1 А рувимците и гадците имаха твърде много добитък; и когато видяха Язирската земя и Галаадската земя, че, ето, мястото беше място за добитък,

¶ Now the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock, and when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, it seemed unto them that the place was a place for livestock.

2 т о гадците и рувимците дойдоха та говориха на Моисея, на свещеника Елеазара, и на първенците на обществото, казвайки:

And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben came and spoke unto Moses and to Eleazar, the priest, and unto the princes of the congregation, saying,

3 А тарот, Девон, Язир, Нимра, Есевон, Елеала, Севама, Нево и Веон,

Ataroth and Dibon and Jazer and Nimrah and Heshbon and Elealeh and Shebam and Nebo and Beon,

4 з емята, която Господ порази пред Израилевото общество, е земя за добитък; а слугите ти имат добитък.

the country which the LORD smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and thy slaves have livestock.

5 З а това, рекоха, ако сме придобили твоето благоволение, нека се даде тая земя на слугите ти за притежание; не ни привеждай през Иордан.

Therefore, they said, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy slaves for a possession and do not make us pass the Jordan.

6 А Моисей рече на гадците и на рувимците: Да идат ли братята ви на бой, а вие тук да седите?

And Moses said unto the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here?

7 З ащо обезсърчавате сърцата на израилтяните, та да не преминат в земята, която Господ им е дал?

Why do ye discourage the heart of the sons of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them?

8 Т ака сториха бащите ви, когато ги изпратих от Кадис-варни, за да видят земята;

Thus did your fathers when I sent them from Kadeshbarnea to see the land.

9 о тидоха до долината Есхол, и, като видяха земята, обезсърчиха сърцата на израилтяните, та да не влязат в земята, която Господ им бе дал.

For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the sons of Israel that they should not go into the land which the LORD had given them.

10 И в оня ден гневът на Господа пламна, и той се закле казвайки:

And the LORD’s anger was kindled the same time, and he swore, saying,

11 Н и един от ония мъже, които излязоха из Египет, от двадесет години и нагоре, няма да види земята, за която съм се клел на Авраама, Исаака и Якова, защото не Ме последваха напълно,

Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they were not perfect in following me,

12 о свен Халева син на Ефония Кенезов, и Исуса Навиевият син, защото те напълно последваха Господа.

except Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua, the son of Nun, for they were perfect in following the LORD.

13 Г невът на Господа пламна против Израиля, и Той ги направи да се скитат из пустинята за четиридесет години, догде се довърши изцяло онова поколение, което беше сторило зло пред Господа.

And the LORD’s anger was kindled against Israel, and he made them wander in the wilderness forty years until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the LORD was consumed.

14 И , ето, вместо бащите си, издигнахте се вие, прибавка на грешни човеци, и ще разпалите повече пламъка на Господния гняв против Израиля.

And, behold, ye are risen up in the place of your fathers, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.

15 З ащото, ако вие се отвърнете от Него, Той ще остави тях още еднъж в пустинята; и така вие ще <станете причина да> погинат всички тия люде.

For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave you in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people.

16 Н о те пристъпиха при <Моисея> и рекоха: Ще съградим тука огради за добитъка си и градове за челядите си;

¶ Then they came near unto him and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock and cities for our little ones,

17 а сами ние сме готови да вървим въоръжени пред израилтяните, догде ги заведем до мястото им; и челядите ни ще седят в укрепените градове <в безопасност> от местните жители.

but we ourselves will go arm ourselves and go with diligence before the sons of Israel until we have brought them unto their place, and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

18 Н яма да се върнем в домовете си догде израилтяните не наследят, всеки наследството си.

We will not return unto our houses until the sons of Israel have inherited each man his inheritance.

19 З ащото ние няма да наследим с тях отвъд Иордан и по-нататък, понеже нашето наследство ни се падна отсам Иордан на изток.

For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan or forward because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side of Jordan eastward.

