1 З ащото, братя, желая да знаете, че, <макар> да са били бащите ни всички под облака, и всички да са минали през морето,

¶ Moreover, brothers, I would that ye not ignore how our fathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea

2 и в облака и в морето всички да са били кръстени от Моисея,

and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea

3 и всички да са яли от същата духовна храна,

and did all eat the same spiritual food

4 и всички да са пили от същото духовно питие, (защото пиеха от една духовна канара, която ги придружаваше; и тая канара бе Христос),

and did all drink the same spiritual drink, for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them; and that Rock was the Christ.

5 & lt;пак> в повечето от тях Бог не благоволи; затова ги измори в пустинята.

But with many of them God was not pleased; therefore, they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 А в тия неща те ни станаха примери, та да не похотствуваме за злото, както и те похотствуваха.

¶ Now these things became types of us, that we should not lust after evil things as they lusted.

7 Н ито бивайте идолопоклонници, както някои от тях според писаното: "Людете седнаха да ядат и да пият, и станаха да играят".

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.

8 Н ито да блудствуваме, както блудствуваха някои от тях, и паднаха в един ден двадесет и три хиляди души.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed and fell dead: in one day, twenty-three thousand.

9 Н ито да изпитваме Господа, както някои от тях Го изпитаха, и погинаха от змиите.

Neither let us tempt the Christ, as some of them also tempted and perished by the serpents.

10 Н ито роптайте, както възроптаха някои от тях, и погинаха от изтребителя.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured and perished by the destroyer.

11 А всичко това им се случи за примери, и се написа за поука нам, върху които са стигнали последните времена.

Now all these things happened unto them as types, and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.

12 Т ака щото, който мисли, че стои, нека внимава да не падне.

Therefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

13 Н икакво изпитание не ви е постигнало освен това, което може да носи човек; обаче, Бог е верен, Който няма да ви остави да бъдете изпитани повече, отколкото ви е силата, но заедно с изпитанието ще даде и изходен път, така щото да можете да го издържите.

No temptation has taken you but such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14 З атова, възлюбени мои, бягайте от идолопоклонството.

Therefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

15 Г оворя като на разумни човеци; сами вие съдете за това, което казвам.

¶ I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

16 Ч ашата, която биде благословена, <и която> ние благославяме, не е ли <това> да имаме общение в Христовата кръв? Хлябът, който пречупваме, не е ли да имаме общение в Христовото тяло?

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the fellowship of the blood of the Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the fellowship of the body of the Christ?

17 т ъй като ние, <ако и да> сме мнозина, сме един хляб, едно тяло, понеже всички в единия хляб участвуваме.

For one loaf of bread means that many are one body, for we are all partakers of that one loaf.

18 Г ледайте Израиля по плът; тия, които ядат жертвите, нямат ли общение в олтара? Тогава що?

Behold Israel after the flesh: are not those who eat of the sacrifices participants of the altar?

19 К азвам ли аз, че идоложертвеното е нещо, или че идолът е нещо? <Не>.

What do I say then? that the idol is anything or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything?

20 Н о <казвам>, че онова, което жертвуват езичниците, жертвуват го на бесовете, а не на Бога; но аз не желая вие да имате общение с бесовете.

But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I would not that ye should be participants of demons.

21 Н е можете да пиете Господната чаша и бесовската чаша; не можете да участвувате в Господната трапеза и в бесовската трапеза.

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; ye cannot be participants of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons.

22 И ли искаме да подбудим Господа на ревнивост? Ние по-силни ли сме от Него?

Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

23 В сичко е позволено, но не всичко е полезно; всичко е позволено, но не всичко е назидателно.

¶ All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient; all things are lawful for me, but all things do not edify.

24 Н икой да не търси своята лична <полза>, но <всеки ползата> на другиго.

Let no one seek his own good, but that of the other.

25 В сичко, що се продава на месарницата, яжте без да изпитвате <за него> заради съвестта си;

Whatever is sold in the market, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake;

26 з ащото "Господна е земята и всичко що има в нея".

for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.

27 А ко някой от невярващите ви покани <на угощение>, и вие желаете да отидете, яжте каквото сложат пред вас, без да изпитвате <за него> заради съвестта си.

If any of those that do not believe bid you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go, eat whatever is set before you asking no questions for conscience sake.

28 Н о, ако някой ви рече: Това е било принесено в жертва, не яжте, заради тогова, който ви е известил, и заради съвестта, -

But if anyone says unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, do not eat it for the sake of him that disclosed it and for conscience sake; for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof:

29 с ъвест, казвам, не твоята, но на другия; (понеже, защо да се съди моята свобода от друга съвест?

conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other, for why should my liberty be judged by another man’s conscience?

30 А ко аз с благодарение <Богу> участвувам <в яденето>, защо да ме злословят за онова, за което благодаря?)

For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

31 И тъй, ядете ли, пиете ли, нещо ли вършите, всичко вършете за Божията слава.

Whether therefore ye eat or drink or whatever ye do, do everything for the glory of God.

32 Н е ставайте съблазън ни на юдеи, ни на гърци, нито на Божията църква;

Be without offense, neither to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the congregation of God;

33 к акто и аз угождавам на всички във всичко, като търся не своята си полза, но <ползата> на мнозина, за да се спасят.

even as I please everyone in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
