1 Y aconteció que cuando Jeremías acabó de hablar a todo el pueblo todas las palabras del SEÑOR Dios de ellos, todas estas palabras por las cuales el SEÑOR Dios de ellos le había enviado a ellos mismos,

¶ And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

2 d ijo Azarías hijo de Osaías, Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los varones soberbios dijeron a Jeremías: Mentira dices; no te envió el SEÑOR nuestro Dios para decir: No entréis en Egipto a peregrinar allí.

Then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou dost speak falsely; the LORD our God has not sent thee to say, Do not go into Egypt to sojourn there:

3 S ino que Baruc hijo de Nerías te incita contra nosotros, para entregarnos en mano de los caldeos, para matarnos y para hacernos transportar a Babilonia.

but Baruch the son of Neriah sets thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death and carry us away captives into Babylon.

4 Y no oyó Johanán, hijo de Carea, y todos los príncipes de los ejércitos, y todo el pueblo, a la voz del SEÑOR para quedarse en tierra de Judá;

So Johanan the son of Kareah and all the princes of the armies and all the people, did not hear the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.

5 a ntes tomó Johanán, hijo de Carea, y todos los príncipes de los ejércitos, a todo el resto de Judá, que de todos los gentiles adonde habían sido echados habían vuelto para morar en tierra de Judá:

But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the princes of the armies, took all the remnant of Judah, that had returned from among all the Gentiles, where they had been driven, to dwell in the land of Judah;

6 H ombres, mujeres, y niños, y las hijas del rey, y a toda alma que había dejado Nabuzaradán capitán de la guardia con Gedalías, hijo de Ahicam, hijo de Safán, y a Jeremías profeta, y a Baruc, hijo de Nerías;

men and women and children and the king’s daughters, and every soul that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah;

7 Y salieron para tierra de Egipto; porque no escucharon la voz del SEÑOR; y llegaron hasta Tafnes.

and they left for the land of Egypt; because they did not listen to the voice of the LORD: thus they came even to Tahpanhes.

8 Y vino Palabra del SEÑOR a Jeremías en Tafnes, diciendo:

¶ Then the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

9 T oma con tu mano piedras grandes, y cúbrelas de barro en un horno de ladrillos que está a la puerta de la casa de Faraón en Tafnes, a vista de hombres judíos;

Take great stones in thine hand and cover them with clay in a brickkiln, which is at the entry of Pharaoh’s house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;

10 y diles: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo envío, y tomaré a Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, mi siervo, y pondré su trono sobre estas piedras que escondí, y tenderá su dosel sobre ellas.

and say unto them, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel said; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my slave and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid, and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

11 Y vendrá, y herirá la tierra de Egipto; los que a muerte, a muerte, y los que a cautiverio, a cautiverio, y los que a espada, a espada.

And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt and deliver such as are for death to death; and such as are for captivity to captivity; and such as are for the sword to the sword.

12 Y pondré fuego a las casas de los dioses de Egipto; y las quemará, y a ellos llevará cautivos; y él se vestirá la tierra de Egipto, como el pastor se viste su capa, y saldrá de allá en paz.

And I will put fire to the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace.

13 A demás, quebrará las estatuas de Bet-semes, que es en tierra de Egipto, y las casas de los dioses de Egipto quemará a fuego.

He shall also break the images of Bethshemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.