20 Т огава Моисей им рече: Ако направите това, ако отидете въоръжени на бой пред Господа,

Then Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will prepare yourselves to go before the LORD to the war

21 а ко всички въоръжени преминете Иордан пред Господа, догде изгони Той враговете Си от пред Себе Си,

and will all pass the Jordan armed before the LORD until he has driven out his enemies from before him

22 и земята се завладее пред Господа, а подир това се върнете, тогава ще бъдете невинни пред Господа и пред Израиля, и ще имате тая земя за притежание пред Господа.

and the land is subdued before the LORD, then afterward ye shall return and be guiltless before the LORD and before Israel, and this land shall be your possession before the LORD.

23 Н о ако не направите така, ето, ще съгрешите пред Господа; и да знаете, че грехът ви ще ви намери.

But if ye will not do so, behold, ye shall have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will catch up with you.

24 С ъградете градове за челядите си и огради за овците си, и сторете това, което излезе из устата ви.

Build cities for your little ones and folds for your sheep and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth.

25 И гадците и рувимците говориха на Моисея, казвайки: Слугите ти ще сторят, както господарят ни заповяда.

And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben spoke unto Moses, saying, Thy slaves will do as my lord commands.

26 Д ецата ни, жените ни, стадата ни и всичкият ни добитък ще останат тук в галаадските градове;

Our little ones, our wives, our livestock, and all our beasts, shall be there in the cities of Gilead;

27 а слугите ти, всички въоръжени и опълчени, ще отидат пред Господа на бой, както господарят ни каза.

but thy slaves, each one armed for war, will pass before the LORD to battle, as our lord saith.

28 Т огава Моисей даде поръчка за тях на свещеника Елеазара, на Исуса Навина, и на началниците на бащините <домове> от племената на израилтяните.

¶ So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the princes of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel.

29 М оисей им рече: Ако гадците и рувимците преминат с вас Иордан, всички въоръжени за бой пред Господа, и се завладее земята пред вас, тогава ще им дадете Галаадската земя за притежание.

And Moses said unto them, If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben will pass the Jordan with you, each one armed to battle, before the LORD, after the land shall be subdued before you, then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession.

30 Н о ако не щат да преминат с вас въоръжени, тогава да вземат наследство между вас в Ханаанската земя.

But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.

31 И гадците и рувимците в отговор рекоха: Както рече Господ на слугите ти, така ще сторим.

And the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD has said unto thy slaves, so will we do.

32 Н ие ще заминем въоръжени пред Господа в Ханаанската земя, за да притежаваме наследството си оттатък {На изток от.} Иордан.

We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance on this side of the Jordan shall be ours.

33 И тъй, Моисей им даде, <то ест>, на гадците, на рувимците и на половината от племето на Иосифовия син Манасия, царството на аморейския цар Сион и царството на васанския цар Ог, земята заедно с градовете в пределите й, градовете на околната земя.

Thus Moses gave unto the sons of Gad and to the sons of Reuben and unto half the tribe of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with its cities and borders, even the cities of the country round about.

34 И гадците съградиха Девон, Атарот, Ароир,

And the sons of Gad built Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer

35 А тротсофан, Язир, Иогвея,

and Atroth-shophan and Jaazer and Jogbehah

36 В етнимра и Ветаран, укрепени градове и огради за овци.

and Bethnimrah and Bethharan, fenced cities, and also folds for sheep.

37 А рувимците съградиха Есевон, Елеала, Кириатаим,

And the sons of Reuben built Heshbon and Elealeh and Kirjathaim

38 Н ево и Ваалмеон (с променени имена) и Севама; и преименуваха градовете, които съградиха.

and Nebo and Baalmeon (their names being changed) and Shibmah and gave other names unto the cities which they built.

39 И потомците на Манасиевия син Махир отидоха в Галаад, завладяха го и изпъдиха аморейците, които бяха в него.

And the sons of Machir, the son of Manasseh, went to Gilead and took it and dispossessed the Amorite who was in it.

40 З а това Моисей даде Галаад на Махира Манасиевия син, и той се засели в него.

And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir, the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.

41 А Манасиевият син Яир отиде та завладя градовете му и ги наименува Авот-Яир {Т.е., Яирови паланки.}.

Jair, the son of Manasseh also went and took the small towns thereof and called them Havothjair.

42 И Нова отиде та превзе Кенат и селата му и го наименува Нова по своето име.

Likewise Nobah went and took Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah, after his own name.
