1 E l que habita en el escondedero del Altísimo, morará bajo la sombra del Omnipotente.

¶ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 D irá al SEÑOR: Esperanza mía, y castillo mío; mi Dios, me aseguraré en él.

I will say of the LORD, He is my hope and my fortress: my God; in him will I secure myself.

3 Y él te librará del lazo del cazador; de la mortandad que todo asuela.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the mortal pestilence.

4 C on su ala te cubrirá, y debajo de sus alas estarás seguro; escudo y adarga es su verdad.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings thou shalt be secure: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 N o tendrás temor de espanto nocturno, ni de saeta que vuele de día;

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,

6 n i de pestilencia que ande en oscuridad, ni de mortandad que destruya al mediodía.

nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 C aerán a tu lado millares, y diez millares a tu diestra; pero a ti no llegará.

Thousands shall fall at thy side and ten thousands at thy right hand, but it shall not come near thee.

8 C iertamente con tus ojos mirarás, y verás la recompensa de los impíos.

Surely with thine eyes thou shalt behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 ¶ Porque has puesto al SEÑOR, quien es mi esperanza; al Altísimo por tu habitación,

¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, who is my hope, even the most High, thy habitation,

10 n o se ordenará para ti mal, ni plaga tocará tu morada.

no evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling.

11 P orque a sus ángeles mandará acerca de ti, que te guarden en todos tus caminos.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 E n las manos te llevarán, para que tu pie no tropiece en piedra.

They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thy foot stumble against a stone.

13 S obre el león y el basilisco pisarás; hollarás al cachorro del león, y al dragón.

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 P or cuanto en mí ha puesto su voluntad, yo también lo libraré; lo pondré en alto, por cuanto ha conocido mi Nombre.

Because he has set his will upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name.

15 M e invocará, y yo le responderé; con él estaré yo en la angustia; lo libraré, y le glorificaré.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him.

16 L o saciaré de larga vida, y le mostraré mi salud.

With long life I will satisfy him and show him my saving health.
