¶ When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,

2 J udá vino a ser su santuario, E Israel su dominio,

Judah was his holiness, and Israel his dominion.

3 E l mar lo vio, y huyó; El Jordán se volvió atrás.

The sea saw it and fled; Jordan was driven back.

4 L os montes saltaron como carneros, Los collados como corderitos.

The mountains skipped like rams and the little hills like lambs.

5 ¿ Qué te pasó, oh mar, que huiste? ¿Y a ti, oh Jordán, que te volviste atrás?

What came upon thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee? And thou O Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

6 O h montes, ¿por qué saltasteis como corderos, Y vosotros, collados, como corderitos?

Ye mountains, why didst ye skip like rams and ye little hills, like lambs?

7 A la presencia de Jehová tiembla la tierra, A la presencia del Dios de Jacob,

At the presence of the Lord, the earth trembles, at the presence of the God of Jacob,

8 E l cual cambió la peña en estanque de aguas, Y en manantial de aguas la roca.

who turned the rock into a reservoir of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
