1 Т огава Соломон, като реши да построи дом за Господното име, и царска къща,

¶ And Solomon determined to build a house for the name of the LORD and a house for his kingdom.

2 С оломон изброи седемдесет хиляди мъже за бременосци, и осемдесет хиляди за каменоделци в планините, и три хиляди и шестстотин за надзиратели над тях.

And Solomon counted seventy thousand men to bear burdens and eighty thousand to hew in the mountain, and three thousand six hundred to oversee them.

3 Т огава Соломон прати до тирския цар Хирам да кажат: Както си сторил на баща ми Давида, и си му пратил кедри, за да си построи къща, в която да живее, <стори така> <и на мене>.

And Solomon sent to Hiram, the king of Tyre, saying, As thou didst deal with David, my father, sending him cedars to build himself a house to dwell in, even so deal with me.

4 Е то, аз строя дом за името на Господа моя Бог, да го посветя Нему, за да се принася пред Него благоуханен темян и постоянните присътствени <хлябове>, и утринните и вечерните всеизгаряния, в съботите, на новолунията, и в празниците на Господа нашия Бог; това е всегдашна <наредба> в Израил.

Behold, I must build a house unto the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to him and to burn aromatic incense before him and for the continual showbread and for the burnt offerings morning and evening on the sabbaths and on the new moons and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God, which is to be perpetual in Israel.

5 А домът, който строя, е голям, защото нашият Бог е велик повече от всичките богове.

And the house which I must build is great, for great is our God above all gods.

6 Н о кой може да Му построи дом, когато небето и небето на небесата не са достатъчни да Го поберат? кой прочее съм аз, та да Му построя дом, освен само за да кадя пред Него?

But who is so powerful as to build him a house, seeing the heavens and heavens of the heavens cannot contain him? Who am I then that I should build him a house, except to burn incense before him?

7 З атова, прати ми сега човек изкусен да работи злато и сребро, мед и желязо, мораво, червено и синьо, и който знае да прави ваяни работи, <и нека работи> с изкусните човеци, които са с мене в Юда и в Ерусалим, които баща ми Давид е промислил.

Send me now, therefore, a wise man who knows how to work in gold and in silver and in brass and in iron and in purple and crimson and blue and that knows how to engrave figures with the craftsmen that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David, my father, provided.

8 И зпрати ми и кедрови дървета, елхови дървета и алмугови дървета от Ливан; защото зная, че твоите слуги умеят да секат дървета в Ливан; и, ето, моите слуги ще бъдат с твоите слуги,

Send me also cedar trees, fir trees, and pine trees, out of Lebanon, for I know that thy slaves are skillful at cutting timber in Lebanon, and, behold, my slaves shall be with thy slaves

9 з а да ми приготвят изобилно дървета; защото домът, който строя, ще бъде голям и чудесен.

to prepare me timber in abundance, for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful.

10 И ето, ще дам на твоите слуги, дървосечците, двадесет хиляди кора чукано жито, двадесет хиляди кора ечемик, двадесет хиляди вати вино и двадесет хиляди вати дървено масло.

And, behold, I will give to thy slaves, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat and twenty thousand measures of barley and twenty thousand baths of wine and twenty thousand baths of oil.

11 Т огава тирският цар Хирам отговори с писмо, което прати на Соломона: Понеже Господ люби людете Си, за това те е поставил цар над тях.

¶ Then Hiram, the king of Tyre, answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon, Because the LORD has loved his people, he has placed thee as king over them.

12 Р ече още Хирам: Благословен да бъде Господ Израилевият Бог, създател на небето и на земята, Който даде на цар Давида мъдър син, надарен с остроумие и разум, който да построи дом Господу и царска къща.

Hiram said, moreover, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, that made the heavens and the earth, who has given to King David a wise son with knowledge, good sense and understanding, that he might build a house for the LORD and a house for his kingdom.

13 С ега, прочее, пращам <ти> човек изкусен и разумен, майстора си Хирам,

And now I have sent a wise man, with knowledge and understanding, of Hiram my father,

14 с ин на една жена от Давидовите дъщери и на баща тирянин, изкусен и да изработва злато и сребро, мед и желязо, камъни и дърва, и мораво, синьо, висон и червено, тоже да прави всякакви ваяни работи и да изработва всякакво измишление каквото му се внуши, <за да работи той> заедно с твоите изкусни човеци и с изкусните човеци <промислени> от господаря ми баща ти Давида.

the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skillful to work in gold and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, in fine linen, and in crimson; also to engrave any manner of figure and to invent any design which shall be put to him, with thy craftsmen and with the craftsmen of my lord David, thy father.

15 С ега, прочее, нека господарят ми изпрати на слугите си житото и ечемика, дървеното масло и виното, които е обещал;

Now, therefore, let my lord send unto his slaves the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which he has spoken of;

16 а ние ще насечем дърветата от Ливан, колкото ти са потребни, и ще ти ги докараме на салове по море до Иопия, а ти ще ги превозиш в Ерусалим.

and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need, and we will bring it to thee in rafts by sea to Joppa, and thou shalt cause it to be carried up to Jerusalem.

17 И Соломон преброи всичките чужденци, които бяха в Израилевата земя, след преброяването, с което баща му Давид ги бе преброил; и намериха се сто и петдесет и три хиляди и шестстотин души.

And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after David, his father, had already numbered them; and one hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred were found.

18 И от тях назначи седемдесет хиляди за бременосци, и осемдесет хиляди за каменоделци в планините, и три хиляди и шестстотин за надзиратели върху работенето на людете.

And he set seventy thousand of them to be bearers of burdens and eighty thousand to be hewers in the mountain, and three thousand six hundred overseers to make the people work.
