1 Y entrando Jesús en la barca, pasó al otro lado y vino a su ciudad.

¶ And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city.

2 Y sucedió que le traían un paralítico, tendido sobre una camilla; y al ver Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo al paralítico: Ten ánimo, hijo; tus pecados te son perdonados.

And, behold, they brought him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the paralyzed man, Trust, son; thy sins are forgiven thee.

3 E ntonces algunos de los escribas decían dentro de sí: Éste blasfema.

And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.

4 Y conociendo Jesús los pensamientos de ellos, dijo: ¿Por qué estáis cavilando maldades en vuestros corazones?

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Why think ye evil in your hearts?

5 P orque, ¿qué es más fácil, decir: Los pecados te son perdonados, o decir: Levántate y anda?

For what is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk?

6 P ues para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene potestad en la tierra para perdonar pecados (dice entonces al paralítico): Levántate, toma tu camilla, y vete a tu casa.

But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins (then said he to the paralyzed man), Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

7 E ntonces él se levantó y se fue a su casa.

Then he arose and departed to his house.

8 Y las gentes, al verlo, se llenaron de asombro y glorificaron a Dios, que había dado tal potestad a los hombres. Llamamiento de Mateo

And the multitude, seeing it, marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.

9 P asando Jesús de allí, vio a un hombre llamado Mateo, que estaba sentado en la oficina de los tributos públicos, y le dijo: Sígueme. Y se levantó y le siguió.

¶ And as Jesus passed forth from there, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom; and he said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

10 Y aconteció que estando él sentado a la mesa en la casa, he aquí que muchos publicanos y pecadores, que habían venido, se sentaron a la mesa con Jesús y sus discípulos.

And it came to pass, as he sat at food in his house, behold, many publicans and sinners that had come sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.

11 C uando vieron esto los fariseos, dijeron a los discípulos: ¿Por qué come vuestro Maestro con los publicanos y pecadores?

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why does your Master eat with publicans and sinners?

12 A l oír esto Jesús, les dijo: Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los enfermos.

But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, Those that are whole need not a physician, but those that are sick.

13 I d, pues, y aprended lo que significa: Misericordia quiero, y no sacrificio. Porque no he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores al arrepentimiento. La pregunta sobre el ayuno

Therefore go ye and learn what this is, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

14 E ntonces se le acercaron los discípulos de Juan, diciendo: ¿Por qué nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos muchas veces, y tus discípulos no ayunan?

¶ Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast?

15 J esús les dijo: ¿Acaso pueden los que están de bodas tener luto entretanto que el novio está con ellos? Pero vendrán días cuando el novio les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán.

And Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they shall fast.

16 N adie pone remiendo de paño nuevo en vestido viejo; porque tal remiendo tira del vestido, y el desgarrón se hace mayor.

No one mends an old garment with a piece of new cloth, for that patch takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse.

17 N i echan vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera, los odres se rompen, y el vino se derrama, y los odres se estropean; sino que echan el vino nuevo en odres nuevos, y así ambos se conservan juntamente. La hija de Jairo, y la mujer que tocó el manto del Señor Jesús

Neither do they put new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the wineskins break, and the wine runs out, and the wineskins perish; but they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved together.

18 M ientras él les hablaba estas cosas, se le acercó un dirigente de la sinagoga y se postró ante él, diciendo: Mi hija acaba de morir; mas ven y pon tu mano sobre ella, y vivirá.

¶ While he spoke these things unto them, behold, a certain ruler came and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead; but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.

19 Y se levantó Jesús, y le siguió con sus discípulos.

And Jesus arose and followed him, and so did his disciples.

20 E n esto, una mujer enferma de flujo de sangre desde hacía doce años, se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto;

And, behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years came behind him and touched the hem of his garment;

21 p orque decía dentro de sí: Si tan sólo toco su manto, quedaré sana.

for she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be free.

22 P ero Jesús, volviéndose y mirándola, dijo: Ten ánimo, hija; tu fe te ha salvado. Y la mujer quedó curada desde aquella hora.

But Jesus turned around, and when he saw her, he said, Trust, daughter; thy faith has made thee free. And the woman was free from that hour.

23 A l entrar Jesús en la casa del dirigente, viendo a los que tocaban flautas, y la gente que hacía alboroto,

And when Jesus came into the ruler’s house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

24 l es dijo: Retiraos, porque la niña no está muerta, sino que duerme. Y se burlaban de él.

he said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleeps. And they laughed him to scorn.

25 P ero cuando la gente había sido echada fuera, entró, y tomó de la mano a la niña, y ella se levantó.

But when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

26 Y se difundió esta noticia por toda aquella tierra. Dos ciegos obtienen la vista

And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.

27 P asando Jesús de allí, le siguieron dos ciegos, diciéndole a gritos: ¡Ten compasión de nosotros, Hijo de David!

¶ And when Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed him, crying out and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

28 Y llegado a la casa, se le acercaron los ciegos; y Jesús les dijo: ¿Creéis que puedo hacer esto? Ellos dijeron: Sí, Señor.

And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him; and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yes, Lord.

29 E ntonces les tocó los ojos, diciendo: Conforme a vuestra fe os sea hecho.

Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

30 Y los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos. Y Jesús les encargó rigurosamente, diciendo: Mirad que nadie lo sepa.

And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no one knows it.

31 P ero ellos, apenas salieron, divulgaron la fama de él por toda aquella tierra. Un mudo habla

But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

32 M ientras salían ellos, le trajeron un mudo, endemoniado.

And as they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a demon.

33 Y una vez echado fuera el demonio, el mudo habló; y las gentes se maravillaron, y decían: Nunca se ha visto cosa semejante en Israel.

And when the demon was cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the multitude marvelled, saying, Such a thing has never been seen in Israel.

34 P ero los fariseos decían: Por el príncipe de los demonios echa fuera los demonios. La mies es mucha

But the Pharisees said, He casts out demons through the prince of the demons.

35 R ecorría Jesús todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, y predicando el evangelio del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.

¶ And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every sickness and every weakness among the people.

36 Y al ver las multitudes, se compadeció de ellas; porque estaban extenuadas y abatidas como ovejas que no tienen pastor.

And when he saw the multitude, he was moved with compassion on them because they fainted and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37 E ntonces dijo a sus discípulos: A la verdad la mies es mucha, mas los obreros pocos.

Then he said unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 R ogad, pues, al Señor de la mies, que envíe obreros a su mies.

pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
