1 A contecerá que si oyes atentamente la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar y poner por obra todos sus mandamientos que yo te prescribo hoy, también Jehová tu Dios te exaltará sobre todas las naciones de la tierra.

¶ And it shall come to pass if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God to keep and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all the Gentiles of the earth;

2 Y vendrán sobre ti todas estas bendiciones, y te alcanzarán, si oyes la voz de Jehová tu Dios.

and all these blessings shall come upon thee and overtake thee when thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

3 B endito serás tú en la ciudad, y bendito tú en el campo.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

4 B endito el fruto de tu vientre, el fruto de tu tierra, el fruto de tus bestias, la cría de tus vacas y los rebaños de tus ovejas.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground and the fruit of thy beasts, the increase of thy cows, and the flocks of thy sheep.

5 B enditas serán tu canasta y tu artesa de amasar.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

6 B endito serás en tu entrar, y bendito en tu salir.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

7 J ehová derrotará a tus enemigos que se levanten contra ti; por un camino saldrán contra ti, y por siete caminos huirán de delante de ti.

The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face; they shall come out against thee one way and flee before thee seven ways.

8 J ehová te enviará su bendición sobre tus graneros, y sobre todo aquello en que pongas tu mano; y te bendecirá en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da.

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God gives thee.

9 T e confirmará Jehová por pueblo santo suyo, como te lo ha jurado, si guardas los mandamientos de Jehová tu Dios, y andas en sus caminos.

The LORD shall confirm thee as his holy people, as he has sworn unto thee, when thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God and walk in his ways.

10 Y verán todos los pueblos de la tierra que el nombre de Jehová es invocado sobre ti, y te temerán.

And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of thee.

11 Y te hará Jehová sobreabundar en bienes, en el fruto de tu vientre, en el fruto de tu bestia, y en el fruto de tu tierra, en el país que Jehová juró a tus padres que te había de dar.

And the LORD shall cause thee to have good in abundance in the fruit of thy body and in the fruit of thy beasts and in the fruit of thy ground, upon the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 T e abrirá Jehová su buen tesoro, el cielo, para enviar la lluvia a tu tierra en su tiempo, y para bendecir toda obra de tus manos. Y prestarás a muchas naciones, y tú no pedirás prestado.

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven, to give the rain unto thy land in its season and to bless all the work of thine hand. And thou shalt lend unto many Gentiles, and thou shalt not borrow.

13 T e pondrá Jehová por cabeza, y no por cola; y estarás encima solamente, y no estarás debajo, si obedeces los mandamientos de Jehová tu Dios, que yo te ordeno hoy, para que los guardes y cumplas,

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail, and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath, when thou shalt hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to keep them and to fulfill them.

14 y si no te apartas de todas las palabras que yo te mando hoy, ni a diestra ni a siniestra, para ir tras dioses ajenos y servirles. Consecuencias de la desobediencia

And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

15 P ero acontecerá, si no oyes la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para procurar cumplir todos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos que yo te intimo hoy, que vendrán sobre ti todas estas maldiciones, y te alcanzarán.

¶ And it shall come to pass if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep, to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee today, that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee.

16 M aldito serás tú en la ciudad, y maldito en el campo.

Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

17 M aldita tu canasta, y tu artesa de amasar.

Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.

18 M aldito el fruto de tu vientre, el fruto tu tierra, la cría de tus vacas, y los rebaños de tus ovejas.

Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy cows and the flocks of thy sheep.

19 M aldito serás en tu entrar, y maldito en tu salir.

Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

20 Y Jehová enviará contra ti la maldición, el desastre y la amenaza en todo cuanto pongas tu mano para hacerlo, hasta que seas destruido, y perezcas pronto a causa de la maldad de tus obras por las cuales me habrás dejado.

The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, destruction and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand to do, until thou art destroyed and perish quickly because of the wickedness of thy doings, by which thou hast forsaken me.

21 J ehová traerá sobre ti mortandad, hasta que te consuma de la tierra a la cual entras para tomar posesión de ella.

The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee until he has consumed thee from off the land into which thou dost enter to inherit it.

22 J ehová te herirá de tisis, de fiebre, de inflamación y de ardor, con sequía, con calamidad repentina y con añublo; y te perseguirán hasta que perezcas.

The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption and with a fever and with an inflammation and with an extreme burning and with the sword and with blight and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

23 Y los cielos que están sobre tu cabeza serán de bronce, y la tierra que está debajo de ti, de hierro.

And thy heavens which are over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

24 D ará Jehová por lluvia a tu tierra polvo y ceniza; de los cielos descenderán sobre ti hasta que perezcas.

The LORD shall make the rain of thy land dust and ashes; from the heavens it shall come down upon thee, until thou art destroyed.

25 J ehová te entregará derrotado delante de tus enemigos; por un camino saldrás contra ellos, y por siete caminos huirás delante de ellos; y serás objeto de horror para todos los reinos de la tierra.

The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies; thou shalt go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them and shalt be an object of trembling unto all the kingdoms of the earth.

