1 D espués de estas cosas aconteció que David derrotó a los filisteos, y los humilló, y tomó a Gat y sus villas de manos de los filisteos.

¶ Now after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines and subdued them and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 T ambién derrotó a Moab, y los moabitas fueron sometidos a David, trayéndole tributo.

And he smote Moab, and the Moabites became David’s slaves, bringing him presents.

3 A simismo derrotó David a Hadad-ézer rey de Sobá, en Hamat, cuando éste iba a asegurar su dominio sobre el río Eufrates.

And David smote Hadarezer, king of Zobah in Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion unto the river Euphrates.

4 Y le apresó David mil carros, siete mil de a caballo, y veinte mil hombres de a pie; y desjarretó David los caballos de todos los carros, excepto los de cien carros que dejó.

And David took from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; David also hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved those of one hundred chariots.

5 Y viniendo los sirios de Damasco en ayuda de Hadad-ézer rey de Sobá, David hirió de ellos veintidós mil hombres.

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer, king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.

6 Y puso David guarnición en Siria de Damasco, y los sirios fueron sometidos a David, pagándole tributos; porque Jehová daba la victoria a David dondequiera que iba.

Then David put garrisons in Syria, the Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became David’s slaves, bringing him presents. For the LORD saved David wherever he went.

7 T omó también David los escudos de oro que llevaban los siervos de Hadad-ézer, y los trajo a Jerusalén.

And David took the shields of gold that the slaves of Hadarezer carried and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 A simismo de Tibhat y de Cun, ciudades de Hadad-ézer, tomó David muchísimo bronce, con el que Salomón hizo el estanque de bronce, las columnas y los utensilios de bronce.

Likewise from Tibhath and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, with which Solomon made the brasen sea and the pillars and the vessels of brass.

9 Y oyendo Tou rey de Hamat que David había deshecho todo el ejército de Hadad-ézer rey de Sobá,

¶ Now when Tou, king of Hamath, heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer, king of Zobah,

10 e nvió a Adoram su hijo al rey David, para saludarle y felicitarle por haber peleado con Hadad-ézer y haberle vencido; porque Tou tenía guerra contra Hadad-ézer. Le envió también toda clase de utensilios de oro, de plata y de bronce;

he sent Hadoram, his son, to King David, to greet him and to bless him because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him, for Hadarezer had war with Tou. And he sent him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass,

11 l os cuales el rey David dedicó a Jehová, con la plata y el oro que había tomado de todas las naciones de Edom, de Moab, de los hijos de Amón, de los filisteos y de Amalec.

which King David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these Gentiles, from Edom and from Moab and from the sons of Ammon and from the Philistines and from Amalek.

12 A demás de esto, Abisay hijo de Sarvia destrozó en el valle de la Sal a dieciocho mil edomitas.

Moreover, Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, smote Edom in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men.

13 Y puso guarnición en Edom, y todos los edomitas fueron sometidos a David; porque Jehová daba el triunfo a David dondequiera que iba. Oficiales de David

And he put a garrison in Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s slaves. Thus the LORD saved David wherever he went.

14 R einó David sobre todo Israel, y juzgaba con justicia a todo su pueblo.

So David reigned over all Israel and executed judgment and righteousness among all his people.

15 Y Joab hijo de Sarvia era general del ejército, y Josafat hijo de Ahilud, canciller.

And Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was over the host; and Jehoshaphat, the son of Ahilud, writer of the chronicles;

16 S adoc hijo de Ahitub y Abimélec hijo de Abiatar eran sacerdotes, y Savsá, secretario.

and Zadok, the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech, the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;

17 Y Benaía hijo de Joyadá estaba sobre los cereteos y peleteos; y los hijos de David eran los príncipes cerca del rey.

and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were first, at the hand of the king.
