1 Т огава нааматецът Софар в отговор рече:

¶ Then Zophar, the Naamathite, answered and said,

2 П онеже ме карат мислите ми да отговоря, Затова бързам.

My thoughts certainly cause me to answer, and therefore, I make haste.

3 Ч ух укорителното изобличение против мене; И духът на разума ме кара да отговоря.

I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my intelligence causes me to answer.

4 Н е знаеш ли това от старо време, От когато е поставен човек на земята,

Dost thou not know this that always was, since man was placed upon earth,

5 Ч е тържеството на нечестивите е кратковременно, И радостта на безбожния е минутна?

that the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?

6 М акар величието му да се издигне до небето, И главата му да стигне до облаците,

Though his excellency mounts up to the heavens, and his head reaches unto the clouds,

7 П ак той ще се изрине за винаги както нечистотиите му; Ония, които са го гледали, ще кажат: Где е той?

yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung; those who have seen him shall say, What is become of him?

8 К ато сън ще отлети и няма да се намери, И като нощно видение ще изчезне.

He shall fly away as a dream and shall not be found: yea, he shall flee away as a vision of the night.

9 О кото, което го е гледало, не ще го гледа вече; И мястото му няма да го види вече.

The eye which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place behold him any more.

10 Ч адата му ще потърсят благоволението на сиромасите; И ръцете му ще повърнат имота им.

¶ His poor sons shall go forth begging, and their hands shall restore that which he stole.

11 К остите му са пълни със <съгрешенията на> младостта му; И те ще лежат с него в пръстта.

His bones are full of the sins of his youth, which shall be buried with him in the dust.

12 А ко и да е сладко злото в устата му, Та го крие под езика си,

If wickedness was sweet in his mouth, if he hid it under his tongue,

13 А ко и да го жали и не го оставя, Но все още го държи вътре в устата си,

if it seemed good unto him, and he did not forsake it, but savored it within his mouth,

14 П ак храната му ще се измени в червата му, На жлъчка аспидна ще <се обърне> във вътрешностите му.

his food shall be changed in his bowels, it shall be the gall of asps within him.

15 П огълнал е богатство, но ще го повърне; Бог ще го изтръгне из корема му.

He has swallowed down riches, but he shall vomit them up again; God shall cast them out of his belly.

16 О трова аспидна ще суче; Език ехиднин ще го умъртви.

He shall suck the poison of asps; the viper’s tongue shall slay him.

17 Н яма вече да гледа потоците, Реките, които текат с мед и масло.

He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.

18 Т ова, за което се трудим, ще го възвърне, И няма да се наслаждава на него {Еврейски: Да го погълне.}; Съразмерно с имота, който е придобил, Той няма да се радва,

He shall restore the work that was not his; according to the substance that he took; neither shall he devour, nor rejoice.

19 З ащото е угнетил сиромасите и ги е оставил; Заграбил е къща, която не бе построил.

Because he oppressed and forsook the poor; because he has violently taken away houses which he did not build,

20 П онеже не е знаел насита на лакомството си, Няма да запази <нищо> от това, което му е най-мило;

therefore, he shall not feel quietness in his belly; he shall not escape with that which he desired.

21 & lt;Понеже> не остана нищо, което не изпояде, Затова благоденствието му няма да трае.

Nothing is left that he did not eat; therefore, his goods shall not last.

22 К огато е в пълно изобилие, ще го сполети оскъдност; Ръката на всеки окаяник ще го нападне.

In the fullness of his sufficiency, he shall come into anguish; the hands of all the wicked shall come upon him.

23 К огато се кани да напълни корема си, <Бог> ще хвърли върху него яростния Си гняв, И ще го навали върху него когато <още> яде.

¶ When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him and shall rain it upon him and upon his food.

24 К огато бяга от желязното оръжие, <Стрелата на> медния лък ще го прониже.

He shall flee from the weapons of iron, and the bow of bronze shall strike him through.

25 Т ой я изтръгва, и тя излиза из тялото му, Да! лъскавият й връх излиза из жлъчката му; Ужаси го обземат.

He shall draw forth an arrow from his quiver, and like lightning it shall strike through his gall; terrors shall come upon him.

26 В сякаква тъмнина е запазена за съкровищата му; Огън нераздухван <от човек> ще го пояде; На тия, които останат в шатъра му, зле ще им бъде.

All darkness is kept for his secrets; a fire not blown shall consume him; his successor shall be broken in his tent.

27 Н ебето ще открие беззаконието му, И земята ще се подигне против него.

The heavens shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.

28 Б огатството на дома му ще изчезне, В деня на <Божия> гняв ще се разпилее.

The increase of his house shall be taken captive; they shall be scattered in the day of his wrath.

29 Т ова е от Бога делът на нечестивия, И определеното му от Бога наследство.

This is the portion of a wicked man from God and the heritage that God appoints unto him by his word.
