1 И продолжал Иов возвышенную речь свою и сказал:

¶ Moreover, Job continued his parable and said,

2 ж ив Бог, лишивший суда, и Вседержитель, огорчивший душу мою,

As God lives, who has taken away my rights; and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,

3 ч то, доколе еще дыхание мое во мне и дух Божий в ноздрях моих,

that all the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils,

4 н е скажут уста мои неправды, и язык мой не произнесет лжи!

my lips shall not speak iniquity, nor my tongue utter deceit.

5 Д алек я от того, чтобы признать вас справедливыми; доколе не умру, не уступлю непорочности моей.

In no wise should I justify you; until I die I will not remove my integrity from me.

6 К репко держал я правду мою и не опущу ее; не укорит меня сердце мое во все дни мои.

I hold fast to my righteousness and will not let it go; my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

7 В раг мой будет, как нечестивец, и восстающий на меня, как беззаконник.

¶ Let my enemy be as the wicked and my adversary as the unrighteous.

8 И бо какая надежда лицемеру, когда возьмет, когда исторгнет Бог душу его?

For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he has stolen much, when God takes away his soul?

9 У слышит ли Бог вопль его, когда придет на него беда?

Will God hear his cry when the tribulation comes upon him?

10 Б удет ли он утешаться Вседержителем и призывать Бога во всякое время?

Will he delight himself in the Almighty? Will he always call upon God?

11 В озвещу вам, что в руке Божией; что у Вседержителя, не скрою.

¶ I will teach you what there is in the hand of God; I will not conceal that which is regarding the Almighty.

12 В от, все вы и сами видели; и для чего вы столько пустословите?

Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye so completely vain?

13 В от доля человеку беззаконному от Бога, и наследие, какое получают от Вседержителя притеснители.

This is the portion of a wicked man with God and the heritage of the violent, which they shall receive of the Almighty.

14 Е сли умножаются сыновья его, то под меч; и потомки его не насытятся хлебом.

If their sons are multiplied, it is for the sword; and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

15 О ставшихся по нем смерть низведет во гроб, и вдовы их не будут плакать.

Those that remain of him shall be buried in death; and their widows shall not weep.

16 Е сли он наберет кучи серебра, как праха, и наготовит одежд, как брение,

Though he heaps up silver as the dust and prepares raiment as the clay,

17 т о он наготовит, а одеваться будет праведник, и серебро получит себе на долю беспорочный.

he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

18 О н строит, как моль, дом свой и, как сторож, делает себе шалаш;

He built his house as a moth and as a booth that the keeper makes.

19 л ожится спать богачом и таким не встанет; открывает глаза свои, и он уже не тот.

The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered; he shall open his eyes and not see anyone.

20 К ак воды, постигнут его ужасы; в ночи похитит его буря.

Terrors shall take hold on him as waters; a whirlwind shall carry him away in the night.

21 П однимет его восточный ветер и понесет, и он быстро побежит от него.

The east wind shall take him away, and he shall depart; the storm shall catch him up out of his place.

22 У стремится на него и не пощадит, как бы он ни силился убежать от руки его.

For God shall cast down on him and not spare; he would attempt to flee out of his hand.

23 В сплеснут о нем руками и посвищут над ним с места его!

Men shall clap their hands at him, and from his place they shall hiss at him.
