1 В ениаминови синове, бягайте от Йерусалим, затръбете в Текуе и издигнете знак във Вет-акерем; защото зло предстои от север и голяма погибел.

¶ O ye sons of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem and blow the shofar in Tekoa and set up as a sign smoke in Bethhaccerem; for evil appears out of the north wind and great destruction.

2 К расивата и изнежена жена, сионовата дъщеря ще изтребя.

I shall liken the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.

3 О вчарите и стадата им ще дойдат при нея, ще разпъват шатрите си против нея от всяка страна, ще пасат всеки на мястото си;

The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed each one his portion.

4 щ е извикат: Пригответе война против нея, станете и нека излезем на пладне. Горко ни! Защото преваля денят, защото се простират вечерните сенки;

Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up towards the south. Woe unto us! for the day goes away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.

5 с танете и да излезем през нощта, и да съборим палатите ѝ.

Arise, and let us go up by night, and let us destroy her palaces.

6 З ащото така казва Господ на Силите: Отсечете дърветата ѝ и издигнете могила против Йерусалим; този е градът, който трябва да бъде наказан, само насилие има в него.

For thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, Hew ye down trees and cast a mount against Jerusalem; this is the city that all of her is to be visited; there is violence in the midst of her.

7 К акто блика вода от извора, така блика злото от него; насилие и грабеж се чува в него, пред Мене непрестанно има болест и рани.

As the waters never cease to flow from a fountain, so her wickedness never ceases to flow; injustice and robbery is heard in her; in my presence continually, sickness and wounds.

8 П риеми поука, Йерусалиме, да не би да се отвръща душата Ми от тебе, да не би да те направя пустиня, земя ненаселена.

Chastise Jerusalem lest peradventure my soul be disjointed from thee, lest peradventure I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.

9 Т ака казва Господ на Силите: Ще берат и ще оберат останалите от Израел като лозе; пак протегни ръката си като гроздоберач към пръчките.

¶ Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine; turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.

10 Н а кого да говоря и пред кого да заявя, за да чуят? Ето, ухото им е необрязано и не могат да чуят; ето, словото Господне стана укорно за тях, те не благоволят в него.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning that they may hear? behold, their ears are uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken, behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

11 З атова съм пълен с яростта на Господа, уморих се да се въздържам; ще я изливам върху децата по улиците и върху целия сбор на младежите, защото ще бъдат грабнати и мъж с жена, старец заедно с престарял.

Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I have worked hard to hold myself in from pouring it out upon the children in the street, and upon the assembly of young men together; for the husband with the wife shall also be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

12 К ъщите им ще преминат в други, също - и полетата, и жените им; защото ще простра ръката Си върху жителите на тази страна, казва Господ;

And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together; for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.

13 з ащото от малък до голям - всеки от тях се е предал на сребролюбие, и от пророк до свещеник - всеки постъпва лъжливо.

For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them each one is given to greed; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one deals falsely.

14 П овърхностно са лекували те раната на народа Ми, като са казали: Мир, мир! А пък няма мир.

They treat also the destruction of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

15 З асрамиха ли се, когато извършиха мерзости? Не, никак не ги досрамя, нито са знаели да почервенеят; затова ще паднат между падащите, ще бъдат поваляни, когато ги накажа, казва Господ.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush; therefore, they shall fall among those that shall fall: at the time that I visit them they shall fall, saith the LORD.

16 Т ака казва Господ: Застанете на пътищата и вижте, и попитайте за древните пътеки - къде е добрият път, и ходете по него, и ще намерите покой за душите си; но те казаха: Не искаме да ходим по него.

Thus hath the LORD said, Stand ye in the ways and see and ask for the old paths, where the good way is and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

17 П оставих и пазачи над вас и казах: Слушайте гласа на тръбата; но те отговориха: Не искаме да слушаме.

Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the shofar. But they said, We will not hearken.

18 З атова слушайте, народи, и ти, съборе, узнай какво има между тях.

¶ Therefore hear, ye Gentiles, and know, O congregation of Gentiles.

19 С лушай, земьо: Ето, Аз ще докарам зло върху този народ, дори плода на помислите им; защото не послушаха словата Ми, а колкото до закона Ми, те го отхвърлиха.

Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts because they have not hearkened unto my words, and they hated my law.

20 З ащо Ми е ливанът, който донасят от Сава, и благовонната тръстика от далечна страна? Всеизгарянията ви не са Ми приятни, нито жертвите ви - угодни.

To what purpose does this incense come to me from Sheba and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not according to my will, nor are your sacrifices sweet unto me.

21 З атова така казва Господ: Ето, Аз ще поставя пред този народ препятствия, о̀ които ще се спъват бащите и синовете заедно; и съседът, и приятелят му ще загинат заедно.

Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

22 Т ака казва Господ: Ето, народ иде от северната страна и велик народ ще се повдигне от краищата на земята.

Thus hath the LORD said, Behold, a people come from the land of the north wind, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.

23 Л ък и копие държат, жестоки са и немилостиви; гласът им бучи като море, възседнали са на коне, всеки опълчен, както мъж за бой, против тебе, дъще сионова.

They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and they shall have no mercy; their voice shall roar like the sea; and they shall ride upon horses set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.

24 О ткакто сме чули вест за тях, ръцете ни отслабнаха, мъки ни обзеха и болки - като на жена, която ражда.

We have heard the fame thereof; our hands wax feeble; anguish has taken hold of us, and pain as of a woman in travail.

25 Н е излизайте на полето и на пътя не ходете, защото мечът на неприятеля и ужасът са от всяка страна.

Do not go forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.

26 Д ъще на народа Ми, препаши се с вретище и се валяй в пепел; жалей като за единороден син, заплачи горчиво, защото разрушителят ще дойде внезапно върху нас.

O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth and wallow thyself in ashes; make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; for the destroyer shall suddenly come upon us.

27 П оставих те изпитател и крепост между народа Си, за да узнаеш и да изпиташ пътя им.

I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people; thou shalt know and examine their way.

28 Т е всички са крайни отстъпници, които разпространяват клевети; мед са и желязо; те всички постъпват разтленно.

They are all rebellious princes; they walk with deception: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.

29 Д ухалото изгоря; оловото бе изпоядено от огъня; разтопителят напразно разтопява, защото злите не се отделиха.

The bellows are burned; the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melts in vain; for the wicked are not plucked away.

30 С ребро за смет ще ги нарекат, защото Господ ги е отхвърлил.

Reprobate silver shall men call them because the LORD has rejected them.
