1 ¿ Por qué, oh Dios, nos has desechado para siempre? ¿Por qué ha humeado tu furor contra las ovejas de tu prado?

¶ O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why does thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

2 A cuérdate de tu congregación, que adquiriste de antiguo, cuando redimiste la vara de tu heredad; este monte de Sion, donde has habitado.

Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed, this Mount Zion, in which thou hast dwelt.

3 L evanta tus pies a los asolamientos eternos; a todo enemigo que ha hecho mal en el santuario.

Lift up thy feet unto the eternal desolations, unto every enemy who has done wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 T us enemigos han bramado en medio de tus asambleas; han puesto sus propias banderas por señas.

Thine enemies have roared in the midst of thy assemblies; they set up their own banners for signs.

5 N ombrado era, como si lo llevara al cielo, el que metía las hachas en el monte de la madera espesa para el edificio del santuario.

Renowned, as one on the way to heaven, he who lifted up axes upon the thick trees for the work of the sanctuary.

6 Y ahora con hachas y martillos han quebrado todas sus entalladuras.

But now they break down all the carved work thereof with axes and hammers.

7 H an puesto a fuego tus santuarios, han ensuciado en la tierra el tabernáculo de tu Nombre.

They have set fire to thy sanctuaries; they have defiled the tabernacle of thy name in the earth.

8 D ijeron en su corazón: Destruyámoslos de una vez; quemaron todos los lugares de ayuntamiento del pueblo de Dios en la tierra.

They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them at once; they have burned up all the meeting places of the people of God in the earth.

9 N o vemos ya nuestras banderas propias; no hay más profeta; ni hay con nosotros quien sepa. ¿Hasta cuándo?

We no longer see our own banners; there is no longer any prophet: neither is there among us any that knows. How long shall this be?

10 ¿ Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, nos afrentará el angustiador? ¿Ha de blasfemar el enemigo perpetuamente tu Nombre?

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 ¿ Por qué retraes tu mano, y tu diestra? ¿ Por qué la escondes dentro de tu seno?

Why dost thou withdraw thy hand, even thy right hand? Why dost thou hide it in thy bosom.

12 ¶ Pero Dios es mi rey ya de antiguo; el que obra salud en medio de la tierra.

¶ For God is my King from of old, he who works saving health in the midst of the earth.

13 T ú hendiste el mar con tu fortaleza; quebrantaste las cabezas de los dragones en las aguas.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength; thou didst break the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 T ú magullaste las cabezas del leviatán; lo diste por comida al pueblo de los desiertos.

Thou didst break the heads of leviathan in pieces and didst give him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 T ú abriste fuente y río; tú secaste ríos impetuosos.

Thou didst cleave the fountain and the river; thou didst dry up mighty rivers.

16 T uyo es el día, tuya también es la noche; tú aparejaste la lumbre y el sol.

The day is thine, the night also is thine; thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 T ú estableciste todos los términos de la tierra; el verano y el invierno tú los formaste.

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth; thou hast made summer and winter.

18 ¶ Acuérdate de esto: que el enemigo ha dicho afrentas al SEÑOR, y que el pueblo loco ha blasfemado tu Nombre.

¶ Remember this, that the enemy has spoken against the LORD and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

19 N o entregues a las bestias el alma de tu tórtola; y no olvides para siempre la congregación de tus pobres.

O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the beasts; forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

20 M ira al pacto; porque las tenebrosidades de la tierra llenas están de habitaciones de violencia.

Have respect unto the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.

21 N o vuelva avergonzado el abatido; el pobre y el menesteroso alabarán tu Nombre.

O let not the oppressed return ashamed; the poor and destitute shall praise thy name.

22 L evántate, oh Dios, aboga tu causa; acuérdate de cómo el loco te injuria cada día.

Arise, O God, plead thine own cause; remember how the foolish man reproaches thee daily.

23 N o olvides las voces de tus enemigos; el alboroto de los que se levantan contra ti sube continuamente.

Forget not the voices of thine enemies; the tumult of those that rise up against thee increases continually.
