¶ Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend me from those that rise up against me.

2 S capă-mă de răufăcători, izbăveşte-mă de oamenii setoşi de sînge!

Deliver me from the workers of iniquity and save me from bloodthirsty men.

3 C ăci iată -i că stau la pîndă să-mi ia viaţa; nişte oameni porniţi la rău urzesc lucruri rele împotriva mea, fără să fiu vinovat, fără să fi păcătuit, Doamne!

For, behold, they lie in wait for my soul; the strong are gathered against me; I am not in rebellion, nor in sin, O LORD.

4 C u toată nevinovăţia mea, ei aleargă, se pregătesc: trezeşte-Te, ieşi inaintea mea, şi priveşte!

They run and prepare themselves when I have committed no iniquity; awake to help me and behold.

5 D oamne, Dumnezeul oştirilor, Dumnezeul lui Israel, scoală-Te, ca să pedepseşti toate neamurile! N'avea milă de niciunul din aceşti vînzători nelegiuiţi. -(Oprire).

Thou, therefore, O LORD God of the hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the Gentiles; be not merciful to any rebellious workers of iniquity. Selah.

6 S e întorc în fiecare seară, urlă ca nişte cîni, şi dau ocol cetăţii.

They will return at evening; they will bark like dogs and go round about outside the city.

7 D a, din gura lor ţîşneşte răul, pe buzele lor sînt săbii; căci zic:,, Cine aude?``

Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips; for who, say they, doth hear?

8 D ar Tu, Doamne, rîzi de ei, Tu Îţi baţi joc de toate neamurile.

¶ But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the Gentiles in derision.

9 O ricare le-ar fi puterea, eu în Tine nădăjduiesc, căci Dumnezeu este scăparea mea.

I will reserve his strength unto thee, for God is my defence.

10 D umnezeul meu, în bunătatea Lui, îmi iese înainte, Dumnezeu mă face să-mi văd împlinită dorinţa faţă de cei ce mă prigonesc.

The God of my mercy shall meet me on the way; God shall let me see my desire upon my enemies.

11 N u -i ucide, ca să nu uite lucrul acesta poporul meu, ci fă -i să pribegească, prin puterea Ta, şi doboară -i, Doamne, Scutul nostru!

Slay them not lest my people forget; scatter them by thy power and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

12 G ura lor păcătuieşte la fiecare vorbă, care le iese de pe buze: să se prindă în însăş mîndria lor, căci nu spun decît blesteme şi minciuni:

For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride; they shall be subject to weakness and to a curse.

13 N imiceşte -i, în mînia Ta, prăpădeşte -i, ca să nu mai fie! Fă -i să ştie că împărăţeşte Dumnezeu peste Iacov, pînă la marginile pămîntului. -

Consume them in wrath, consume them that they may not be and let them know that God rules in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

14 S e întorc în fiecare seară, urlă ca nişte cîni, şi dau ocol cetăţii.

And at evening let them return and let them bark like dogs and go round about outside the city.

15 U mblă încoace şi încolo după hrană, şi petrec noaptea ne sătui.

Let them wander up and down for food and murmur if they are not satisfied.

16 D ar eu voi cînta puterea Ta; disdedimineaţă, voi lăuda bunătatea Ta. Căci Tu eşti un turn de scăpare pentru mine, un loc de adăpost în ziua necazului meu.

But I will sing of thy power; I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning, for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

17 O , Tăria mea! pe Tine Te voi lăuda, căci Dumnezeu, Dumnezeul meu cel prea bun, este turnul meu de scăpare.

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing, for God is my defence and the God of my mercy.