26 Y tus cadáveres servirán de comida a toda ave del cielo y fiera de la tierra, y no habrá quien las espante.

And thy carcase shall be food unto all fowls of the air and unto the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away.

27 J ehová te herirá con la úlcera de Egipto, con tumores, con sarna, y con comezón de los que no podrás ser curado.

The LORD will smite thee with the boil of Egypt and with the hemorrhoids and with the scab and with the itch, of which thou canst not be healed.

28 J ehová te herirá con locura, ceguera y turbación de espíritu;

The LORD shall smite thee with madness and blindness and astonishment of heart.

29 y palparás a mediodía como palpa el ciego en la oscuridad, y no serás prosperado en tus caminos; y no serás sino oprimido y robado todos los días, y no habrá quien te salve.

And thou shalt grope at noonday as the blind grope in the darkness, and thou shalt not be prospered in thy ways; and thou shalt only be oppressed and spoiled all the days, and there shall be no one to save thee.

30 T e desposarás con mujer, y otro varón dormirá con ella; edificarás casa, y no habitarás en ella; plantarás viña, y no la disfrutarás.

Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her; thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwell therein; thou shalt plant a vineyard and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

31 T u buey será matado delante de tus ojos, y tú no comerás de él; tu asno será arrebatado de delante de ti, y no te será devuelto; tus ovejas serán dadas a tus enemigos, y no tendrás quien te las rescate.

Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof; thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face and shall not be restored to thee; thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have no one to rescue them.

32 T us hijos y tus hijas serán entregados a otro pueblo, y tus ojos lo verán, y desfallecerán por ellos todo el día; y no habrá fuerza en tu mano.

Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no strength in thine hand.

33 E l fruto de tu tierra y de todo tu trabajo se lo comerá un pueblo que no conociste; y no serás sino oprimido y quebrantado todos los días.

The fruit of thy land and all thy labours shall a people which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt only be oppressed and crushed all the days.

34 Y enloquecerás a causa de lo que verás con tus ojos.

So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

35 T e herirá Jehová con maligna pústula en las rodillas y en las piernas, desde la planta de tu pie hasta tu coronilla, sin que puedas ser curado.

The LORD shall smite thee in the knees and in the legs with an evil boil that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

36 J ehová te llevará a ti, y al rey que haya puesto sobre ti, a una nación que no conociste ni tú ni tus padres; y allí servirás a dioses ajenos, de madera y de piedra.

The LORD shall bring thee and thy king which thou shalt set over thee unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, and there shalt thou serve other gods, even wood and stone.

37 Y serás motivo de horror, y servirás de refrán y de burla a todos los pueblos a los cuales te llevará Jehová.

And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all nations where the LORD shall carry thee away.

38 S acarás mucha semilla al campo, y recogerás poco, porque la langosta lo consumirá.

Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field and shalt gather but little in, for the locust shall consume it.

39 P lantarás viñas y labrarás, pero no beberás vino, ni recogerás uvas, porque el gusano se las comerá.

Thou shalt plant vineyards and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worms shall eat them.

40 T endrás olivos en todo tu territorio, mas no te ungirás con el aceite, porque tu aceituna se caerá.

Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall fall.

41 H ijos e hijas engendrarás, y no serán para ti, porque irán en cautiverio.

Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

42 T oda tu arboleda y el fruto de tu tierra serán consumidos por la langosta.

All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

43 E l extranjero que estará en medio de ti se elevará a costa tuya cada vez más alto, y tú caerás cada vez más bajo.

The stranger that is in the midst of thee shall get up above thee very high, and thou shalt come down very low.

44 É l te prestará a ti, y tú no le prestarás a él; él será por cabeza, y tú serás por cola.

He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him; he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

45 Y vendrán sobre ti todas estas maldiciones, y te perseguirán, y te alcanzarán hasta que perezcas; por cuanto no habrás atendido a la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar sus mandamientos y sus estatutos, que él te mandó;

¶ Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee and shall pursue thee and overtake thee until thou art destroyed because thou shalt not have attended unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee;

46 y serán por señal y por prodigio, sobre ti y sobre tu descendencia para siempre.

and they shall be in thee for a sign and for a wonder, and in thy seed for ever.

47 P or cuanto no serviste a Jehová tu Dios con alegría y con gozo de corazón, cuando abundabas en todas las cosas,

Because thou didst not serve the LORD thy God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

48 s ervirás a tus enemigos que enviará Jehová contra ti, con hambre y con sed y con desnudez, y con falta de todas las cosas; y él pondrá yugo de hierro sobre tu cuello, hasta destruirte.

therefore, thou shalt serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger and in thirst and in nakedness and in lack of all things; and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck until he has destroyed thee.

49 J ehová traerá contra ti una nación de lejos, del extremo de la tierra, que vuele como águila, nación cuya lengua no entenderás;

The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand,

50 g ente fiera de rostro, que no tendrá respeto al anciano, ni perdonará al niño;

a nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old nor show favour to the young;

51 y comerá el fruto de tu bestia y el fruto de tu tierra, hasta que perezcas; y no te dejará grano, ni mosto, ni aceite, ni la cría de tus vacas, ni los rebaños de tus ovejas, hasta destruirte.

and he shall eat the fruit of thy beast and the fruit of thy land until thou art destroyed, which also shall not leave thee either grain, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy cows or flocks of thy sheep until he has destroyed thee.

