1 Г лаза мои все это видели, слышали уши и понял ум.

¶ Behold, my eyes have seen all this; my ears have heard and understood it.

2 Ч то знаете вы, то знаю и я; я не хуже вас.

As you know it, I know it; I am not inferior unto you.

3 Н о я бы хотел поговорить со Всемогущим, с Богом поспорить о моем деле.

But I would speak with the Almighty, and I desired to dispute with God.

4 А вы замарали меня ложью, все вы – бесполезные лекари.

That ye are certainly forgers of lies; ye are all physicians of no value.

5 О если бы вы все вместе замолчали! В этом была бы мудрость для вас.

O that ye would altogether be silent! And it would be unto you instead of wisdom.

6 В ыслушайте же мои доводы, внимайте укорам моих уст.

Hear now my dispute, and hearken to the arguments of my lips.

7 Н еужели вы станете лгать ради Бога, и обманывать ради Него?

Are ye to speak iniquity for God? Are ye to speak deceitfully for him?

8 Б удете ради Него пристрастными, и в суде станете Его выгораживать?

Are ye to bring honour unto him? Are ye to contend for God?

9 Ч то с вами будет, если Он испытает вас? Обманете ли вы Его, как обманываете людей?

Would it be good for him to search you out? As one man mocks another, do ye so mock him?

10 О н непременно осудит вас, если вы были втайне пристрастны.

He will reprove you severely, if in secret you give him such honour.

11 Н е страшит вас Его величие? Ужас перед Ним вас не объемлет?

Certainly his excellency should make you afraid, and his dread should fall upon you.

12 И зречения ваши – зола, и оплот ваш – оплот из глины.

Your memories shall be compared unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.

13 З амолчите, и я буду говорить; а потом пусть будет со мной, что будет.

¶ Listen to me, and I will speak, and afterward let come on me what will.

14 Я подвергну себя опасности, жизнью своей рискну.

Why shall I take my flesh in my teeth and put my life in the palm of my hand?

15 О н убивает меня, но я буду надеяться на Него; перед Его лицом я защищу свой путь!

Though he slay me, yet I will trust in him; but I will defend my ways before him.

16 И в этом мое спасение, ведь безбожник предстать перед Ним не осмелится!

He also shall be my saving health; for the hypocrite shall not enter into his presence.

17 В нимайте моим словам; пусть дойдет моя речь до ваших ушей.

Hear diligently my reason and my declaration with your ears.

18 В от, я завел судебное дело и знаю, что буду оправдан.

Behold now, if I draw near unto the judgment; I know that I shall be justified.

19 В озьмется ли кто оспаривать меня? Если да, то я замолчу и умру.

Who is he that will contend with me? For now, if I remain silent, I shall die.

20 Л ишь о двух вещах я, Боже, молю, и не стану я больше прятаться от Тебя –

At the least, grant me these two things; then I will not hide myself from thee:

21 у дали от меня Свою руку и не страши меня ужасом Твоим.

withdraw thy hand from me; and let not thy dread make me afraid.

22 Т огда призови меня, и я откликнусь, или позволь мне говорить, а Сам отвечай.

Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and answer thou me.

23 С колько за мной злодейств и грехов? Покажи мне проступки мои и грех.

¶ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.

24 З а что Ты скрываешь Свое лицо и считаешь меня врагом?

Why dost thou hide thy face, and hold me for thine enemy?

25 С танешь ли Ты пугать лист опавший? Пустишься ли за сухою соломинкой в погоню?

Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? Wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?

26 Т ы записываешь горькое против меня и грехи моей юности мне вменяешь.

Why dost thou write bitter things against me and make me carry the iniquities of my youth.

27 Н оги мои Ты заковал в колодки; следишь за всеми моими путями; по следам моих ног идешь.

Thou dost put my feet also in the stocks and look narrowly unto all my paths; thou dost set a print upon the heels of my feet.

28 И распадается человек, как гниль, как изъеденная молью одежда.

And man, is as a rotten thing that is being consumed, as a garment that is moth eaten.
