1 Y procediendo Eliú en su razonamiento, dijo:

¶ Elihu proceeded in his reasoning and said,

2 ¿ Piensas ser conforme a derecho esto que dijiste: Más justo soy yo que Dios?

Dost thou think this to be right, when thou didst say, I am more righteous than God?

3 P orque dijiste: ¿Qué ventaja sacarás tú de ello? ¿O qué provecho tendré de mi pecado?

For thou didst say, What advantage will it be unto thee? And, What profit shall I have, if I am cleansed from my sin?

4 Y o te responderé razones, y a tus compañeros contigo.

I will answer thee and thy companions with thee.

5 M ira a los cielos, y ve, y considera que los cielos son más altos que tú.

Look unto the heavens and see; and behold the heavens which are higher than thou.

6 S i pecares, ¿qué habrás hecho contra él? Y si tus rebeliones se multiplicaren, ¿qué le harás tú?

If thou dost sin, what hast thou done against him? Or if thy rebellion is multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

7 S i fueres justo, ¿qué le darás a él? ¿O qué recibirá de tu mano?

If thou art righteous, what shalt thou give him? Or what shall he receive of thine hand?

8 A l hombre como tú dañará tu impiedad, y al hijo del hombre aprovechará tu justicia.

Thy wickedness shall hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness shall profit the son of man.

9 ¶ A causa de la gran violencia clamarán, y darán voces por la fuerza de los muchos.

¶ By reason of the great violence they shall call out; they cry out because of the strength of the many.

10 Y ninguno dirá: ¿Dónde está Dios mi hacedor, que da canciones en la noche?

But no one shall say, Where is God my maker, who gives songs in the night;

11 Q ue nos enseña más que a las bestias de la tierra, y nos hace sabios más que las aves del cielo.

who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

12 A llí clamarán, y él no oirá, por la soberbia de los malos.

There they shall cry, but he shall give no answer because of the pride of those that are evil.

13 C iertamente Dios no oirá la vanidad, ni la mirará el Omnipotente.

Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty look upon it.

14 A unque más digas, no lo mirará; haz juicio delante de él, y espera en él.

¶ For much that thou dost say, he will not look upon it, submit to judgment before him, and trust thou in him.

15 M as ahora, porque no visitó en su ira, ni se conoce con rigor,

But now, because he has not visited in wrath; nor is it known in great extremity;

16 p or eso Job abrió su boca vanamente, y multiplica palabras sin conocimiento.

therefore, Job opened his mouth in vain and multiplied words without knowledge.
