1 П отом, через четырнадцать лет, опять ходил я в Иерусалим с Варнавою, взяв с собою и Тита.

¶ Then fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and took Titus with me also.

2 Х одил же по откровению, и предложил там, и особо знаменитейшим, благовествование, проповедуемое мною язычникам, не напрасно ли я подвизаюсь или подвизался.

But I went up by revelation and communicated unto them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who seemed to be of repute, to not run, or have run, in vain.

3 Н о они и Тита, бывшего со мною, хотя и Еллина, не принуждали обрезаться,

But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised,

4 а вкравшимся лжебратиям, скрытно приходившим подсмотреть за нашею свободою, которую мы имеем во Христе Иисусе, чтобы поработить нас,

And that in spite of the false brethren, who entered secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus that they might bring us into bondage;

5 м ы ни на час не уступили и не покорились, дабы истина благовествования сохранилась у вас.

Unto whom we did not submit even for one hour that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

6 И в знаменитых чем-либо, какими бы ни были они когда-либо, для меня нет ничего особенного: Бог не взирает на лице человека. И знаменитые не возложили на меня ничего более.

But of these who seemed to be of repute, (whatever they were, it makes no matter to me: God does not accept the appearance of men), for those who seemed to be of repute in conference added nothing to me;

7 Н апротив того, увидев, что мне вверено благовестие для необрезанных, как Петру для обрезанных--

But to the contrary, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter

8 и бо Содействовавший Петру в апостольстве у обрезанных содействовал и мне у язычников, --

(for he that showed himself forth in Peter for apostleship of the circumcision, the same also showed himself forth in me toward the Gentiles);

9 и , узнав о благодати, данной мне, Иаков и Кифа и Иоанн, почитаемые столпами, подали мне и Варнаве руку общения, чтобы нам к язычникам, а им к обрезанным,

and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision.

10 т олько чтобы мы помнили нищих, что и старался я исполнять в точности.

Only they asked that we should remember the poor; the same which I was also diligent to do.

11 К огда же Петр пришел в Антиохию, то я лично противостал ему, потому что он подвергался нареканию.

¶ But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face because he was to be blamed.

12 И бо, до прибытия некоторых от Иакова, ел вместе с язычниками; а когда те пришли, стал таиться и устраняться, опасаясь обрезанных.

For before certain ones came from James, he ate with the Gentiles, but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

13 В месте с ним лицемерили и прочие Иудеи, так что даже Варнава был увлечен их лицемерием.

And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him, insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their hypocrisy.

14 Н о когда я увидел, что они не прямо поступают по истине Евангельской, то сказал Петру при всех: если ты, будучи Иудеем, живешь по-язычески, а не по-иудейски, то для чего язычников принуждаешь жить по-иудейски?

But when I saw that they did not walk uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, dost live after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

15 М ы по природе Иудеи, а не из язычников грешники;

We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,

16 о днако же, узнав, что человек оправдывается не делами закона, а только верою в Иисуса Христа, и мы уверовали во Христа Иисуса, чтобы оправдаться верою во Христа, а не делами закона; ибо делами закона не оправдается никакая плоть.

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17 Е сли же, ища оправдания во Христе, мы и сами оказались грешниками, то неужели Христос есть служитель греха? Никак.

But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of our sin? No, in no wise.

18 И бо если я снова созидаю, что разрушил, то сам себя делаю преступником.

For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a rebel.

19 З аконом я умер для закона, чтобы жить для Бога. Я сораспялся Христу,

For through the law I am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20 и уже не я живу, но живет во мне Христос. А что ныне живу во плоти, то живу верою в Сына Божия, возлюбившего меня и предавшего Себя за меня.

I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

21 Н е отвергаю благодати Божией; а если законом оправдание, то Христос напрасно умер.

I do not reject the grace of God, for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
