1 C elce stă supt ocrotirea Celui Prea Înalt, şi se odihneşte la umbra Celui Atoputernic,

¶ He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 z ice despre Domnul:,, El este locul meu de scăpare, şi cetăţuia mea, Dumnezeul meu în care mă încred!``

I will say of the LORD, He is my hope and my fortress: my God; in him will I secure myself.

3 D a, El te scapă de laţul vînătorului, de ciumă şi de pustiirile ei.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the mortal pestilence.

4 E l te va acoperi cu penele Lui, şi te vei ascunde supt aripile Lui. Căci scut şi pavăză este credincioşia Lui!

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings thou shalt be secure: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 N u trebuie să te temi nici de groaza din timpul nopţii, nici de săgeata care sboară ziua,

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flies by day,

6 n ici de ciuma, care umblă în întunerec, nici de molima, care bîntuie ziua nameaza mare.

nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 O mie să cadă alături de tine, şi zece mii la dreapta ta, dar de tine nu se va apropia.

Thousands shall fall at thy side and ten thousands at thy right hand, but it shall not come near thee.

8 D oar vei privi cu ochii, şi vei vedea răsplătirea celor răi.

Surely with thine eyes thou shalt behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 P entrucă zici:,, Domnul este locul meu de adăpost!`` şi faci din Cel Prea Înalt turnul tău de scăpare,

¶ Because thou hast made the LORD, who is my hope, even the most High, thy habitation,

10 d e aceea nici o nenorocire nu te va ajunge, nici o urgie nu se va apropia de cortul tău.

no evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling.

11 C ăci El va porunci îngerilor Săi să te păzească în toate căile tale;

For he shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 ş i ei te vor duce pe mîni, ca nu cumva să-ţi loveşti piciorul de vreo piatră.

They shall bear thee up in their hands lest thy foot stumble against a stone.

13 V ei păşi peste lei şi peste năpîrci, şi vei călca peste pui de lei şi peste şerpi. -

Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 F iindcă Mă iubeşte-zice Domnul-deaceea îl voi izbăvi; îl voi ocroti, căci cunoaşte Numele Meu.

Because he has set his will upon me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known my name.

15 C înd Mă va chema, îi voi răspunde; voi fi cu el în strîmtorare, îl voi izbăvi şi -l voi proslăvi.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and glorify him.

16 Î l voi sătura cu viaţă lungă, şi -i voi arăta mîntuirea Mea``.

With long life I will satisfy him and show him my saving health.
