1 Б удучи сам старейшиной и свидетелем страданий Христа, а также соучастником Его славы, которая должна открыться, я прошу ваших старейшин:

¶ The elders who are among you I exhort (I am also an elder with them and a witness of the afflictions of the Christ, and also a participant of the glory that shall be revealed).

2 п асите Божье стадо, оставленное вам на попечение, наблюдая за ним не по принуждению, а с желанием, как угодно Богу, и не ради низкой корысти, а из усердия.

Feed the flock of God which is among you, caring for her, not by force, but willingly; not for shameful lucre, but with willing desire;

3 Н е властвуйте над вверенными вам людьми, но подавайте стаду хороший пример.

and not as having lordship over the heritage of the Lord, but in such a manner as to be examples of the flock.

4 И когда придет Главный Пастырь, тогда вы получите неувядающий венец славы. Наставления верующим

And when the great Prince of the pastors shall appear, ye shall receive the incorruptible crown of glory.

5 В ы же, молодые, подчиняйтесь старейшинам. И все будьте смиренны по отношению друг ко другу, потому что «Бог – противник гордых, но смиренным Он дает благодать».

¶ Likewise, young people, be subject to the elders in such a manner that you are all subject to one another. Be clothed with humility of will, for God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

6 П оэтому смиритесь под могучей рукой Божьей, и Он возвысит вас в свое время.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time,

7 В озложите все ваши заботы на Него, ведь Он печется о вас.

casting all your cares upon him, for he cares for you.

8 Б удьте бдительны и бодрствуйте. Ваш враг, дьявол, бродит вокруг, как рычащий лев, в поисках жертвы.

¶ Be temperate and vigilant because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour,

9 Б удьте тверды в вере и противостаньте дьяволу, помня, что по всему миру ваши братья терпят такие же страдания.

resist him steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are to be accomplished in the company of your brethren that are in the world.

10 П осле вашего кратковременного страдания Бог, источник всякой благодати, призвавший вас к вечной Своей славе через Иисуса Христа, восстановит вас, даст твердость, силу и стойкость.

¶ But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Jesus, the Christ, after ye have suffered a little while, he himself perfects, confirms, strengthens, and establishes you.

To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

12 С помощью Силуана, которого считаю верным братом, я написал вам это короткое письмо, ободряя и свидетельствуя о том, что написанное мной есть истинная благодать Божья. Стойте в ней твердо.

By Silvanus, a faithful brother; (according to my reckoning), I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which ye stand.

13 Ц ерковь в Вавилоне, избранная, как и вы, и мой сын Марк передают вам приветы.

Those here at Babylon, chosen together with you, salute you and so does Mark, my son.

14 П риветствуйте друг друга поцелуем любви. Мир всем вам, живущим в Иисусе Христе.
