1 Т огда трое друзей перестали спорить с Иовом, потому что он был уверен в своей правоте.

¶ So these three men ceased to answer Job because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2 Н о Елиуй, сын Барахела, потомок Буза, из рода Рам, разгневался на Иова за то, что тот считал себя праведным перед Богом.

Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, was kindled; against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

3 О н разгневался и на трех его друзей за то, что не сумев возразить, они клеветали на Иова.

Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

4 Н о Елиуй ждал, прежде чем заговорить с Иовом, потому что остальные были старше его.

Now Elihu had waited until Job had spoken because they were all elder than he.

5 К огда же он увидел, что тем троим нечего больше сказать, он разгневался. Первая речь Елиуя

But when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.

6 И тогда Елиуй, сын Барахела, потомок Буза, сказал: – Я молод годами, вы же в преклонных летах; поэтому я и робел, и не смел вам высказать свое мнение.

¶ And Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, answered and said, I am younger, and ye are older; therefore, I was afraid, and I feared to declare unto you my opinion.

7 Я думал: «Пусть говорит возраст; пусть преклонные годы учат мудрости».

I said, Days shall speak, and the multitude of years shall declare wisdom.

8 Н о нет, это дух в человеке и дыхание Всемогущего разум дают.

Certainly there is a spirit in man, and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding.

9 Н е одни старики мудры, не одни престарелые знают правду.

Great men are not always wise; neither do the aged understand judgment.

10 П оэтому говорю я: «Внимайте мне! Я тоже скажу вам, что знаю». Елиуй обвиняет друзей

Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will declare my knowledge.

11 Я ждал, пока вы говорили, суждения ваши слушал; пока вы искали слова,

Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your arguments, while ye searched out what to say.

12 я вглядывался в вас. Но никто из вас Иова не опроверг, на слова его не ответил.

Even so, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you to reprove Job or to answer his words.

13 Н е говорите: «Мы мудрость нашли: пусть Бог обличает его, а не человек».

Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom; it is needful that God thrust him down, and not man.

14 Е сли бы против меня он обратил речь свою, то я не как вы отвечал бы ему.

Now he has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your reasons.

15 О ни испугались и больше не отвечают, слов у них не осталось.

¶ They were amazed, they answered no more; they left off speaking.

16 Ж дать ли мне, раз они замолчали, раз они стоят здесь, не отвечая?

And I waited, (for they did not speak, but stopped, and answered no more);

17 М не ведь тоже есть что сказать, я тоже выскажу свое мнение.

I said, I will also answer my part, I will also declare my opinion.

18 Я переполнен словами, дух во мне побуждает меня.

For I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me.

19 С ердце мое, как вино неоткрытое, как новые бурдюки, готовые разорваться.

Behold, my belly is as wine which has no vent; it is ready to burst forth like spirits.

20 З аговорю и найду покой; разомкну уста свои и отвечу;

I will speak, that I may be able to breathe; I will open my lips and answer.

21 н е буду смотреть ни на чье лицо и льстить никому не стану,

I will not now be a respecter of persons, neither will I give flattering titles unto man.

22 в едь я не умею льстить – иначе скоро убил бы меня мой Творец!

For I do not know how to give flattering titles; otherwise my maker would soon take me away.
