1 ( По слав. 73). Асафово поучение. Боже, защо си ни отхвърлил за винаги? Защото дими гневът Ти против овцете на пасбището Ти?

¶ O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why does thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

2 С помни си за събранието Си, което си придобил от древността, Което си изкупил да бъде племето {Еврейски: Жезъла.}, което ще имаш за наследство; <Спомни си и> за хълма Сион, в който си обитавал.

Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed, this Mount Zion, in which thou hast dwelt.

3 О тправи стъпките Си горе към постоянните запустявания, <Към> всичкото зло, което неприятелят е извършил в светилището.

Lift up thy feet unto the eternal desolations, unto every enemy who has done wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 П ротивниците Ти реват всред местосъбранието Ти; Поставиха своите знамена за знамения.

Thine enemies have roared in the midst of thy assemblies; they set up their own banners for signs.

5 П ознати станаха като човеци, които дигат брадва Върху гъсти дървета;

Renowned, as one on the way to heaven, he who lifted up axes upon the thick trees for the work of the sanctuary.

6 И сега всичките му ваяни изделия Те събарят изведнъж с брадви и чукове.

But now they break down all the carved work thereof with axes and hammers.

7 П редадоха на огън светилището Ти; Оскверниха обиталището на името Ти <като го повалиха> на земята.

They have set fire to thy sanctuaries; they have defiled the tabernacle of thy name in the earth.

8 Р екоха в сърцето си: Нека ги изтребим съвсем; Изгориха всичките богослужебни домове по земята.

They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them at once; they have burned up all the meeting places of the people of God in the earth.

9 З намения <да се извършат> за нас не виждаме; няма вече пророк, Нито има между нас някой да знае до кога <ще се продължава това>.

We no longer see our own banners; there is no longer any prophet: neither is there among us any that knows. How long shall this be?

10 Д о кога, Боже, противникът ще укорява? До века ли врагът ще хули името Ти?

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 З ащо теглиш назад ръката Си, да! десницата Ти? <Изтегли я> изсред пазухата Си <и> погуби <ги>.

Why dost thou withdraw thy hand, even thy right hand? Why dost thou hide it in thy bosom.

12 А Бог е от древността Цар мой, Който изработва избавления всред земята.

¶ For God is my King from of old, he who works saving health in the midst of the earth.

13 Т и си раздвоил морето със силата Си; Ти си смазал главите на морските чудовища.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength; thou didst break the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 Т и си строшил главите на Левиатана, Дал си го за ястие на людете намиращи се в пустинята.

Thou didst break the heads of leviathan in pieces and didst give him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 Т и си разцепил <канари, за да изтичат> извори и потоци; Пресушил си реки непресъхвали.

Thou didst cleave the fountain and the river; thou didst dry up mighty rivers.

16 Т вой е денят, Твоя и нощта; Ти си приготвил светлината и слънцето.

The day is thine, the night also is thine; thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 Т и си поставил всичките предели по земята; Ти си направил лятото и зимата.

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth; thou hast made summer and winter.

18 П омни това, <че> врагът е укорил Господа, И че безумни люде са похулили Твоето име.

¶ Remember this, that the enemy has spoken against the LORD and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

19 Н е предавай на зверовете душата на гургулицата Си; Не забравяй за винаги живота {Или: Събранието.} на Твоите немотни.

O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the beasts; forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

20 З ачети завета Си, Защото тъмните места на земята са пълни с жилища на насилие.

Have respect unto the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.

21 У гнетеният да се не върне назад посрамен; Сиромахът и немотният да хвалят името Ти.

O let not the oppressed return ashamed; the poor and destitute shall praise thy name.

22 С тани, Боже, защити Своето дело; Помни как всеки ден безумният Те укорява.

Arise, O God, plead thine own cause; remember how the foolish man reproaches thee daily.

23 Н е забравяй гласа на противниците Си; Размирството на ония, които се повдигат против Тебе, постоянно се умножава.

Forget not the voices of thine enemies; the tumult of those that rise up against thee increases continually.
