1 ¡ Ay de la ciudad rebelde y contaminada y opresora!

¶ Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!

2 N o escuchó la voz, ni recibió la corrección; no confió en Jehová, no se acercó a su Dios.

She did not obey the voice; she did not receive correction; she did not trust in the LORD; she did not draw near to her God.

3 S us príncipes en medio de ella son leones rugientes; sus jueces, lobos nocturnos que no dejan ni un hueso para la mañana.

Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they do not leave a bone for tomorrow.

4 S us profetas son fanfarrones, hombres traicioneros; sus sacerdotes contaminaron el santuario, han violado la ley.

Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary; they have falsified the law.

5 J ehová en medio de ella es justo, no hará iniquidad; cada mañana sacará a luz su juicio, nunca faltará; pero el perverso no conoce la vergüenza. La lección de las naciones castigadas

The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: each morning he shall bring his judgment to light; he never fails; but the unjust know no shame.

6 H ice destruir naciones; sus torres han sido derruidas; hice desiertas sus calles, hasta no quedar quien pase; sus ciudades están asoladas hasta no quedar hombre, hasta no quedar habitante.

I have caused the Gentiles to be cut off: their castles are desolate; I made their streets waste until no one passes by; their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man left, there is no inhabitant.

7 M e dije: Al menos tú me temerás, y recibirás corrección; y no será destruida su morada según todo aquello por lo cual la castigué. Mas ellos se apresuraron a corromper todos sus hechos.

Saying, Surely now thou wilt fear me; thou wilt receive chastisement; so thy dwelling shall not be thrown down, all of which I visited upon her; but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.

8 P or tanto, esperadme, dice Jehová, hasta el día que me levante para juzgaros; porque mi determinación es reunir las naciones, juntar los reinos, para derramar sobre ellos mi enojo, todo el ardor de mi ira; por el fuego de mi celo será consumida toda la tierra. Conversión de los paganos

¶ Therefore wait for me, said the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey; for my judgment is to gather the Gentiles, that I may assemble the kingdoms to pour upon them my indignation, even all my fierce anger; for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

9 E n aquel tiempo devolveré yo a los pueblos pureza de labios, para que todos invoquen el nombre de Jehová, para que le sirvan de común consentimiento.

For then I will restore to the peoples the pure language that they may all call upon the name of the LORD to serve him with one consent.

10 D e la región más allá de los ríos de Etiopía me suplicarán; la hija de mis esparcidos traerá mi ofrenda.

From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring me an offering.

11 E n aquel día no serás avergonzada por ninguna de tus obras con que te rebelaste contra mí; porque entonces quitaré de en medio de ti a los que se jactan orgullosamente de tu gloria, y nunca más te ensoberbecerás en mi santo monte. El humilde resto de Israel

In that day thou shalt not be ashamed for any of thy doings, in which thou hast rebelled against me, for then I will take away out of the midst of thee those that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no longer be haughty because of the mountain of my holiness.

12 Y dejaré en medio de ti un pueblo humilde y pobre, el cual confiará en el nombre de Jehová.

I will also leave in the midst of thee a poor and humble people, and they shall wait in the name of the LORD.

13 E l remanente de Israel no hará injusticia ni dirá mentira, ni se hallará en la boca de ellos lengua engañosa; porque serán apacentados, y dormirán, y no habrá quien los atemorice. Júbilo mesiánico en Sión

The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they shall be fed and lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.

14 C anta, oh hija de Sión; da voces de júbilo, oh Israel; gózate y regocíjate de todo corazón, hija de Jerusalén.

¶ Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout with joy O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all thy heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

15 J ehová ha revocado sus juicios contra ti, ha echado fuera tus enemigos; Jehová, el Rey de Israel, está en medio de ti; nunca más verás el infortunio.

The LORD has taken away thy judgments; he has cast out thine enemy; the LORD is king of Israel in the midst of thee; thou shalt not see evil any more.

16 E n aquel tiempo se dirá a Jerusalén: No temas; Sión, no se debiliten tus manos.

In that time it shall be said to Jerusalem, Do not fear; and to Zion, Do not let thine hands be slack.

17 J ehová está en medio de ti, como poderoso salvador; se gozará sobre ti con alegría, callará de amor, se regocijará sobre ti con cánticos.

The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save; he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love; he will joy over thee with singing.

18 R euniré a los afligidos por causa del largo tiempo; tuyos son, y para ellos el oprobio de ella es una carga.

I will gather those that are weary because of the long time, who are thine, unto whom her confusion was a burden.

19 H e aquí, en aquel tiempo yo exterminaré a todos tus opresores; y salvaré a la que cojea, y recogeré la descarriada; y las pondré por alabanza y por renombre en todas las tierras donde fueron avergonzadas.

Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee; and I will save her that is lame and gather her that was driven out; and I will make them a praise and of good reputation in every land where they have been put to shame.

20 E n aquel tiempo yo os traeré, en aquel tiempo os reuniré yo; pues os pondré para renombre y para alabanza entre todos los pueblos de la tierra, cuando haga volver a vuestros cautivos delante de vuestros ojos, dice Jehová.

At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you; for I will give you as fame and as praise among all peoples of the earth, when I shall return your captives before your eyes, saith the LORD.