52 P ondrá sitio a todas tus ciudades, hasta que caigan tus muros altos y fortificados en que tú confías, en toda tu tierra; sitiará, pues, todas tus ciudades y toda la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te haya dado.

And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates until thy high and fenced walls come down, in which thou dost trust, throughout all thy land; and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God has given thee.

53 Y comerás el fruto de tu vientre, la carne de tus hijos y de tus hijas que Jehová tu Dios te dio, en el asedio y en el apuro con que te angustiará tu enemigo.

And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God has given thee, in the siege and in the straitness with which thine enemies shall distress thee.

54 E l hombre tierno en medio de ti, y el muy delicado, mirará con malos ojos a su hermano, y a la esposa de su corazón, y al resto de sus hijos que le queden;

The man that is tender among you and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother and toward the wife of his bosom and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave,

55 p ara no dar a ninguno de ellos de la carne de sus hijos, que él estará comiendo, por no haberle quedado nada, en el asedio y el apuro con que tu enemigo te oprimirá en todas tus ciudades,

so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat, because he shall have nothing left him in the siege and in the straitness with which thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

56 L a tierna y la delicada entre vosotros, que no osaría sentar sobre la tierra la planta de su pie, de pura delicadeza y ternura, mirará con malos ojos al esposo de su corazón, e incluso a su hijo y a su hija,

The tender and delicate woman among you who would not venture to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom and toward her son and toward her daughter

57 y aun al bebé que corretea entre sus pies, y a sus hijos que haya dado a luz; pues los comerá ocultamente, por la carencia de todo, en el asedio y en el apuro con que tu enemigo te oprimirá en tus ciudades.

and toward her young one that comes out from between her feet and toward her children which she shall bear, for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness with which thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates,

58 S i no cuidas de poner por obra todas las palabras de esta ley que están escritas en este libro, temiendo este nombre glorioso y terrible: JEHOVÁ TU DIOS,

if thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book that thou may fear this glorious and fearful name; I AM thy God.

59 e ntonces Jehová aumentará prodigiosamente tus plagas y las plagas de tu descendencia, plagas grandes y permanentes, y enfermedades malignas y duraderas;

Then the LORD will augment thy plagues wonderfully, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues and of long continuance, and evil sicknesses and of long continuance.

60 y traerá sobre ti todos los males de Egipto, delante de los cuales temiste, y no te dejarán.

Moreover, he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of, and they shall cleave unto thee.

61 A simismo toda enfermedad y toda plaga que no está escrita en el libro de esta ley, Jehová la enviará sobre ti, hasta que seas destruido.

Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, the LORD will bring upon thee until thou art destroyed.

62 Y quedaréis pocos en número, en lugar de haber sido como las estrellas del cielo en multitud, por cuanto no obedecisteis a la voz de Jehová tu Dios.

And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude, because thou would not hear the voice of the LORD thy God.

63 A sí como Jehová se gozaba en haceros bien y en multiplicaros, así se gozará Jehová en arruinaros y en destruiros; y seréis arrancados de sobre la tierra a la cual entráis para tomar posesión de ella.

And it shall come to pass that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to cause you to perish and to destroy you; and ye shall be plucked from off the land into which thou dost enter in to inherit it.

64 Y Jehová te esparcirá por todos los pueblos, desde un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro extremo; y allí servirás a dioses ajenos que no conociste tú ni tus padres, al leño y a la piedra.

And the LORD shall scatter thee among all the peoples from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

65 Y ni aun entre estas naciones descansarás, ni la planta de tu pie tendrá reposo: pues allí te dará Jehová corazón miedoso, y desfallecimiento de ojos, y tristeza de alma;

Neither shalt thou find rest among these Gentiles, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest; but there the LORD shall give thee a trembling heart and failing of eyes and sorrow of soul;

66 y tendrás tu vida como pendiente de un hilo delante de ti, y estarás con miedo de noche y de día, y no tendrás seguridad de tu vida.

and thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night and shalt have no assurance of thy life.

67 P or la mañana dirás: ¡Quién diera que fuese la tarde!; y a la tarde dirás: ¡Quién diera que fuese la mañana!, por el miedo de tu corazón con que estarás amedrentado, y por lo que verán tus ojos.

In the morning thou shalt say, I wish it were evening, and in the evening thou shalt say, I wish it were morning! For the fear of thine heart with which thou shalt fear and for that which thine eyes shall see.

68 Y Jehová te hará volver a Egipto en naves, por el camino del cual te ha dicho: Nunca más volverás; y allí seréis vendidos a vuestros enemigos por esclavos y por esclavas, y no habrá quien os compre.

And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again in ships by the way of which I spoke unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again; and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for menslaves and womenslaves, and there shall be no one to buy you.
