1 П осле этого Павел покинул Афины и отправился в Коринф.

¶ After these things Paul departed from Athens and came to Corinth

2 Т ам он встретил иудея по имени Акила, уроженца Понта. Тот недавно прибыл из Италии со своей женой Прискиллой (потому что кесарь Клавдий приказал всем иудеям покинуть Рим), и Павел пришел навестить их.

and found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla (for Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome) and came unto them.

3 У них было одно ремесло с Павлом: они изготавливали палатки, и поэтому Павел остался работать с ними.

And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them and worked, for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

4 К аждую субботу он рассуждал в синагоге с иудеями и греками, пытаясь их убедить.

And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath and persuaded Jews and Greeks.

5 К огда из Македонии пришли Сила и Тимофей, то Павел посвятил все свое время возвещению слова, свидетельствуя иудеям о том, что Иисус – Христос.

And when Silas and Timothy were come from Macedonia, Paul was impressed by the Spirit and testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

6 К огда же они стали препятствовать ему и оскорблять его, он отряхнул пыль с одежды и сказал им: – Вы сами повинны в своей гибели! Я чист, и теперь я иду к язычникам.

And when they opposed themselves and blasphemed, he shook his raiment and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from now on I will go unto the Gentiles.

7 П авел вышел из синагоги и пошел в дом, стоявший рядом, в котором жил Титий Иуст, человек, чтущий Бога.

¶ And he departed from there and entered into a certain man’s house, named Titus the Just, one that feared God, whose house was next to the synagogue.

8 Н ачальник синагоги Крисп и все его домашние поверили в Господа. И многие из коринфян, слышавших Павла, уверовали и были крещены.

And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.

9 О днажды ночью Господь сказал Павлу в видении: – Не бойся! Продолжай говорить и не умолкай.

Then the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent,

10 Я с тобой, и никто не причинит тебе вреда. В этом городе есть много принадлежащих Мне людей.

For I am with thee, and no one shall be able to hurt thee, for I have many people in this city.

11 И Павел провел там полтора года, уча их слову Божьему.

And he continued there a year and six months, teaching them the word of God.

12 В то время, когда Галлион был правителем провинции Ахаия, иудеи, собравшись, напали на Павла и привели его на суд.

¶ And when Gallio was the proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rose up with one accord against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat,

13 О ни стали обвинять его: – Этот человек убеждает людей чтить Бога не так, как учит наш Закон.

saying, This fellow persuades men to honor God contrary to the law.

14 П авел не успел еще ничего сказать, когда Галлион обратился к обвинителям: – Иудеи, если бы вы обвиняли его в каком-либо правонарушении или же серьезном преступлении, то у меня было бы основание принять вашу жалобу.

And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you;

15 Н о так как здесь идет спор об учении, именах и вашем Законе, то решайте эти вопросы сами. Я не желаю быть судьей в подобных делах.

but if it is a question of words and names and of your law, look ye to it, for I will be no judge of such matters.

16 И он прогнал их из суда.

And he drove them from the judgment seat.

17 Т огда все схватили начальника синагоги Сосфена и избили его перед зданием суда, но Галлион не проявил к этому никакого интереса. Возвращение Павла в Антиохию

Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

18 П авел пробыл еще много дней в Коринфе. Затем он простился с братьями и вместе с Прискиллой и Акилой отплыл в Сирию. Перед отплытием Павел остриг волосы в Кенхреях, потому что некогда дал обет Богу.

¶ And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while and then took his leave of the brethren and sailed from there into Syria and with him Priscilla and Aquila, having shorn his head in Cenchrea, for he had a vow.

19 О ни прибыли в Эфес, где Павел оставил Прискиллу и Акилу, а сам пошел в синагогу и рассуждал там с иудеями.

And he came to Ephesus and left them there, but he himself entered into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

20 О ни просили его остаться у них еще на некоторое время, но он отказался.

When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not,

21 – Я вернусь, если на то будет Божья воля, – пообещал Павел на прощание и отплыл из Эфеса.

but bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that comes in Jerusalem, but I will return again unto you, if God wills. And he sailed from Ephesus.

22 О н сошел с корабля в Кесарии, пришел в Иерусалим и, поприветствовав местную церковь, отправился в Антиохию.

And when he had landed at Caesarea and gone up to Jerusalem and after greeting the congregation, he went down to Antioch.

23 П роведя некоторое время в Антиохии, Павел отправился оттуда в путь через галатийскую область и Фригию, укрепляя всех учеников. Служение Аполлоса в Эфесе

And after he had spent some time there, he departed and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, confirming all the disciples.

24 В Эфес тем временем пришел иудей по имени Аполлос, родом из Александрии, человек образованный и хорошо знающий Писания.

¶ And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

25 О н был научен Пути Господа и говорил очень горячо и убедительно, правильно уча об Иисусе, хотя сам он знал только крещение Иоанна.

This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spoke and taught diligently the things of the Lord, teaching only in the baptism of John.

26 А поллос начал смело говорил в синагоге, и когда Прискилла и Акила его услышали, они пригласили его к себе и точнее объяснили ему Путь Божий.

And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Aquila and Priscilla had heard him, they took him unto them and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

27 А поллос хотел идти в Ахаию, и братья, поощряя его, написали письмо ученикам, живущим там, с просьбой принять Аполлоса. Когда он пришел туда, то оказал большую помощь тем, кто по Божьей благодати уверовал.

And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the exhorted brethren wrote the disciples to receive him, who, when he was come, was very helpful through grace unto those who had believed;

28 А поллос убедительно опровергал иудеев в открытых диспутах, доказывая Писаниями, что Христос – это и есть Иисус.

for he mightily convinced the Jews in public, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.
