1 ¶ Llegaron, pues, los dos ángeles a Sodoma a la tarde; y Lot estaba sentado a la puerta de Sodoma. Y viéndolos Lot, se levantó a recibirlos, e inclinó su faz a tierra.

¶ And the two angels came to Sodom at evening; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom, and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground,

2 Y dijo: Ahora, pues, mis señores, os ruego que vengáis a casa de vuestro siervo y os hospedéis, y lavaréis vuestros pies: y por la mañana os levantaréis, y seguiréis vuestro camino. Y ellos respondieron: No, que en la plaza dormiremos.

and he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your slave’s house and tarry all night and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early and go on your ways. And they said, No, but we will abide in the street all night.

3 M as él porfió con ellos mucho, y se vinieron con él, y entraron en su casa; y les hizo banquete, y coció panes sin levadura y comieron.

And he pressed upon them greatly, and they turned in unto him and entered into his house, and he made them a banquet and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

4 ¶ Y antes que se acostaran, cercaron la casa los hombres de la ciudad, los varones de Sodoma, todo el pueblo junto, desde el más joven hasta el más viejo;

¶ But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter;

5 y llamaron a Lot, y le dijeron: ¿Dónde están los varones que vinieron a ti esta noche? Sácanolos, para que los conozcamos.

and they called unto Lot and said unto him, Where are the men who came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us that we may know them.

6 E ntonces Lot salió a ellos a la puerta, y cerró las puertas tras sí,

And Lot went out at the door unto them and shut the door after him

7 y dijo: Hermanos míos, os ruego que no hagáis mal.

and said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.

8 H e aquí ahora yo tengo dos hijas que no han conocido varón; os las sacaré afuera, y haced de ellas como bien os pareciere; solamente a estos varones no hagáis nada, pues que vinieron a la sombra de mi tejado.

Behold now, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you and do ye to them as is good in your eyes; only unto these men do nothing, for they have come under the shadow of my roof.

9 Y ellos respondieron: Quita allá; y añadieron: Vino éste aquí para habitar como un extraño, ¿y habrá de erigirse en juez? Ahora te haremos más mal que a ellos. Y hacían gran violencia al varón, a Lot, y se acercaron para romper las puertas.

And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This fellow came in to sojourn and is he to lift himself up as judge? Now will we deal worse with thee than with them. And they did great violence to the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.

10 E ntonces los varones extendieron su mano, y metieron a Lot en casa con ellos, y cerraron las puertas.

Then the men put forth their hand and pulled Lot into the house with them and shut the door.

11 Y a los varones que estaban a la puerta de la casa desde el menor hasta el mayor, hirieron con ceguera; mas ellos se fatigaban por hallar la puerta.

And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

12 ¶ Y dijeron los varones a Lot: ¿Tienes aquí alguno más? Yernos, y tus hijos y tus hijas, y todo lo que tienes en la ciudad, sácalo de este lugar:

¶ And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou anyone else here? Sons-in-law and thy sons and thy daughters and whatever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place;

13 P orque destruiremos este lugar, por cuanto el clamor de ellos se ha engrandecido delante del SEÑOR; por tanto el SEÑOR nos ha enviado para destruirlo.

For we will destroy this place because the cry of them is waxed great before the face of the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.

14 E ntonces salió Lot, y habló a sus yernos, los que habían de tomar sus hijas, y les dijo: Levantaos, salid de este lugar; porque el SEÑOR va a destruir esta ciudad. Mas fue tenido como burlador en ojos de sus yernos.

And Lot went out and spoke unto his sons-in-law, those who were to marry his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons-in-law.

15 ¶ Y cuando el alba subía, los ángeles daban prisa a Lot, diciendo: Levántate, toma tu mujer, y tus dos hijas que se hallan aquí, para que no perezcas en la iniquidad de la ciudad.

¶ And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife and thy two daughters who are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

16 Y deteniéndose él, los varones asieron de su mano, y de la mano de su mujer, y de las manos de sus dos hijas en la misericordia del SEÑOR que era sobre él; y le sacaron, y le pusieron fuera de la ciudad.

And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand and upon the hand of his wife and upon the hand of his two daughters, the LORD being merciful unto him; and they brought him forth and set him outside the city.

17 Y fue que sacándolos fuera, dijo: Escápate; sobre tu alma; no mires tras ti, ni pares en toda esta llanura; escapa al monte, para que no perezcas.

