1 V ai de ceice cugetă nelegiuirea şi făuresc rele în aşternutul lor; cînd se crapă de ziuă o înfăptuiesc, dacă le stă în putere.

¶ Woe unto those that devise iniquity and fabricate evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they put it into effect because they have power in their hands.

2 D acă poftesc ogoare, pun mîna pe ele, dacă doresc case, le răpesc; asupresc pe om şi casa lui, pe om şi moştenirea lui.

And they coveted fields and stole them, and houses and took them away; so they oppressed the man and his house, even the man and his heritage.

3 D eaceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul:,, Iată, Eu am de gînd să aduc o nenorocire împotriva acestui leat de oameni, de care nu vă veţi feri grumazii, şi nu veţi mai umbla cu capul atît de sus, căci vremile vor fi rele.

Therefore thus hath the LORD said; Behold, I devise an evil against this family, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye walk haughtily; for the time shall be evil.

4 Î n ziua aceea, veţi ajunge de pomină, veţi boci, şi veţi zice:,, S -a isprăvit! Sîntem pustiiţi cu desăvîrşire! Partea de moştenire a poporului meu trece în mîna altuia! Vai! cum mi -o ia! Ogoarele noastre le împarte vrăjmaşului...!``

In that time shall one take up a saying against you and lament with a doleful lamentation and say, We have been utterly destroyed; he has changed the portion of my people; how has he taken our fields! He has given and divided our fields unto others.

5 D eaceea nu vei avea pe nimeni care să întindă frînghia de măsurat pentru sorţul tău, în adunarea Domnului.``

Therefore thou shalt have no one to cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.

6 N u proorociţi!`` zic ei.,, Să nu se proorocească asemenea lucruri. Căci altminteri ocările nu mai încetează!`` -

¶ Do not prophesy, they say to those that prophesy: Do not prophesy unto them that they are to understand shame.

7 E ste Domnul atît de grabnic la mînie, casa lui Iacov? Acesta este felul Lui de a lucra?``,, Da, cuvintele Mele sînt prielnice celui ce umblă cu neprihănire!

O thou that calls thyself the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD shortened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walks uprightly?

8 D e multă vreme poporul Meu este socotit de Mine ca vrăjmaş; voi răpiţi mantaua de pe hainele celor ce trec liniştiţi şi n'au gust de război.

He who yesterday was my people is risen up as an enemy; ye pull off the robe with the garment from those that pass by as those who return from war.

9 V oi izgoniţi din casele lor iubite pe femeile poporului Meu, luaţi pentru totdeauna podoaba Mea dela copiii lor.

Ye have cast the women of my people out from their pleasant houses; from their children ye have taken away my continual praise.

10 S culaţi-vă, şi plecaţi, căci aici nu este odihnă pentru voi; căci din pricina spurcăciunii, vor fi dureri, dureri puternice.

Arise and depart, for this is not your rest because it is polluted; it has become corrupted and with a great corruption.

11 D a, dacă ar veni un om cu vînt şi minciuni, şi ar zice:,,Îţi voi prooroci despre vin, şi despre băuturi tari!`` acela ar fi un prooroc pentru poporul acesta!

If there is one walking in the spirit of falsehood, he shall lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

12 T e voi strînge în întregime, Iacove! Voi strînge rămăşiţa lui Israel, îi voi aduna ca pe nişte oi dintr'un staul, ca pe o turmă în păşunea ei, aşa că va fi o mare zarvă de oameni.

¶ I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah as the flock in the midst of their fold; they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

13 C el ce va face spărtura se va sui înaintea lor; vor face spărtura, vor trece pe poartă şi vor ieşi pe ea; împăratul lor va merge înaintea lor, şi Domnul va fi în fruntea lor.``

The breaker shall go up before them; they shall break through and pass through the gate and go out by it; and their king shall pass before them, the LORD at the head of them.
