1 П ослушайте вы, богатые: плачьте и рыдайте о бедствиях ваших, находящих на вас.

¶ Come now, Oh ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

2 Б огатство ваше сгнило, и одежды ваши изъедены молью.

Your riches are rotten, and your garments are motheaten.

3 З олото ваше и серебро изоржавело, и ржавчина их будет свидетельством против вас и съест плоть вашу, как огонь: вы собрали себе сокровище на последние дни.

Your gold and silver is corrupted with rust; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you and shall completely eat your flesh, as fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

4 В от, плата, удержанная вами у работников, пожавших поля ваши, вопиет, и вопли жнецов дошли до слуха Господа Саваофа.

Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped your fields (which you have kept back by fraud) cries out; and the cries of those who have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of the hosts.

5 В ы роскошествовали на земле и наслаждались; напитали сердца ваши, как бы на день заклания.

Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth and been wanton; ye have refreshed your hearts, as in the day of slaughter of sacrifices.

6 В ы осудили, убили Праведника; Он не противился вам.

Ye have condemned and murdered the just, and he does not resist you.

7 И так, братия, будьте долготерпеливы до пришествия Господня. Вот, земледелец ждет драгоценного плода от земли и для него терпит долго, пока получит дождь ранний и поздний.

Be patient, therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently until it receives the early and latter rain.

8 Д олготерпите и вы, укрепите сердца ваши, потому что пришествие Господне приближается.

Be ye also patient and confirm your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draws near.

9 Н е сетуйте, братия, друг на друга, чтобы не быть осужденными: вот, Судия стоит у дверей.

Complain not one against another, brethren, that ye not be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

10 В пример злострадания и долготерпения возьмите, братия мои, пророков, которые говорили именем Господним.

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

11 В от, мы ублажаем тех, которые терпели. Вы слышали о терпении Иова и видели конец от Господа, ибо Господь весьма милосерд и сострадателен.

Behold, we count blessed those who endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very merciful, and full of compassion.

12 П режде же всего, братия мои, не клянитесь ни небом, ни землею, и никакою другою клятвою, но да будет у вас: 'да, да' и 'нет, нет', дабы вам не подпасть осуждению.

¶ But above all things, my brethren, do not swear by heaven or by the earth or by any other oath, but let your yes be yes and your no, no; lest ye fall into condemnation.

13 З лостраждет ли кто из вас, пусть молится. Весел ли кто, пусть поет псалмы.

Is anyone among you afflicted? let them pray. Is anyone happy? let them sing.

14 Б олен ли кто из вас, пусть призовет пресвитеров Церкви, и пусть помолятся над ним, помазав его елеем во имя Господне.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the congregation; and let them pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

15 И молитва веры исцелит болящего, и восставит его Господь; и если он соделал грехи, простятся ему.

and the prayer of faith shall cause the one who is sick to be saved, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he shall be forgiven them.

16 П ризнавайтесь друг пред другом в проступках и молитесь друг за друга, чтобы исцелиться: много может усиленная молитва праведного.

Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be whole. The effectual prayer of the righteous is very powerful.

17 И лия был человек, подобный нам, и молитвою помолился, чтобы не было дождя: и не было дождя на землю три года и шесть месяцев.

Elijah was a man subject to passions like unto ours, and he asked in prayer that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.

18 И опять помолился: и небо дало дождь, и земля произрастила плод свой.

And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

19 Б ратия! если кто из вас уклонится от истины, и обратит кто его,

Brethren, if any of you have erred from the truth, and someone should convert him;

20 п усть тот знает, что обративший грешника от ложного пути его спасет душу от смерти и покроет множество грехов.

let that one know, that whosoever causes the sinner to convert from the error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.
