1 А <Яков> чу думите на Лавановите синове, които казваха: Яков отне целия имот на баща ни, и от бащиния ни имот придоби цялото това богатство.

¶ And he heard the words of the sons of Laban, saying, Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s, he has gotten all this glory.

2 И , ето, Яков видя, че лицето на Лавана не беше към него тъй както преди.

And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.

3 А Господ рече на Якова: Върни се в отечеството си и в рода си, и Аз ще бъда с тебе.

Also the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

4 Т огава Яков прати да повикат Рахил и Лия на полето при стадото му;

And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his sheep

5 и рече им: Виждам, че бащиното ви лице не е към мене тъй както преди; но Бог на баща ми е бил с мене.

and said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me.

6 А вие знаете, че с цялата си сила работих на баща ви.

And ye know that with all my strength I have served your father.

7 Н о баща ви ме излъга и десет пъти променя заплатата ми; обаче Бог не го остави да ми напакости.

And your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.

8 А ко кажеше така: Капчестите ще ти бъдат заплатата, тогава цялото стадо раждаше капчести; а ако кажеше така: Шарените ще ти бъдат заплатата, тогава цялото стадо раждаше шарени.

If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the sheep bore speckled; and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then all the sheep bore ringstraked.

9 Т ака Бог отне стадото на баща ви и го даде на мене.

Thus God has taken away the livestock of your father and given them to me.

10 И <едно> време, когато зачеваше стадото, подигнах очи и видях насъне, че, ето, козлите, които се качваха на стадото бяха шарени, капчести и сиви.

And it came to pass at the time that the sheep conceived, that I lifted up my eyes and saw in dreams, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the females were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.

11 И ангел Божий ми рече в съня: Якове; И аз отговорих: Ето ме.

And the angel of God spoke unto me in dreams, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.

12 И той каза: Подигни сега очи и виж, че всичките козли, които се качват на стадото, са шарени, капчести и сиви; защото видях всичко, що ти прави Лаван.

And he said, Lift up now thine eyes and see, all the rams which leap upon the sheep are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled; for I have seen all that Laban has done unto thee.

13 А з съм Бог на Ветил, гдето ти помаза стълб с масло и гдето Ми се обрече. Стани сега, излез из тая земя и се върни в родината си.

I am the God of Bethel, where thou didst anoint the pillar and where thou didst vow a vow unto me. Now arise, go out from this land and return unto the land of thy nature.

14 Р ахил и Лия в отговор му рекоха: Имаме ли ние още дял или наследство в бащиния си дом?

And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?

15 Н е счете ли ни той като чужденки, защото ни продаде и даже изяде дадените за нас пари?

Are we not counted of him strangers? For he has sold us and has even devoured all our price.

16 З ащото цялото богатство, което Бог отне от баща ни, е наше и на нашите чада. Затова, стори сега, каквото Бог ти е казал.

For all the riches which God has taken from our father, is ours and our son’s; now then, whatever God has said unto thee, do.

17 Т огава Яков стана и тури децата си и жените на камилите.

¶ Then Jacob rose up and set his sons and his wives upon the camels;

18 И подкара всичкия си добитък и целия си имот що бе придобил, спечеления от него добитък, който бе събрал в Падан-арам, за да отиде в Ханаанската земя при баща си Исаака.

and he carried away all his livestock and all his goods which he had gotten, the livestock of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, to return unto Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

19 А като беше отишъл Лаван да стриже овците си, Рахил открадна домашните идоли на баща си.

And Laban had gone to shear his sheep; and Rachel stole the idols of her father.

20 И тъй, Яков побягна скришно от сириеца Лавана, без да му извести, че си отива.

And Jacob stole away the heart of Laban the Aramean, in that he did not tell him that he fled.

21 П обягна с целия си имот, стана та премина Ефрат {Еврейски: реката.} и отправи се към Галаадската поляна.

So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up and passed the river and set his face toward Mount Gilead.

22 А на третия ден известиха на Лавана, че Яков побягнал.

And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob had fled.

23 Т огава <Лаван>, като взе със себе си братята си, гони го седем дни {Еврейски: седемдневно пътешествие.}, и го стигна на Галаадската поляна.

Then he took his brethren with him and pursued after him seven days’ journey; and they overtook him in Mount Gilead.

24 Н о Бог дойде насъне, през нощта, при сириеца Лавана и му каза: Внимавай да не речеш на Якова ни зло, ни добро.

And God came to Laban the Aramean in dreams by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

25 И така, Лаван стигна Якова. Яков беше разпънал шатрата си на бърдото, а Лаван с братята си разпъна своята на Галаадската поляна.

¶ Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount; and Laban with his brethren pitched in Mount Gilead.

26 И Лаван рече на Якова: Що стори ти? Защо побягна скришно и отведе дъщерите ми, като с нож запленени?

And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away my heart and carried away my daughters as captives taken with the sword?

27 З ащо се скри, за да бягаш; и ме измами, а не ми яви, та да можех да те изпратя с веселие и с песни, с тъпани и с арфи,

Why didst thou flee away secretly and steal away from me and didst not tell me that I might have sent thee away with mirth and with songs with tambourine and with harp?

28 н ито ме остави да целуна синовете и дъщерите си? Ти си сторил това без да мислиш.

And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.

29 Р ъката ми е доволно силна да ви напакости; но Бог на баща ви ми говори нощес, казвайки: Внимавай да не речеш на Якова ни зло, ни добро.

It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt, but the God of your father spoke unto me last night, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

30 И сега вече си тръгнал, понеже ти е много домъчняло за бащиния ти дом; <обаче>, защо си откраднал боговете ми?

And now, that thou art leaving, because thy desire is after thy father’s house, yet why hast thou stolen my gods?

