, y a todo el vulgo que le había respondido esto, diciendo:

¶ Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people who had given him that answer, saying,

21 ¿ Por ventura no se ha acordado el SEÑOR, y no ha venido a su memoria el sahumerio que ofrecisteis en las ciudades de Judá, y en las plazas de Jerusalén, vosotros y vuestros padres, vuestros reyes y vuestros príncipes, y el pueblo de la tierra?

The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them and did it not come into his mind?

22 Y no pudo sufrir más el SEÑOR a causa de la maldad de vuestras obras, a causa de las abominaciones que habíais hecho; por tanto, vuestra tierra fue puesta en asolamiento, en espanto, y en maldición, hasta no quedar morador, como sucede hoy.

So that the LORD could no longer bear because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation and an astonishment and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.

23 P orque ofrecisteis sahumerios, y pecasteis contra el SEÑOR, y no escuchasteis la voz del SEÑOR, ni anduvisteis en su ley, ni en sus derechos, ni en sus testimonios; por tanto, ha venido sobre vosotros este mal, como sucede hoy.

Because ye have burned incense and because ye have sinned against the LORD and have not listened to the voice of the LORD nor walked in his law nor in his rights, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil has come upon you, as at this day.

24 Y dijo Jeremías a todo el pueblo, y a todas las mujeres: Oíd palabra del SEÑOR, todos los de Judá que estáis en tierra de Egipto:

Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:

25 A sí habló el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, diciendo: Vosotros y vuestras mujeres proferisteis con vuestra boca, y con vuestras manos lo ejecutasteis, diciendo: Cumpliremos efectivamente nuestros votos que hicimos, de ofrecer sahumerios a la reina del cielo y de derramarle libaciones; confirmáis a la verdad vuestros votos, y ponéis vuestros votos por obra.

Thus hath spoken the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel, saying: Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings unto her; ye will surely accomplish your vows and surely perform your vows.

26 P or tanto, oíd palabra del SEÑOR, todo Judá que habitáis en tierra de Egipto: He aquí que yo juré por mi grande Nombre, dijo el SEÑOR, que mi Nombre no será más invocado de ningún varón judío, que diga: Vive el Señor DIOS, en toda la tierra de Egipto.

Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, said the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD lives.

27 H e aquí que yo velo sobre ellos para mal, y no para bien; y todos los varones de Judá que están en tierra de Egipto, serán consumidos a espada y a hambre, hasta que sean consumidos.

Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine until there is an end of them.

28 Y los que escaparen de la espada, volverán de tierra de Egipto a tierra de Judá, pocos hombres; para que sepa todo el remanente de Judá, que han entrado en Egipto para morar allí, la palabra de quién ha de permanecer, si la mía, o la suya.

Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, so that all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.

29 Y esto tendréis por señal, dice el SEÑOR, de que en este lugar os visito, para que sepáis que de cierto permanecerán mis palabras para mal sobre vosotros.

And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will visit you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

30 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: He aquí que yo entrego al Faraón Hofra rey de Egipto en mano de sus enemigos, y en mano de los que buscan su alma, como entregué a Sedequías rey de Judá en mano de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, su enemigo, y que buscaba su alma.

thus hath the LORD said: Behold, I will give Pharaohhophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those that seek his soul; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his soul.
