1 ¿ Por qué, oh Dios, nos has desechado para siempre? ¿Por qué se ha encendido tu furor contra las ovejas de tu prado?

¶ O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why does thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

2 A cuérdate de tu congregación, la que adquiriste desde tiempos antiguos, La que redimiste para hacerla la tribu de tu herencia; Este monte de Sión, donde has habitado.

Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed, this Mount Zion, in which thou hast dwelt.

3 D irige tus pasos hacia los asolamientos sin fin, A todo el mal que el enemigo ha hecho en el santuario.

Lift up thy feet unto the eternal desolations, unto every enemy who has done wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 T us enemigos vociferan en medio de tus asambleas; Han puesto sus banderas bien visibles.

Thine enemies have roared in the midst of thy assemblies; they set up their own banners for signs.

5 S e parecen a los que levantan El hacha en medio de un tupido bosque.

Renowned, as one on the way to heaven, he who lifted up axes upon the thick trees for the work of the sanctuary.

6 P ues con hachas y martillos Han quebrado todas sus entalladuras.

But now they break down all the carved work thereof with axes and hammers.

7 H an prendido fuego a tu santuario, Han profanado el tabernáculo de tu nombre, echándolo a tierra.

They have set fire to thy sanctuaries; they have defiled the tabernacle of thy name in the earth.

8 D ijeron en su corazón: Destruyámoslos de una vez; Han quemado todas las sinagogas de Dios en la tierra.

They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them at once; they have burned up all the meeting places of the people of God in the earth.

9 N o vemos ya nuestras enseñas; No existen ya profetas, Ni entre nosotros hay quien sepa hasta cuándo.

We no longer see our own banners; there is no longer any prophet: neither is there among us any that knows. How long shall this be?

10 ¿ Hasta cuándo, oh Dios, nos afrentará el angustiador? ¿Ha de blasfemar el enemigo perpetuamente tu nombre?

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 ¿ Por qué retraes tu mano? ¿Por qué escondes tu diestra en tu seno?

Why dost thou withdraw thy hand, even thy right hand? Why dost thou hide it in thy bosom.

12 P ero Dios es mi rey desde tiempo antiguo; El que obra salvación en medio de la tierra.

¶ For God is my King from of old, he who works saving health in the midst of the earth.

13 D ividiste el mar con tu poder; Quebrantaste cabezas de monstruos marinos.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength; thou didst break the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 M agullaste las cabezas del leviatán, Y lo diste por comida al pueblo y a las bestias.

Thou didst break the heads of leviathan in pieces and didst give him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 A briste la fuente y el torrente; Secaste ríos impetuosos.

Thou didst cleave the fountain and the river; thou didst dry up mighty rivers.

16 T uyo es el día, tuya también es la noche; Tú estableciste la luna y el sol.

The day is thine, the night also is thine; thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 T ú trazaste todos los confines de la tierra; El verano y el invierno tú los formaste.

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth; thou hast made summer and winter.

18 A cuérdate de esto: que el enemigo ha afrentado a Jehová, Y un pueblo insensato ha blasfemado tu nombre.

¶ Remember this, that the enemy has spoken against the LORD and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

19 N o entregues a las fieras el alma de tu tórtola, Y no olvides para siempre la congregación de tus afligidos.

O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the beasts; forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

20 M ira al pacto, Pues los rincones de la tierra están llenos de moradas de violencia.

Have respect unto the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of violence.

21 N o vuelva avergonzado el abatido; Que el afligido y el menesteroso puedan alabar tu nombre.

O let not the oppressed return ashamed; the poor and destitute shall praise thy name.

22 L evántate, oh Dios, defiende tu causa; Acuérdate de cómo el insensato te injuria cada día.

Arise, O God, plead thine own cause; remember how the foolish man reproaches thee daily.

23 N o olvides las voces de tus enemigos; El alboroto de los que se levantan contra ti sube continuamente.

Forget not the voices of thine enemies; the tumult of those that rise up against thee increases continually.
