1 E n el mes octavo, en el año segundo de Darío, vino palabra del SEÑOR a Zacarías profeta, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo, diciendo:

¶ In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,

2 S e airó el SEÑOR con ira contra vuestros padres.

The LORD has been sore displeased with your fathers.

3 L es dirás pues: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Volveos a mí, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y yo me volveré a vosotros, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said; Turn unto me, said the LORD of the hosts, and I will turn unto you, said the LORD of the hosts.

4 N o seáis como vuestros padres, a los cuales dieron voces los primeros profetas, diciendo: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Volveos ahora de vuestros malos caminos, y de vuestras malas obras: y nunca oyeron, ni me atendieron, dijo el SEÑOR.

Do not be as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said; Turn now from your evil ways and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, said the LORD.

5 V uestros padres, ¿dónde están? Y los profetas, ¿han de vivir para siempre?

Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?

6 P ero mis palabras y mis ordenanzas que mandé a mis siervos los profetas, ¿no alcanzaron a vuestros padres? Por eso se volvieron ellos del cautiverio y dijeron: Como el SEÑOR de los ejércitos pensó tratarnos conforme a nuestros caminos, y conforme a nuestras obras, así lo hizo con nosotros.

But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my slaves the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? Therefore they returned from captivity and said, Like as the LORD of the hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways and according to our doings, so has he dealt with us.

7 A los veinticuatro del mes undécimo, que es el mes de Sebat, en el año segundo de Darío, vino palabra del SEÑOR a Zacarías profeta, hijo de Berequías, hijo de Iddo, diciendo:

¶ Upon the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, saying,

8 V i de noche, y he aquí un varón que cabalgaba sobre un caballo bermejo, el cual estaba entre los arrayanes que había en la hondura; y detrás de él había caballos bermejos, overos, y blancos.

I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him there were red horses, speckled, and white.

9 Y yo dije: ¿Quiénes son éstos, señor mío? Y me dijo el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Yo te enseñaré quiénes son éstos.

Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will show thee who these are.

10 Y aquel varón que estaba entre los arrayanes respondió, y dijo: Estos son los que el SEÑOR ha enviado para que anden la tierra.

And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are those whom the LORD has sent to walk to and fro through the earth.

11 Y ellos hablaron a aquel ángel del SEÑOR que estaba entre los arrayanes, y dijeron: Hemos andado la tierra, y he aquí toda la tierra está reposada y quieta.

And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees and said, We have walked to and fro through the land, and, behold, all the earth sits still and is at rest.

12 Y respondió el ángel del SEÑOR, y dijo: Oh SEÑOR de los ejércitos, ¿hasta cuándo tendrás piedad de Jerusalén, y de las ciudades de Judá, con las cuales has estado airado por espacio de setenta años?

Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of the hosts, when wilt thou have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these seventy years?

13 Y el SEÑOR respondió buenas palabras, palabras consoladoras a aquel ángel que hablaba conmigo.

And the LORD answered good words unto the angel that talked with me, words of consolation.

14 Y me dijo el ángel que hablaba conmigo: Clama diciendo: Así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Celé a Jerusalén y a Sion con gran celo;

So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of the hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

15 Y con gran enojo estoy airado contra los gentiles que están reposados; porque yo estaba enojado un poco, y ellos ayudaron para el mal.

And I am very sore displeased with the Gentiles that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

16 P or tanto, así ha dicho el SEÑOR: Yo me he tornado a Jerusalén con miseraciones; mi Casa será edificada en ella, dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y línea de albañil será tendida sobre Jerusalén.

Therefore thus hath the LORD said, I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house shall be built in her, saith the LORD of the hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.

17 C lama aún, diciendo: Así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún serán ensanchadas mis ciudades por la abundancia del bien; y aún consolará el SEÑOR a Sion, y escogerá todavía a Jerusalén.

Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of the hosts, My cities through abundance of good shall yet be widened; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

18 D espués alcé mis ojos, y miré, y he aquí cuatro cuernos.

¶ Then I lifted up my eyes and saw and behold four horns.

19 Y dije al ángel que hablaba conmigo: ¿Qué son éstos? Y me respondió: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron a Judá, a Israel, y a Jerusalén.

And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

20 M e mostró luego el SEÑOR cuatro carpinteros.

And the LORD showed me four carpenters.

21 Y yo dije: ¿Qué vienen éstos a hacer? Y me respondió, diciendo: Estos son los cuernos que aventaron a Judá, tanto que ninguno alzó su cabeza; mas éstos han venido para hacerlos temblar, para derribar los cuernos de los gentiles que alzaron el cuerno sobre la tierra de Judá para aventarla.

Then I said, What do these come to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no one lifted up his head, but these are come to cause them to tremble, to cut down the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
