1 Н екоторое время спустя Давид разбил филистимлян, покорил их и захвитил город Гат с окрестными поселениями из рук филистимлян.

¶ Now after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines and subdued them and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 Е ще Давид разбил моавитян. Так моавитяне покорились Давиду и стали платить ему дань.

And he smote Moab, and the Moabites became David’s slaves, bringing him presents.

3 Е ще Давид разбил Ададезера, царя Цовы, нанося ему поражение до самого города Хамата, когда тот шел утвердить свою власть у реки Евфрата.

And David smote Hadarezer, king of Zobah in Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion unto the river Euphrates.

4 Д авид захватил тысячу его колесниц, семь тысяч колесничих и двадцать тысяч пеших воинов. Он подрезал сухожилия всем колесничным коням, оставив из них лишь сотню.

And David took from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; David also hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved those of one hundred chariots.

5 К огда на помощь Ададезеру, царю Цовы, пришли арамеи Дамаска, Давид поразил из них двадцать две тысячи человек.

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer, king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.

6 О н разместил войска в царстве дамасских арамеев, и арамеи стали у него рабами, платящими дань. Господь давал Давиду победу, куда бы он ни ходил.

Then David put garrisons in Syria, the Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became David’s slaves, bringing him presents. For the LORD saved David wherever he went.

7 Д авид взял золотые щиты, которые принадлежали приближенным Ададезера, и принес их в Иерусалим.

And David took the shields of gold that the slaves of Hadarezer carried and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 И з Теваха и Куна, городов, принадлежавших Ададезеру, Давид взял очень много бронзы, из которой Соломон сделал бронзовое море, столбы и разную бронзовую утварь для дома Господа.

Likewise from Tibhath and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, David took very much brass, with which Solomon made the brasen sea and the pillars and the vessels of brass.

9 К огда Фой, царь Хамата, услышал, что Давид разбил все войско Ададезера, царя Цовы,

¶ Now when Tou, king of Hamath, heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer, king of Zobah,

10 о н послал к царю Давиду своего сына Гадорама, чтобы приветствовать его и поздравить с победой над Ададезером, с которым тот вел войну. Гадорам привез разные изделия, сделанные из золота, серебра и бронзы.

he sent Hadoram, his son, to King David, to greet him and to bless him because he had fought against Hadarezer and smitten him, for Hadarezer had war with Tou. And he sent him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass,

11 Ц арь Давид посвятил и эти изделия Господу, вместе с серебром и золотом, которые он отнял у всех этих народов – Эдома и Моава, аммонитян, филистимлян и Амалика.

which King David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these Gentiles, from Edom and from Moab and from the sons of Ammon and from the Philistines and from Amalek.

12 А вишай, сын Саруи, перебил восемнадцать тысяч эдомитян в Соляной долине.

Moreover, Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, smote Edom in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men.

13 О н разместил свои войска в Эдоме, и все эдомитяне стали его рабами. Господь давал Давиду победу, куда бы тот ни ходил. Приближенные Давида (2 Цар. 8: 15-18; 20: 23-26)

And he put a garrison in Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s slaves. Thus the LORD saved David wherever he went.

14 Д авид правил всем Израилем, верша суд и правду для всего своего народа.

So David reigned over all Israel and executed judgment and righteousness among all his people.

15 И оав, сын Саруи, был начальником войска; Иосафат, сын Ахилуда, был летописцем;

And Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was over the host; and Jehoshaphat, the son of Ahilud, writer of the chronicles;

16 Ц адок, сын Ахитува, и Ахимелех, сын Авиатара, были священниками; Шавша был писарем,

and Zadok, the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech, the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;

17 В анея, сын Иодая, командовал керетитами и пелетитами, а сыновья Давида были первыми приближенными при царе.

and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were first, at the hand of the king.
