1 Е лате сега, вие, богатите, плачете и ридайте поради бедствията, които идат върху вас.

¶ Come now, Oh ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

2 Б огатството ви изгни и дрехите ви са изядени от молци.

Your riches are rotten, and your garments are motheaten.

3 З латото ви и среброто ви ръждясаха; и ръждата им ще свидетелства против вас и ще изпояде месата ви като огън. Вие сте събирали съкровища в последните дни.

Your gold and silver is corrupted with rust; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you and shall completely eat your flesh, as fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

4 Е то, заплатата за работниците, които са жънали нивите ви, от която ги лишихте, вика; и виковете на жътварите влязоха в ушите на Господа на Силите.

Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped your fields (which you have kept back by fraud) cries out; and the cries of those who have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of the hosts.

5 В ие живяхте на земята разкошно и разпуснато, угоихте сърцата си като в ден на клане.

Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth and been wanton; ye have refreshed your hearts, as in the day of slaughter of sacrifices.

6 О съдихте, убихте Праведния; и Той не ви се противи. Насърчаване към търпение

Ye have condemned and murdered the just, and he does not resist you.

7 И така, братя, останете твърди до Господнето пришествие. Ето, земеделецът очаква скъпоценния плод от земята и търпи за него, докато получи и ранния, и късния дъжд.

Be patient, therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently until it receives the early and latter rain.

8 О станете и вие твърди и укрепете сърцата си; защото Господнето пришествие наближи.

Be ye also patient and confirm your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draws near.

9 Н е роптайте един против друг, братя, за да не бъдете осъдени; ето, Съдията стои пред вратите.

Complain not one against another, brethren, that ye not be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

10 Б ратя, вземете за пример на злострадание и на твърдост пророците, които говориха за Господнето име.

Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.

11 Е то, облажаваме онези, които са останали твърди. Чули сте за търпението на Йов и сте видели сетнината, дадена му от Господа, че Господ е много жалостив и милостив.

Behold, we count blessed those who endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very merciful, and full of compassion.

12 А преди всичко, братя мои, не се кълнете нито в небето, нито в земята, нито с друга някоя клетва; а нека вашето говорене да бъде: Да, да, и: Не, не, за да не паднете под осъждане. Усърдната молитва и изцелението

¶ But above all things, my brethren, do not swear by heaven or by the earth or by any other oath, but let your yes be yes and your no, no; lest ye fall into condemnation.

13 З ле ли страда някой от вас, нека се моли. Весел ли е някой, нека пее хваления.

Is anyone among you afflicted? let them pray. Is anyone happy? let them sing.

14 Б олен ли е някой от вас, нека повика църковните презвитери и нека се помолят над него и го помажат с елей в Господнето име.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the congregation; and let them pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

15 И молитвата, която е с вяра, ще избави страдалеца, Господ ще го привдигне и ако е извършил грехове, ще му се простят.

and the prayer of faith shall cause the one who is sick to be saved, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he shall be forgiven them.

16 И така, изповядайте един на друг греховете си и се молете един за друг, за да оздравеете. Голяма сила има усърдната молитва на праведния човек.

Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be whole. The effectual prayer of the righteous is very powerful.

17 И лия беше човек със същото естество като нас; и се помоли усърдно да не вали дъжд, и не валя дъжд на земята три години и шест месеца;

Elijah was a man subject to passions like unto ours, and he asked in prayer that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.

18 и пак се помоли и небето даде дъжд, и земята произведе плода си.

And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

19 Б ратя мои, ако някой от вас бъде отклонен от истината и един го обърне,

Brethren, if any of you have erred from the truth, and someone should convert him;

20 н ека знае, че който е обърнал грешния от заблудения му път, ще спаси една душа от смърт и ще покрие много грехове.

let that one know, that whosoever causes the sinner to convert from the error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall cover a multitude of sins.
