And the sons of Gomer: Ashchenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

7 F iii lui Iavan: Elişa, Tarsisa, Chitim şi Rodanim.

And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

8 F iii lui Ham: Cuş, Miţraim, Put şi Canaan. -

The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9 F iii lui Cuş: Saba, Havila, Sabta, Raema şi Sabteca. -Fiii lui Raema: Seba şi Dedan.

And the sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10 C uş a născut pe Nimrod; el a început să fie puternic pe pămînt. -

And Cush begat Nimrod; he began to be mighty upon the earth.

11 M iţraim a născut pe Ludimi, Ananimi, Lehabimi, Naftuhimi,

And Mizraim begat Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

12 P atrusimi, Casluhimi, din cari au ieşit Filistenii şi Caftorimii. -

Pathrusim and Casluhim of whom came the Philistines and the Caphthorim.

13 C anaan a născut pe Sidon, întîiul lui născut, şi pe Het,

And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn and the Hitite,

18 A rpacşad a născut pe Şelah; şi Şelah a născut pe Eber.

And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

19 L ui Eber i s'au născut doi fii: numele unuia era Peleg, pentrucă pe vremea lui s'a împărţit pămîntul, iar numele fratelui său era Ioctan.

And unto Eber were born two sons; the name of the one was Peleg because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan.

20 I octan a născut pe Almodad, pe Şelef, pe Haţarmavet, pe Ierah,

And Joktan begat Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

21 p e Hadoram, pe Uzal, pe Dicla,

Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

22 p e Ebal, pe Abimael, pe Seba,

Ebal, Abimael, Sheba,

23 p e Ofir, pe Havila şi pe Iobab. Toţi aceştia au fost fii ai lui Ioctan. Cei zece patriarhi dela Sem la Avraam.

Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she gave birth to Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

33 F iii lui Madian: Efa, Efer, Enoh, Abida şi Eldaa. -Aceştia sînt toţi fiii Cheturei.

The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Enoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah.

34 A vraam a născut pe Isaac. -Fiii lui Isaac: Esau şi Israel.

And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

35 F iii lui Esau: Elifaz, Reuel, Ieuş, Iaelam şi Core. -

The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jaalam, and Korah.

36 F iii lui Elifaz: Teman, Omar, Ţefi, Gaetam, Chenaz, Timna, şi Amalec. -

The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zephi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna, and Amalek.

37 F iii lui Reuel: Nahat, Zerah, Şama şi Miza.

The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38 F iii lui Seir: Lotan, Şobal, Ţibeon, Ana, Dişon, Eţer, şi Dişan. -

The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

39 F iii lui Lotan: Hori şi Homam. Sora lui Lotan: Timna. -

The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam, and Timna was Lotan’s sister.

40 F iii lui Şobal: Alian, Manahat, Ebal, Şefi şi Onam. -Fiii lui Ţibeon: Aia şi Ana. -

The sons of Shobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.

41 F iul lui Ana: Dişon. Fiii lui Dişon: Hamran, Eşban, Itran şi Cheran. -

Dishon was the son of Anah. The sons of Dishon: Amram, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

42 F iii lui Eţer: Bilhan, Zaavan şi Iaacan. Fiii lui Dişan: Uţ şi Aran.

The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zavan, and Jakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43 I ată împăraţii cari au domnit în ţara Edomului, înainte ca să fi domnit un împărat peste copiii lui Israel. -Bela, fiul lui Beor; numele cetăţii lui era Dinhaba. -

Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the sons of Israel. Bela, the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44 B ela a murit; şi în locul lui, a domnit Iobab, fiul lui Zerah, din Boţra. -

And when Bela was dead, Jobab, the son of Zerah of Bozrah, reigned in his stead.

45 I obab a murit; şi, în locul lui, a domnit Huşam, din ţara Temaniţilor. -

And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

46 H uşam a murit; şi, în locul lui, a domnit Hadad, fiul lui Bedad. El a bătut pe Madian în cîmpia Moabului. Numele cetăţii lui era Avit. -

And when Husham was dead, Hadad, the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Avith.

47 H adad a murit; şi, în locul lui, a domnit Samla din Masreca. -

And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

48 S amla a murit; şi, în locul lui, a domnit Saul, din Rehobot pe Rîu. -

And when Samlah was dead, Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

49 S aul a murit; şi, în locul lui, a domnit Baal-Hanan, fiul lui Acbor. -

And when Saul was dead, Baalhanan, the son of Achbor, reigned in his stead.

50 B aal-Hanan a murit; şi, în locul lui, a domnit Hadad. Numele cetăţii lui era Pahi; şi numele nevestei lui era Mehetabeel, fata lui Matred, fata lui Mezahab. -

And when Baalhanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead. The name of his city was Pai, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

51 H adad a murit.

When Hadad was dead, the dukes came forth in Edom: Duke Timnah, Duke Aliah, Duke Jetheth,

52 c ăpetenia Oholibama, căpetenia Ela, căpetenia Pinon,

Duke Aholibamah, Duke Elah, Duke Pinon,

53 c ăpetenia Chenaz, căpetenia Teman, căpetenia Mibţar,

Duke Kenaz, Duke Teman, Duke Mibzar,

54 c ăpetenia Magdiel, căpetenia Iram. Acestea sînt căpeteniile Edomului.
