1 Y aconteció después de estas cosas, que Dios puso a prueba a Abraham, y le dijo: Abraham. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.

¶ And it came to pass after these things that God proved Abraham and said unto him, Abraham; and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 Y le dijo: Toma ahora tu hijo, tu único, Isaac, a quien amas, y vete a tierra de Moría, y ofrécelo allí en holocausto sobre uno de los montes que yo te diré.

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou dost love, and go to the land of Moriah and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

3 Y Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y enalbardó su asno, y tomó consigo dos siervos suyos, y a Isaac su hijo; y cortó leña para el holocausto, y se levantó, y fue al lugar que Dios le dijo.

¶ And Abraham rose up early in the morning and saddled his ass and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son, and cut the wood for the burnt offering and rose up and went unto the place of which God had told him.

4 A l tercer día alzó Abraham sus ojos, y vio el lugar de lejos.

Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off.

5 E ntonces dijo Abraham a sus siervos: Esperad aquí con el asno, y yo y el muchacho iremos hasta allí y adoraremos, y volveremos a vosotros.

And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you.

6 Y tomó Abraham la leña del holocausto, y la puso sobre Isaac su hijo, y él tomó en su mano el fuego y el cuchillo; e iban ambos juntos.

And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac, his son; and he took the fire in his hand and the knife; and they both went together.

7 E ntonces habló Isaac a Abraham su padre, y le dijo: Padre mío. Y él respondió: Heme aquí, mi hijo. Y él dijo: He aquí el fuego y la leña; mas ¿dónde está el cordero para el holocausto?

Then Isaac spoke unto Abraham his father and said, My father; and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?

8 Y respondió Abraham: Dios se proveerá de cordero para el holocausto, hijo mío. E iban juntos.

And Abraham answered, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering, so they both went together.

9 Y cuando llegaron al lugar que Dios le había dicho, edificó allí Abraham un altar, y compuso la leña, y ató a Isaac su hijo, y lo puso en el altar sobre la leña.

And when they came to the place which God had told him of, Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10 Y extendió Abraham su mano y tomó el cuchillo para degollar a su hijo.

And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

11 E ntonces el Ángel de Jehová le dio voces desde el cielo, y dijo: Abraham, Abraham. Y él respondió: Heme aquí.

¶ Then the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham; and he said, Here am I.

12 Y dijo: No extiendas tu mano sobre el muchacho, ni le hagas nada; porque ya conozco que temes a Dios, por cuanto no me rehusaste tu hijo, tu único.

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him; for now I know that thou doest fear God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

13 E ntonces alzó Abraham sus ojos y miró, y he aquí a sus espaldas un carnero trabado en un zarzal por sus cuernos; y fue Abraham y tomó el carnero, y lo ofreció en holocausto en lugar de su hijo.

And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and beheld behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

14 Y llamó Abraham el nombre de aquel lugar, Jehová proveerá. Por tanto se dice hoy: En el monte de Jehová será provisto.

And Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Shall See (YHWH-jireh). Therefore it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

15 Y llamó el Ángel de Jehová a Abraham segunda vez desde el cielo,

¶ And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time

16 y dijo: Por mí mismo he jurado, dice Jehová, que por cuanto has hecho esto, y no me has rehusado tu hijo, tú único hijo;

and said, By myself I have sworn, said the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son;

17 d e cierto te bendeciré, y multiplicaré tu descendencia como las estrellas del cielo y como la arena que está a la orilla del mar; y tu descendencia poseerá las puertas de sus enemigos.

that in blessing I will bless thee and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gates of his enemies;

18 E n tu simiente serán benditas todas las naciones de la tierra, por cuanto obedeciste a mi voz.

and in thy seed shall all the Gentiles of the earth be blessed because thou hast hearkened unto my voice.

19 Y volvió Abraham a sus siervos, y se levantaron y se fueron juntos a Beerseba; y habitó Abraham en Beerseba.

So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

20 Y aconteció después de estas cosas, que fue dada nueva a Abraham, diciendo: He aquí que también Milca ha dado a luz hijos a Nacor tu hermano:

¶ And it came to pass after these things that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she has also born sons unto thy brother Nahor;

21 U z su primogénito, Buz su hermano, Kemuel padre de Aram,

Huz, his firstborn, and Buz, his brother, and Kemuel, the father of Aram

22 Q uesed, Hazo, Pildas, Jidlaf y Betuel.

and Chesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel.

23 Y Betuel fue el padre de Rebeca. Éstos son los ocho hijos que dio a luz Milca, de Nacor hermano de Abraham.

And Bethuel begat Rebekah. Milcah gave birth to these eight unto Nahor, Abraham’s brother.

24 Y su concubina, que se llamaba Reúma, dio a luz también a Teba, a Gaham, a Tahas y a Maaca.

And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, also gave birth to Tebah and Gaham and Thahash and Maachah.
