1 Т еперь послушайте меня вы, богатые. Плачьте и рыдайте, потому что на вас надвигаются несчастья.

¶ Come now, Oh ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

2 В аше богатство сгнило, вашу одежду изъела моль.

Your riches are rotten, and your garments are motheaten.

3 В аше золото и серебро проржавели, и их ржавчина будет свидетельством против вас и, как огонь, пожрет вас. Вы собрали богатство на последние дни!

Your gold and silver is corrupted with rust; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you and shall completely eat your flesh, as fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

4 Т е деньги, что вы недоплатили работникам, собравшим урожай на ваших полях, громко кричат. Вопль жнецов слышит Господь Сил.

Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped your fields (which you have kept back by fraud) cries out; and the cries of those who have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of the hosts.

5 В ы жили на земле в роскоши и удовольствиях, но откормили себя лишь на день заклания.

Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth and been wanton; ye have refreshed your hearts, as in the day of slaughter of sacrifices.

6 В ы осудили и убили праведного, который не сопротивлялся вам. Будьте терпеливы

Ye have condemned and murdered the just, and he does not resist you.

7 Б ратья, наберитесь терпения до пришествия Господа. Земледельцу тоже приходится терпеливо ждать драгоценного плода земли, пока он получит осенние и весенние дожди.

Be patient, therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently until it receives the early and latter rain.

8 Б удьте же и вы терпеливы и крепите свои сердца, потому что пришествие Господа близко.

Be ye also patient and confirm your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draws near.

9 Н е жалуйтесь, братья, друг на друга, чтобы не подвергнуться осуждению. Судья уже стоит у дверей.

Complain not one against another, brethren, that ye not be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

10 Б ратья, пусть для вас примером терпения в страданиях будут пророки, которые говорили во Имя Господа.

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

11 М ы считаем благословенными тех, кто проявлял терпение. Вы слышали о терпении Иова и видели, как в конце Господь благословил его, потому что Господь богат милостью и состраданием. О клятве

Behold, we count blessed those who endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very merciful, and full of compassion.

12 П режде всего, братья мои, не клянитесь ни небом, ни землей, ни какой-либо другой клятвой. Пусть ваше «да» будет настоящим «да», а ваше «нет» – настоящим «нет», чтобы вам не быть осужденными. Сила молитвы

¶ But above all things, my brethren, do not swear by heaven or by the earth or by any other oath, but let your yes be yes and your no, no; lest ye fall into condemnation.

13 Е сли кто-либо из вас страдает – пусть молится. Кто-то счастлив? Пусть поет хвалебные песни.

Is anyone among you afflicted? let them pray. Is anyone happy? let them sing.

14 К то-то из вас болен? Пусть позовет старейшин церкви, чтобы те помолились над ним и помазали бы его маслом во Имя Господа.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the congregation; and let them pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

15 И молитва с верой исцелит больного: Господь поднимет его. Если заболевший согрешил, то он будет прощен.

and the prayer of faith shall cause the one who is sick to be saved, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he shall be forgiven them.

16 П ризнавайтесь друг перед другом в ваших грехах и молитесь друг за друга, чтобы получить исцеление. Усиленная молитва праведного может многое.

Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be whole. The effectual prayer of the righteous is very powerful.

17 И лия был таким же человеком, как и мы. Но он ревностно помолился, чтобы не было дождя, и на земле не было дождя три с половиной года.

Elijah was a man subject to passions like unto ours, and he asked in prayer that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.

18 П отом, опять же по его молитве, небо дало дождь, и земля снова начала приносить урожай. Об уклонившихся от истины

And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

19 Б ратья мои, если кто-то из вас уклонится от истины, а другой возвратит его к ней,

Brethren, if any of you have erred from the truth, and someone should convert him;

20 т о пусть вернувший грешника на правильный путь знает, что он этим спасет душу грешника от смерти и покроет множество грехов.

let that one know, that whosoever causes the sinner to convert from the error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.