And it came to pass as they brought them forth outside, that he said, Escape; for thy soul, do not look behind thee, neither stop thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.

18 Y Lot les dijo: No, yo os ruego, señores míos;

And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my lords;

19 h e aquí ahora ha hallado tu siervo gracia en tus ojos, y has engrandecido tu misericordia que has hecho conmigo dándome la vida; mas yo no podré escapar al monte, que por ventura no se me pegue el mal, y muera.

behold now, thy slave has found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast showed unto me in saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die.

20 H e aquí ahora esta ciudad está cercana para huir allá, la cual es pequeña; escaparé ahora allá, (¿no es ella pequeña?) y vivirá mi alma.

Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one; Oh, let me escape there, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.

21 Y le respondió: He aquí he recibido también tu súplica sobre esto, para no destruir la ciudad de que has hablado.

And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also that I will not overthrow the city for which thou hast spoken.

22 D ate prisa, escápate allá; porque no podré hacer nada hasta que hayas llegado allá. Por esto fue llamado el nombre de la ciudad, Zoar.

Make thee haste, escape there; for I cannot do anything until thou hast arrived there. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.

23 E l sol salía sobre la tierra, cuando Lot llegó a Zoar.

The sun was rising upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.

24 ¶ Y el SEÑOR llovió sobre Sodoma y sobre Gomorra azufre y fuego del SEÑOR desde los cielos;

¶ Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of the heavens;

25 y trastornó las ciudades, y toda aquella llanura, con todos los moradores de aquellas ciudades, y el fruto de la tierra.

and he overthrew those cities and all that plain, with all the inhabitants of those cities, and the fruit of the ground.

26 ¶ Entonces la mujer de Lot miró atrás, a espaldas de él, y se volvió estatua de sal.

¶ Then the wife of Lot looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

27 ¶ Y subió Abraham por la mañana al lugar donde había estado delante del SEÑOR.

¶ And Abraham rose up early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD.

28 Y miró hacia Sodoma y Gomorra, y hacia toda la tierra de aquella llanura miró; y he aquí que el humo subía de la tierra como el humo de un horno.

And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of that plain and beheld that the smoke of the land went up as the smoke of a furnace.

29 Y fue que, destruyendo Dios las ciudades de la llanura, Dios se acordó de Abraham, y envió fuera a Lot de en medio de la destrucción, al asolar las ciudades donde Lot estaba.

And it came to pass as God destroyed the cities of the plain that God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the destruction when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

30 ¶ Pero Lot subió de Zoar, y se asentó en el monte, y sus dos hijas con él; porque tuvo miedo de quedar en Zoar, y se alojó en una cueva él y sus dos hijas.

¶ But Lot went up out of Zoar and dwelt in the mountain and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar; and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

31 E ntonces la mayor dijo a la menor: Nuestro padre es viejo, y no queda varón en la tierra que entre a nosotras conforme a la costumbre de toda la tierra.

Then the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man left in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth.

32 V en, demos a beber vino a nuestro padre, y durmamos con él, y conservaremos de nuestro padre generación.

Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him that we may preserve the generation of our father.

33 Y dieron a beber vino a su padre aquella noche; y entró la mayor, y durmió con su padre; mas él no supo cuándo se acostó ella, ni cuándo se levantó.

And they made their father drink wine that night; and the firstborn went in and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

34 A l día siguiente dijo la mayor a la menor: He aquí yo dormí la noche pasada con mi padre; démosle a beber vino también esta noche, y entra, duerme con él, y conservemos de nuestro padre generación.

And it came to pass on the next day that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay last night with my father; let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in and lie with him that we may preserve the generation of our father.

35 Y dieron a beber vino a su padre también aquella noche; y se levantó la menor, y durmió con él; y él no supo cuándo se acostó ella, ni cuándo se levantó.

And they made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger arose and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.

36 Y concibieron las dos hijas de Lot, de su padre.

Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.

37 Y dio a luz la mayor un hijo, y llamó su nombre Moab, el cual es padre de los moabitas hasta hoy.

And the firstborn bore a son and called his name Moab; the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

38 L a menor también dio a luz un hijo, y llamó su nombre Ben-ammi, el cual es padre de los amonitas hasta hoy.

And the younger, she also bore a son and called his name Benammi; the same is the father of the sons of Ammon unto this day.
