1 ( O cîntare a lui David.) Păzeşte-mă, Dumnezeule, căci în Tine mă încred.

¶ Preserve me, O God: for in thee I have put my trust.

2 E u zic Domnului:,, Tu eşti Domnul meu, Tu eşti singura mea fericire!``

I said unto the LORD, Thou art my goodness: I have no goodness apart from thee;

3 S finţii, cari sînt în ţară, oamenii evlavioşi, sînt toată plăcerea mea.

to the saints that are in the earth and to the excellent: all my delight is towards them.

4 I dolii se înmulţesc, oamenii aleargă după dumnezei străini, dar eu n'aduc jertfele lor de sînge, şi nu pun numele lor pe buzele mele.

The sorrows of those that hasten after another god shall be multiplied; their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

5 D omnul este partea mea de moştenire şi paharul meu, Tu îmi îndrepţi sorţul meu.

The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; thou dost maintain my lot.

6 O moştenire plăcută mi -a căzut la sorţ, o frumoasă moşie mi -a fost dată.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a beautiful inheritance.

7 E u binecuvintez pe Domnul, care mă sfătuieşte, căci pînă şi noaptea îmi dă îndemnuri inima.

I will bless the LORD, who gives me counsel: my kidneys also instruct me in the night seasons.

8 A m necurmat pe Domnul înaintea ochilor mei: cînd este El la dreapta mea, nu mă clatin.

¶ I have set the LORD always before me: because when he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9 D e aceea inima mi se bucură, sufletul mi se veseleşte, şi trupul mi se odihneşte în linişte.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest secure.

10 C ăci nu vei lăsa sufletul meu în locuinţa morţilor, nu vei îngădui ca prea iubitul Tău să vadă putrezirea.

For thou wilt not leave my soul in Sheol; neither wilt thou suffer thy Merciful One to see corruption.

11 Î mi vei arăta cărarea vieţii; înaintea Feţei Tale sînt bucurii nespuse, şi desfătări vecinice în dreapta Ta.

Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; in thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
