1 – Я вошел в сад мой, сестра моя, невеста моя; я собрал мою мирру с пряностями моими, поел моего меда из сотов, напился вина моего с молоком моим. Молодые женщины: – Ешьте, друзья, и пейте! Пейте и насыщайтесь, возлюбленные! Она:

¶ I came into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh and my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk: eat, O friends; drink, beloved, drink abundantly.

2 – Я спала, но сердце мое бодрствовало. Послушайте! Возлюбленный мой стучится: «Открой мне, сестра моя, милая моя, голубка моя, чистая моя. Голова моя промокла от росы, волосы мои – от ночной влаги».

¶ I sleep, but my heart watches for the voice of my beloved that knocks at the door, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.

3 Я уже сняла одежду свою, как же мне снова одеться? Я вымыла ноги свои, как же мне снова их пачкать?

I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them?

4 В озлюбленный мой просунул руку свою в скважину двери, и сердце мое затрепетало.

My beloved put in his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him.

5 Я поднялась, чтобы отпереть возлюбленному моему, с рук моих капала мирра, с пальцев моих капала мирра на ручки замка.

I rose up to open to my beloved, and my hands dripped with myrrh, and my fingers with sweet smelling myrrh, upon the handles of the lock.

6 Я открыла возлюбленному моему, но его уже не было – он ушел. Сердце мое опечалилось из-за его ухода. Я искала его, но не нашла, звала, но он не откликался.

I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had withdrawn himself and was gone; my soul went after his speech; I sought him, but I could not find him; I called him, but he gave me no answer.

7 Н ашли меня стражи, обходящие город. Они избили меня, изранили и забрали накидку мою, стражи, стерегущие стены.

The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my outer cloak from me.

8 Д очери Иерусалима, я заклинаю вас, если встретите возлюбленного моего, передайте ему, что я изнемогаю от любви. Молодые женщины:

I charge you, O virgins of Jerusalem, if ye should find my beloved that ye cause him to know how sick I am with love.

9 – Чем возлюбленный твой лучше других, прекраснейшая из женщин? Чем возлюбленный твой лучше других, что ты заклинаешь нас так? Она:

¶ What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? What is thy beloved more than another beloved that thou dost so charge us?

10 – Возлюбленный мой здоров и румян, ему нет равных.

My beloved is white and ruddy; the standard-bearer among the ten thousands.

11 Г олова его – чистое золото; волосы его – волнистые, черные, как вороново крыло.

His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy and black as a raven.

12 Г лаза его, как голуби при потоках вод, купающиеся в молоке, сидящие у стремнины.

His eyes are as doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, as doves that are next to abundance.

13 Щ еки его, словно грядки пряностей, издающих аромат. Губы его, словно лилии, источающие мирру.

His cheeks are as a bed of aromatic spices, as fragrant flowers; his lips like lilies, dripping sweet smelling myrrh that transcends.

14 Р уки его – золотые жезлы, украшенные хризолитом. Живот его, словно изделие из слоновой кости, покрытое сапфирами.

His hands are as gold rings set with beryls; his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.

15 Н оги его – мраморные столбы, установленные на подножиях из чистого золота. Его вид величествен, как горы Ливана, изыскан, как ливанские кедры.

His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold; his countenance is as Lebanon, chosen as the cedars.

16 У ста его – сама сладость, и все в нем желанно. Вот каков мой возлюбленный, вот каков мой друг, о дочери Иерусалима!

His mouth is most sweet; he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O virgins of Jerusalem.
