1 У слышав, Иавин, царь Асорский, послал к Иоваву, царю Мадонскому, и к царю Шимронскому, и к царю Ахсафскому,

¶ Hearing of this, Jabin, king of Hazor, sent a message unto Jobab, king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron and to the king of Achshaph

2 и к царям, которые к северу на горе и на равнине с южной стороны Хиннарофа, и на низменных местах, и в Нафоф-Доре к западу,

and to the kings that were on the north of the mountains and in the plain southward of Chinneroth and in the valley and in the borders of Dor to the west

3 к Хананеям, к востоку и к морю, к Аморреям и Хеттеям, к Ферезеям и к Иевусеям, на горе, и к Евеям, подле Ермона в земле Массифе.

and to the Canaanite on the east and on the west and to the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Jebusite in the mountains and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

4 И выступили они и все ополчение их с ними, многочисленный народ, который множеством равнялся песку на берегу морском; и коней и колесниц весьма много.

And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, many people even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with a great multitude of horses and chariots.

5 И собрались все цари сии, и пришли и расположились станом вместе при водах Меромских, чтобы сразиться с Израилем.

All these kings united, and as they came they gathered together the camps near the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.

6 Н о Господь сказал Иисусу: не бойся их, ибо завтра, около сего времени, Я предам всех на избиение Израиля; коням же их перережь жилы и колесницы их сожги огнем.

But the LORD said unto Joshua, Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow at this hour I will deliver them up all slain before Israel; thou shalt hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.

7 И исус и с ним весь народ, способный к войне, внезапно вышли на них к водам Меромским и напали на них.

So Joshua came against them with all the people of war and fell upon them suddenly by the waters of Merom.

8 И предал их Господь в руки Израильтян, и поразили они их, и преследовали их до Сидона великого и до Мисрефоф-Маима, и до долины Мицфы к востоку, и перебили их, так что никого из них не осталось, кто уцелел бы.

And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them and chased them unto great Zidon and unto the hot springs and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them no one remaining.

9 И поступил Иисус с ними так, как сказал ему Господь: коням их перерезал жилы и колесницы их сожег огнем.

And Joshua did unto them as the LORD had commanded him; he hamstrung their horses and burnt their chariots with fire.

10 В то же время возвратившись Иисус взял Асор и царя его убил мечом (Асор же прежде был главою всех царств сих);

¶ And Joshua at that time returned and took Hazor and smote the king thereof with the sword because Hazor had been the head of all those kingdoms before.

11 и побили все дышащее, что было в нем, мечом, предав заклятию: не осталось ни одной души; а Асор сожег он огнем.

And they smote all the souls that were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them; there was not any left to breathe; and he burnt Hazor with fire.

12 И все города царей сих и всех царей их взял Иисус и побил мечом, предав их заклятию, как повелел Моисей, раб Господень;

Likewise, Joshua took all the cities of those kings and all their kings and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them as Moses the slave of the LORD had commanded him.

13 в прочем всех городов, лежавших на возвышенности, не жгли Израильтяне, кроме одного Асора, сжег Иисус.

But of all the cities that stood on their hills, Israel burned none of them, excepting Hazor only, which Joshua burned.

14 А всю добычу городов сих и скот разграбили сыны Израилевы себе; людей же всех перебили мечом, так что истребили их: не оставили ни одной души.

And all the spoil of these cities and the beasts, the sons of Israel took for themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, without leaving any that breathed.

15 К ак повелел Господь Моисею, рабу Своему, так Моисей заповедал Иисусу, а Иисус так и сделал: не отступил ни от одного слова во всем, что повелел Господь Моисею.

¶ As the LORD had commanded Moses his slave, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD had commanded Moses.

16 Т аким образом Иисус взял всю эту нагорную землю, всю землю полуденную, всю землю Гошен и низменные места, и равнину и гору Израилеву, и низменные места,

So Joshua took all that land, the mountains and all the region of the Negev and all the land of Goshen and the valleys and the plains and the mountain of Israel and its valleys.

17 о т горы Халак, простирающейся к Сеиру, до Ваал-Гада в долине Ливанской, подле горы Ермона, и всех царей их взял, поразил их и убил.

Even from Mount Halak that goes up unto Seir unto Baalgad in the plains of Lebanon at the roots of Mount Hermon; likewise he took all their kings and smote them and slew them.

18 Д олгое время вел Иисус войну со всеми сими царями.

Joshua made war many days with all those kings.

19 Н е было города, который заключил бы мир с сынами Израилевыми, кроме Евеев, жителей Гаваона: все взяли они войною;

There was not a city that made peace with the sons of Israel except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon; they took all the others in battle.

20 и бо от Господа было то, что они ожесточили сердце свое и войною встречали Израиля--для того, чтобы преданы были заклятию и чтобы не было им помилования, но чтобы истреблены были так, как повелел Господь Моисею.

For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly and that they might have no mercy, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

21 В то же время пришел Иисус и поразил Енакимов на горе, в Хевроне, в Давире, в Анаве, на всей горе Иудиной и на всей горе Израилевой; с городами их предал их Иисус заклятию;

Also at the same time Joshua came and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel; Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

22 н е осталось из Енакимов в земле сынов Израилевых, остались только в Газе, в Гефе и в Азоте.

There were none of the Anakims left in the land of the sons of Israel; only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

23 Т аким образом взял Иисус всю землю, как говорил Господь Моисею, и отдал ее Иисусу в удел Израильтянам, по разделению между коленами их. И успокоилась земля от войны.

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
