1 D espués, pasados catorce años, subí otra vez a Jerusalén con Bernabé, llevando también conmigo a Tito.

¶ Then fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and took Titus with me also.

2 P ero subí según una revelación, y les expuse el evangelio que predico entre los gentiles, pero lo hice en privado a los que figuraban como dirigentes, no sea que yo esté corriendo o haya corrido en vano.

But I went up by revelation and communicated unto them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who seemed to be of repute, to not run, or have run, in vain.

3 M as ni aun Tito, que estaba conmigo, con todo y ser griego, fue obligado a circuncidarse.

But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised,

4 Y fue por causa de los falsos hermanos infiltrados solapadamente, que habían entrado para espiar nuestra libertad que tenemos en Cristo Jesús, a fin de reducirnos a esclavitud,

And that in spite of the false brethren, who entered secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage;

5 a los cuales ni por un momento accedimos a someternos, para que la verdad del evangelio sea salvaguardada para vosotros.

Unto whom we did not submit even for one hour that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

6 P ero de parte de los que parecían ser algo (lo que eran entonces nada me importa; Dios no hace acepción de personas), a mí, pues, los que figuraban nada nuevo me dieron;

But of these who seemed to be of repute, (whatever they were, it makes no matter to me: God does not accept the appearance of men), for those who seemed to be of repute in conference added nothing to me;

7 s ino que, por el contrario, como vieron que me había sido confiado el evangelio de la incircuncisión, como a Pedro el de la circuncisión

But to the contrary, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter

8 ( pues el que actuó en Pedro para el apostolado de la circuncisión, actuó también en mí para con los gentiles),

(for he that showed himself forth in Peter for apostleship of the circumcision, the same also showed himself forth in me toward the Gentiles);

9 y reconociendo la gracia que me había sido dada, Jacobo, Cefas y Juan, que eran considerados como columnas, nos dieron a mí y a Bernabé la diestra en señal de compañerismo, para que nosotros fuésemos a los gentiles, y ellos a los de la circuncisión.

and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision.

10 S olamente nos pidieron que nos acordásemos de los pobres; lo cual yo también procuré hacerlo con diligencia. Pablo reprende a Pedro en Antioquía

Only they asked that we should remember the poor; the same which I was also diligent to do.

11 P ero cuando Pedro vino a Antioquía, le resistí cara a cara, porque se había hecho digno de reprensión.

¶ But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face because he was to be blamed.

12 P ues antes que viniesen algunos de parte de Jacobo, comía con los gentiles; pero después que vinieron, se retraía y se separaba, porque tenía miedo de los de la circuncisión.

For before certain ones came from James, he ate with the Gentiles, but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

13 Y de su simulación participaron también los demás judíos, de tal manera que aun Bernabé fue también arrastrado por la hipocresía de ellos.

And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him, insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their hypocrisy.

14 P ero cuando vi que no andaban rectamente conforme a la verdad del evangelio, dije a Pedro delante de todos: Si tú, siendo judío, vives como los gentiles y no como judío, ¿cómo obligas a los gentiles a judaizar?

But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, dost live after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

15 N osotros, judíos de nacimiento, y no pecadores de entre los gentiles,

We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

16 s abiendo que el hombre no es justificado a base de las obras de la ley, sino por medio de la fe de Jesucristo, nosotros también hemos creído en Cristo Jesús, para ser justificados a base de la fe de Cristo y no de las obras de la ley, por cuanto nadie será justificado a base de las obras de la ley.

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17 Y si buscando ser justificados en Cristo, también nosotros hemos sido hallados pecadores, ¿es por eso Cristo ministro de pecado? ¡En ninguna manera!

But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of our sin? No, in no wise.

18 P orque si vuelvo a edificar las mismas cosas que destruí, me constituyo transgresor.

For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a rebel.

19 P orque por medio de la ley yo he muerto para la ley, a fin de vivir para Dios.

For through the law I am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20 C on Cristo estoy juntamente crucificado, y ya no vivo yo, sino que Cristo vive en mí; y lo que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo en la fe del Hijo de Dios, el cual me amó y se entregó a sí mismo por mí.

I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

21 N o desecho la gracia de Dios; pues si por medio de la ley se obtuviese la justicia, entonces Cristo murió en vano.

I do not reject the grace of God, for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
