1 Т огава цар Дарий издаде указ, та претърсиха в помещенията на архивите, гдето се полагаха съкровищата във Вавилон;

¶ Then Darius, the king, gave a commandment, and a search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.

2 и намери се в Ахмета, в палата, който е в областта на мидяните, един свитък, в който имаше един такъв летопис: -

And there was found in the coffer of the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:

3 В първата година на цар Кира, цар Кир издаде указ <както следва>: За Божия дом в Ерусалим: Нека се построи домът, мястото гдето се принасят жертви, и да се положат здраво основите му; височината му да бъде шестдесет лакътя, широчината му шестдесет лакътя,

In the first year of Cyrus, the king, the same Cyrus, the king, gave a commandment concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, that the house be built as a place for sacrifices to be offered, and let the walls thereof be covered; the height thereof sixty cubits, and the breadth thereof sixty cubits;

4 с три реда големи камъни и един ред нови дървета; и разноските да се дадат от царския дом.

the orders, three of stones of marble and one order of new timber and let the expenses be given out of the king’s house.

5 С ъщо и златните и сребърните вещи на Божия дом, които Навуходоносор взе от храма, който бе в Ерусалим, та ги донесе във Вавилон, нека се дадат назад и да се повърнат на храма в Ерусалим, всяка на мястото си, и да се положат в Божия дом.

And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which was at Jerusalem and brought unto Babylon, be restored and go again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, to his place, and let them be placed in the house of God.

6 С ега, прочее, областни управителю отвъд реката Татанае, Сетар-вознае, и съслужителите ви афарсахците, които сте отвъд реката, отдалечете се от там.

Now therefore, Tatnai, captain of the other side of the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions, the Apharsachites, who are on the other side of the river, remove yourselves from there.

7 Н е спъвайте работата по тоя Божий дом; областният управител на юдеите и старейшините на юдеите нека построят тоя Божия дом на мястото му.

Leave the work of this house of God unto the captain of the Jews and to their elders that they may build this house of God in his place.

8 П ри туй, относно онова, що трябва да направите за тия старейшини на юдеите, за построяването на тоя Божий дом, издавам указ да се дадат незабавно от царския имот, от данъка на <жителите> отвъд реката, разноските на тия човеци, за да не бъдат възпрепятствувани.

And by me is given the commandment regarding what ye shall do with the elders of these Jews, to build this house of God: that of the king’s goods, of the tribute from the other side of the river, the expenses be given unto these men, that they not cease.

9 И каквото би им потрябвало, било телци, овни, или агнета, за всеизгарянията на небесния Бог, <тоже> жито, сол, вино, или дървено масло, според искането на свещениците, които са в Ерусалим, нека им се дават всеки ден непременно,

And that which they have need of, both young bullocks and rams and lambs for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day that they not cease:

10 з а да принасят благоуханни жертви на небесния Бог, и да се молят за живота на царя и на синовете му.

that they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

11 И здавам още и указ, щото на всеки, който би изменил тая заповед, по тая причина, да се изкърти греда от къщата му та да се изправи, и той да се обеси на нея, и къщата му да стане на бунище.

It is also given by my commandment that whoever shall alter this word, let a timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged upon it, and let his house be made a dunghill for this.

12 И Бог, Който е настанил името Си там, нека изтреби всички царе и племена, които биха прострели ръка, за да изменят <тая заповед>, та да се събори тоя Божий дом, който е в Ерусалим. Аз Дарий издадох указа; нека се изпълни незабавно.

And the God that has caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people that shall put to their hand to alter or to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made the decree; let it be done with speed.

13 Т огава областният управител отсам реката Татанае, и Сетар-вознай, и съслужителите им направиха незабавно така както бе заповядано от цар Дария.

¶ Then Tatnai, captain of the other side of the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, speedily did according to that which Darius, the king, had sent.

14 И юдейските старейшини градяха успешно, <насърчавани> чрез пророкуването на пророк Агея и на Захария, Идовия син. Те градиха и свършиха, според заповедта на Израилевия Бог, и според указа на персийския цар Кир, и Дарий, и Артаксеркс.

And the elders of the Jews built, and they prospered according to the prophecy of Haggai, the prophet, and Zechariah, the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel and according to the commandment of Cyrus and of Darius and of Artaxerxes, king of Persia.

15 Т ака тоя дом се свърши на третия ден от месец Адар, в шестата година от царуването на цар Дария.

And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius, the king.

16 И израилтяните, свещениците, левитите и останалите от завърналите се от плена, пазиха с веселие посвещението на тоя Божий дом.

And the sons of Israel, the priests and the Levites and the rest of the sons of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy,

17 З а посвещението на тоя Божий дом принесоха сто юнеца, двеста овена и четиристотин агнета, а в принос за грях за целия Израил, дванадесет козела, според числото на Израилевите племена,

and they offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and as the sin of all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

18 И поставиха свещениците в чиновете им, и левитите в отредите им, за Божията служба, която се върши в Ерусалим, според предписаното в Моисеевата книга.

And they set the priests in their divisions and the Levites in their courses over the work of God, which is at Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses.

19 И завърналите се от плена направиха пасхата на четиринадесетия ден от първия месец;

And the sons of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.

20 з ащото свещениците и левитите бяха се очистили единодушно, та те всички бяха чисти; <и левитите> заклаха пасхата за всички завърнали се от плена, и за братята си свещениците, и за себе си.

For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the passover for all the sons of the captivity and for their brethren, the priests, and for themselves.

21 И завърналите се от плена израилтяни, и всички, които се бяха отлъчили от нечистотата на народите на земята <и се бяха присъединили> към тях, за да търсят Господа Израилевия Бог, ядоха <пасхата>,

And the sons of Israel who had returned out of captivity and all those who had separated themselves unto them from the uncleanness of the Gentiles of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, ate

22 и пазиха празника на безквасните хлябове седем дни с веселие; защото Господ ги развесели, като бе обърнал към тях сърцето на асирийския цар, за да укрепи ръцете им в делото на дома на Бога, Израилевия Бог.

and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy; for the LORD had made them joyful and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