31 А Яков в отговор каза на Лавана: <Побягнах> понеже се уплаших; защото си рекох: Да не би да ми отнемеш на сила дъщерите си.

And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid; for I said, Peradventure thou would take by force thy daughters from me.

32 У когото намериш боговете си, той да не остане жив; пред братята ни прегледай, какво твое има у мене и си го вземи (защото Яков не знаеше, че Рахил ги бе откраднала).

With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let them not live; before our brethren discern what is thine with me and take it to thee. For Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them.

33 И тъй, Лаван влезе в Якововата шатра, в Лиината шатра и в шатрите на двете слугини, но не намери <боговете>. Тогава, като излезе от Лиината шатра, влезе в Рахилината шатра.

And Laban went into Jacob’s tent and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents, but he did not find them. Then he went out of Leah’s tent and came to Rachel’s tent.

34 А Рахил беше взела домашните идоли, турила ги в седлото на камилата и седеше на тях. А Лаван пипаше из цялата шатра, но не ги намери.

Now Rachel took the images and put them in a camel’s saddle and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent but did not find them.

35 И <Рахил> рече на баща си: Да ти се не зловиди, господарю, дето не мога да стана пред тебе, понеже имам обикновеното на жените. И той търси, но не намери идолите.

And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but did not find the images.

36 Т огава Яков се разсърди и скара се с Лавана. Яков проговори и каза на Лавана: Какво е престъплението ми? Какъв е грехът ми, та си се затекъл подир мене толкоз разпалено?

¶ Then Jacob was wroth and contended with Laban, and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? What is my sin that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?

37 К ато претърси всичките ми вещи, какво намери от цялата си покъщнина? Сложи го тук пред моите братя и твоите братя и нека отсъдят между двама ни.

Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? Set it here before my brethren and thy brethren that they may judge between us both.

38 Д вадесет години вече съм бил при тебе; овците ти и козите ти не се изяловиха; и овните на стадото ти не изядох.

These twenty years I have been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not aborted their young, and I have not eaten the rams of thy flock.

39 Р азкъсано от звяр не ти донесох; аз теглех загубата. От мене ти изискваше <откраднатото>, било че се открадне деня или нощя.

That which was torn of beasts I did not bring unto thee; I bore the sin; thou didst require of my hand that which was stolen, whether by day or by night.

40 Е то как беше с мене: деня пекът ме изнуряваше, а нощя - мразът, и сънят бягаше от очите ми.

By day the drought consumed me, and by night, the frost; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.

41 Д вадесет години вече съм бил в дома ти; четиринадесет години ти работих за двете ти дъщери и шест години за овците ти; и ти десет пъти промени заплатата ми.

Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters and six years for thy flock; and thou hast changed my wages ten times.

42 А ко не беше с мене бащиният ми Бог, Бог на Авраама, Страхът на Исаака, ти без друго би ме изпратил сега без нищо. Бог видя моята неволя и труда на ръцете ми и те изобличи нощес.

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, were not with me, surely thou would send me away now empty. God has seen my affliction and the work of my hands and rebuked thee last night.

43 А Лаван в отговор рече на Якова: Тия дъщери са мои дъщери и децата са мои деца и стадата са мои стада, всичко що виждаш е мое; и какво да сторя днес на тия мои дъщери или на децата, които са народили?

¶ And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these sons are my sons, and these sheep are my sheep, and all that thou seest is mine; and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their sons unto whom they have given birth?

44 Н о сега ела, аз и ти да направим договор, който да бъде свидетелство между мене и тебе.

Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou, and let it be for a witness between me and thee.

45 Т огава Яков взе камък и го изправи за стълб.

Then Jacob took a stone and set it up for a pillar.

46 О ще Яков рече на братята си: Натрупайте камъни; и те взеха камъни та направиха грамада; и ядоха там край грамадата.

And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones and made a heap; and they ate there upon the heap.

47 Л аван я нарече Иегар Сахадута {Т.е., (Халдейски), Свидетелска грамада.}, а Яков я нарече Галаад {Т.е., (Еврейски), Свидетелска грамада.}.

And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.

48 И рече Лаван: Тая грамада е свидетел днес между мене и тебе. Поради това тя се наименува Галаад

And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;

49 и Масфа {Т.е., Стражарница.}, защото думаше: Господ да бди между мене и тебе, когато сме далеч един от друг.

and Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee when we are absent one from another.

50 А ко се обхождаш зле с дъщерите ми, или ако вземеш други жени, освен дъщерите ми, няма никой човек с нас <за свидетел>; но виж, Бог е свидетел между мене и тебе.

If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness between me and thee.

51 Л аван още каза на Якова: Гледай тая грамада и гледай стълба; който изправих между мене и тебе,

And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have raised up between me and thee;

52 т ая грамада да бъде свидетел, и стълбът да бъде свидетел, че аз няма да премина тая грамада към тебе, нито ти ще преминеш тая грамада и тоя стълб към мене, за зло.

let this heap be witness and this pillar be witness that I will not pass over this heap against thee and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar against me, for harm.

53 Б ог Авраамов, Бог Нахоров, бащиният им Бог, нека съди между нас. И Яков се закле в Страха на баща си Исаака.

The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their fathers, judge between us. And Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

54 Т огава Яков принесе жертва на поляната и повика братята си да ядат хляб, и ядоха хляб, и пренощуваха на поляната.

Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount and called his brethren to eat bread; and they ate bread and slept in the mount.

55 И на утринта Лаван стана рано, целуна синовете си и дъщерите си, благослови ги; и Лаван тръгна, та се върна в своето място.

And early in the morning Laban rose up and kissed his sons and his daughters and blessed them; and Laban departed and returned unto his place.
