1 З атем Елиуй продолжал говорить:

¶ Furthermore, Elihu answered and said,

2 – Послушайте, мудрые, мою речь. Внимайте мне, умные люди.

Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.

3 В едь ухо разбирает слова, как язык – вкус пищи.

For the ear tries words, as the mouth tastes food.

4 Т ак давайте решим, где правда, и рассудим, что есть добро. Елиуй обличает Иова в неправедности

Let us choose our judgment; let us know among ourselves what is good.

5 И ов сказал: «Я невинен, но лишил меня Бог правосудия.

For Job has said, I am righteous; and God has taken away my right.

6 И хоть я прав – меня считают лжецом. Хоть я без греха, моя рана от Его стрелы неисцелима».

In my judgment he was a liar, my arrow wound is grievous without my having committed a transgression.

7 Е сть ли еще такой человек, как Иов, кто кощунство, как воду, пьет?

What man is like Job, who drinks up the scorn like water?

8 О н дружит с нечестивыми, и общается со злодеями.

Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men.

9 В едь он говорит: «Нет выгоды человеку, который старается угодить Богу». Елиуй свидетельствует о справедливости Бога

For he said, It shall profit a man nothing that he should conform his will with God.

10 П отому, имеющие разум, послушайте меня! Не может быть у Бога неправды, чужд Всемогущий злу.

¶ Therefore, hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.

11 В оздает он смертному по делам и обходится с ним по его заслугам.

For he shall pay man according to his work and cause every man to find according to his ways.

12 В оистину, Бог не делает зла, Всемогущий не извращает суд.

Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

13 К то отдал землю Ему во власть? Кто поставил Его над вселенной?

Who visited the earth for him? And who set the whole world in order?

14 Е сли бы Он решил забрать Свой дух и отозвал бы Свое дыхание,

If he were to set his heart upon man and gather unto himself his spirit and his breath,

15 п огибла бы разом любая плоть, и возвратился бы смертный во прах.

all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again unto dust.

16 И меешь ты разум, так слушай это; внимай моей речи.

¶ If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.

17 Р азве правил бы Бог, если бы ненавидел правосудие? Обвинишь ли ты Справедливого и Могучего,

Shall even he that hates judgment govern? And wilt thou condemn the Mighty One that is righteous?

18 К оторый говорит царю: «Негодяй!» – и приближенным: «Вы беззаконники!».

Is it fit to say to the king, Thou art of Belial and to the princes, Ye are ungodly?

19 О н вождям не выказывает пристрастий и не ставит богатого выше бедного, ведь все они – Его рук творение.

How much less to him who is not a respecter of the persons of princes, nor respects the rich more than the poor; for they all are the work of his hands.

20 О ни умирают мгновенно в полночь; мечутся люди и угасают; не руки смертных сражают сильных.

In a moment they shall die, and the peoples shall be troubled at midnight and shall pass away; and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.

21 Г лаза Его над путями людей; Он видит каждый их шаг.

For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he sees all his steps.

22 Н ет ни мрака, ни тьмы кромешной, где могли бы спрятаться беззаконники.

There is no darkness nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

23 В едь Богу нет нужды назначать время человеку, чтобы предстать на суд перед Ним.

For he will not lay upon man more than that which is just; that he should enter into judgment with God.

24 Б ез допроса сокрушает Он сильных и других на их место ставит.

He shall break in pieces mighty men without number and set others in their stead.

25 И стинно, ведая их дела, низлагает их ночью – и им конец.

Therefore, he shall cause their works to be notorious, when he shall overturn them in the night, so that they are destroyed.

26 Н а глазах у людей Он карает их за грехи,

He shall strike them as wicked men in the open sight of others

27 в едь они от Него отступили, не познали Его путей.

because thus they turned back from him and would not consider any of his ways

28 И дошел до него крик бедных, Он услышал крик страдальцев.

so that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he hears the cry of the afflicted.

29 Е сли Он промолчит, кто Его укорит? Если скроет Он лицо Свое, кто сможет Его увидеть? Он над народом и над человеком,

When he gives rest, who then can make trouble? If he hides his face, who then can behold him? This applies to a nation and the same to a man,

30 ч тобы не царствовали безбожники, став сетью для народа.

that the hypocrite not reign, lest the people be ensnared.

31 П оложим, кто-нибудь скажет Богу: «Я виновен – больше не согрешу.

¶ For it is of God to say, I have forgiven, I will no longer destroy.

32 Н аучи меня, если что-то не знаю; если я согрешил, то впредь зарекусь». –

Teach me that which I do not see; if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more.

33 Т огда должен ли Бог тебя удостоить наградой, когда ты отказываешься раскаяться ? Ты должен решать, а не я. Говори же, что знаешь.

Will he, perchance finish his work by thee; whether thou refuse or whether thou choose, or by me? Speak what thou knowest.

34 Л юди разумные скажут мне, мудрецы, кто услышит меня:

The men of understanding will say as I say, and the wise man will hearken unto me.

35 « От невежества говорит Иов, нет в его речи разума».

Job has spoken without knowledge, and his words were without prudence.

36 О , когда бы до конца был испытан Иов, за ответы, достойные беззаконных!

My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end, that there may be answers against wicked men.

37 К греху своему приложил он бунт; насмехаясь над нами, он бьет в ладоши и слова против Бога множит.

For he added rebellion unto his sin, he claps his hands among us and multiplies his words against God.
