1 L a sabiduría edifica su casa; Mas la necedad con sus manos la derriba.
¶ Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.
2 E l que camina en rectitud, teme a Jehová; Mas el de caminos tortuosos, lo menosprecia.
¶ He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD, but he that is perverse in his ways despises him.
3 E n la boca del necio está la raíz de su soberbia; Mas los labios de los sabios los protegerán.
¶ In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4 S in bueyes, el granero está vacío; Mas por la fuerza del buey hay abundancia de pan.
¶ Without oxen, the storehouse is clean, but by the strength of the ox there is abundance of bread.
5 E l testigo verdadero no mentirá; Mas el testigo falso hablará mentiras.
¶ The true witness will not lie, but the false witness will utter lies.
6 B usca el escarnecedor la sabiduría y no la halla; Mas al hombre entendido la sabiduría le es fácil.
¶ The scorner sought wisdom and found it not, but wisdom comes easy unto him that understands.
7 D eja la compañía del hombre necio, Porque en él no hallarás labios de ciencia.
¶ Go from the presence of the foolish man when thou dost not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.
8 L a ciencia del prudente está en discernir su camino; Mas la indiscreción de los necios es engaño.
¶ The wisdom of the sane is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 L os necios se mofan del pecado; Mas los rectos disfrutan del favor de Dios.
¶ Fools speak sin unto themselves, but among the righteous there is love.
10 E l corazón conoce la amargura de su propia alma; Y ningún extraño se entremeterá en su alegría.
¶ The heart knows the bitterness of his soul, and a stranger shall not intermeddle with his joy.
11 L a casa de los impíos será asolada; Pero florecerá la tienda de los rectos.
¶ The house of the wicked shall be made desolate, but the tent of the upright shall flourish.
12 H ay camino que al hombre le parece derecho; Pero al final es un camino de muerte.
¶ There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 A un en la risa tendrá dolor el corazón; Y el término de la alegría es congoja.
¶ Even in laughter, the scorner has pain in his heart, and the end of that mirth is heaviness.
14 D e sus caminos recibirá hartura el necio de corazón; Pero el hombre de bien estará contento del suyo.
¶ The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways, and the good man shall be separated from him.
15 E l simple todo se lo cree; Mas el avisado mira bien sus pasos.
¶ The simple believes every word, but the prudent man understands his steps.
16 E l sabio teme y se aparta del mal; Mas el insensato se muestra insolente y confiado.
¶ The wise man fears and departs from evil, but the fool rages and is confident.
17 E l que fácilmente se enoja hará locuras; Y el hombre perverso será aborrecido.
¶ He that is soon angry shall deal foolishly, and the man of wicked devices shall be hated.
18 L os simples heredarán necedad; Mas los prudentes se coronarán de sabiduría.
¶ The simple shall inherit folly, but the prudent shall be crowned with wisdom.
19 L os malos se inclinarán delante de los buenos, Y los impíos a las puertas del justo.
¶ Those who are evil shall bow before those who are good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 E l pobre es odioso aun a sus parientes; Pero el rico tiene muchos amigos.
¶ The poor is hated even of his own neighbour, but many are those who love the rich.
21 P eca el que menosprecia a su prójimo; Mas el que tiene misericordia de los pobres es dichoso.
¶ The sinner despises his neighbour, but he that has mercy on the poor is blessed.
22 ¿ No yerran los que planean el mal? Misericordia y verdad alcanzarán los que piensan el bien.
¶ Do they not err that meditate upon evil? but those that meditate upon good shall attain mercy and truth.
23 E n toda labor hay fruto; Mas las vanas palabras de los labios empobrecen.
¶ In all labour there is fruit, but to talk and not do, brings poverty.
24 L as riquezas de los sabios son su corona; Pero la insensatez de los necios es infatuación.
¶ The crown of the wise is their wisdom, but that which distinguishes fools is their folly.
25 E l testigo verdadero libra las almas; Mas el engañoso hablará mentiras.
¶ The true witness delivers souls, but the deceitful one speaks lies.
26 E n el temor de Jehová está la fuerte confianza; Y esperanza tendrán sus hijos.
¶ In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence, and there his sons shall have hope.
27 E l temor de Jehová es manantial de vida Para apartarse de los lazos de la muerte.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28 E n la multitud del pueblo está la gloria del rey; Y en la falta del pueblo la debilidad del príncipe.
¶ In the multitude of the people is the king’s glory, but in the failure of the people is the weakness of the prince.
29 E l que tarda en airarse es grande de entendimiento; Mas el de genio pronto, está lleno de necedad.
¶ He that is slow to wrath is of great intelligence, but he that is short of spirit exalts folly.
30 E l corazón apacible es vida para el cuerpo; Mas la envidia es carcoma de los huesos.
¶ A sound heart is life to the flesh, but envy is rottenness of the bones.
31 E l que oprime al pobre, afrenta a su Hacedor; Mas el que tiene misericordia del pobre, lo honra.
¶ He that oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he that has mercy on the poor, honours him.
32 P or su maldad será derribado el impío; Mas el justo aun en su muerte tiene esperanza.
¶ For his wickedness shall the wicked be cast out, but the righteous in his death has hope.
33 E n el corazón del prudente reposa la sabiduría; Pero no es conocida en el interior de los necios.
¶ Wisdom shall rest in the heart of him that is sane and is made known in the midst of the fools.
34 L a justicia engrandece a las naciones; Mas el pecado es la vergüenza de los pueblos.
¶ Righteousness exalts a people, but sin is a reproach to the nations.
35 L a benevolencia del rey es para con el servidor prudente; Mas su enojo, contra el que le avergüenza.
¶ The king’s favour is toward the wise slave, but his wrath is against him that causes shame.
